You guys rock! I love your videos, you are the real deal and Crystal ? I love listening to your insights ! You ARE definitely being of service in this world :)
Your channel is def a contribution to the greater good ! All this beauty showing up on my I pad. At 88 with reduced mobility, this is how I travel. Because of you I am back, with my late husband, in Schotland, in Loch Ness ! I am Dutch so that was nice to hear !! I have lived in Ca over 40 years because of my American husband. Still a little homesick for Holland and Europe sometimes. So I thank you for your beautiful video and for your channel !!
I have always loved Scotland and greatly enjoyed my two visits there. Lately I have had a lot of health issues that have made walking very difficult. Finding your videos has given me the opportunity to enjoy seeing the beautiful views and traveling the highlands vicariously through you and Brian. For that, I am truly grateful.
Your videos are always of value and making them makes you selfless because it’s a huge effort to film so that you can share your adventures and thoughts with us. I have no idea why your channel hasn’t boomed more, you’re one of my favourite UA-camrs and you deserve to be successful, you’re so open, giving and creative xx
Loved the drone work and appreciate posting prices of hotel and food. You look very happy at the end of vlog and I saw Loch Ness monster! Had to be quick to see 😉
That section of the walk along Loch Ness was absolutely stunning! It looks like you guys have really lucked out with the weather too, what a perfect day for it
Thank you Sally :) We loved the GGW. It was quiet and very different from the WHW in all the ways we didn't know we needed. Also great swimming too if the weather is nice while you walk!
One of my friends did an exchange teaching position in Scotland for a year and found it helpful when he used the Duolingo language app to learn Scottish Gaelic 🏴 in order to help with his pronunciation. The Scottish parents got a kick out of his Canadian style pronunciation so he tried this. As for taking the Camino and wondering what value we bring to others, it made me think that it’s too bad most politicians don’t walk the Camino and ponder what actual value they bring to others and think about being less selfish and materialistic. The value you bring dear Crystal is immeasurable in my view!❤️
That is a great idea! I will look at Duolingo and Babbel. I can't hear pronunciation very well but if I SEE it on paper spelled out like how it sounds it makes more sense. I want to get better but it is not a natural talent of mine. MMM I love that - Mandatory Camino for all politicians! Thank you Brigid :)
I love your thoughtful reflections, Crystal. Must have been nice to get away from the level and experience the 'up' @ 15:30 (and beyond) - Always good views from the top unless you're in a cloud! Oh to be a bird looking down upon that awesome landscape.... Not that a bird appreciates such a thing. Lol. 17:38 Majestic music befitting the majestic scenery.
I’ve only got to 6:44 (and am going to carry on watching) but just had to stop and say that your video have actually inspired me to do a trek. I’ll wait til next spring to do the West Highland Way but have started training for the South Downs Way. So thank you! (And ignore the negative voices and comments) xxx
Your authenticity both on the Camino and west highland way and this path, is refreshing. It must be a vulnerable feeling putting yourself and thoughts out there to the world. You do it well. It’s inspiring to watch. ( I just did Leon to Santiago) last spring. ☺️you both are contributing.
Thank you :) Sometimes it feels like UA-cam is therapy - it helps me move through a lot of BIG emotions and when I feel scared to travel alone I remember you all are on the other side of the camera and I feel so much better.
I love your vids and I do share them with those that love the scenery and trekking. I wish I had realized these treks when I was younger (pre social media days) but thank you for bringing the experience my way
The Lagan to Fort Augustus leg really challenged me mentally. I didn’t know about the diversion, so what I had read about as a mostly flat day turned out to be not so much (except the long slog post Bridge of Oich) and longer than I was prepared for. Plus it rained all day!
Oh that looked so dangerous, walking along the side of the road like that!!! The walkway should be on the other side of the guardrail! Yes, I like to see your adventures, your journey and it does give me ideas. Brian with the Biker look! I like it! There are hikers on the trail now! 👣 I see the drone is working out well! Great sceneries!
I greatly enjoy watching your videos and get excited each time one is posted. I am currently planning a trip to Scotland and it is so hard to decide what to do in a few weeks. These videos will definitely be watched again. I love your energy, humor and love of food. It makes me happy every time I watch your videos. Thank you!!!
Thank you Julie! I am sure you will LOVE scotland! Did you watch this video? It has a lot of great suggestions for a general tour (Isle of Skye is amazing!) ua-cam.com/video/n3F9QEvPY7U/v-deo.html
We stayed at the Glenmoriston Arms on our GGW walk too and it was so incredible! Both dinner and breakfast were probably two of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life 😭❤️ Gorgeous video y’all, can’t wait to watch more!
Thank you for another great video. I have been watching since the beginning of the West Highland Way series - research for our own trek next year - but I have to say how terrific your editing is with the music matching so beautifully some of those scenic shots, magic. Great job guys, love it. Looking forward to the next instalment. 🌸🌺🌸🌺
When i was watching your Camino experience and all that rollercoaster feelings I thought: why is she so sad about not finding the purposse in Life and all that stuff? Your mission in Life IS clear! You help and inspire lot of people to walk and travel and thats a very good mission! Your Channel IS Great! Sorry im spanish and im trying to make me understand BEST as posible 😅😂❤❤
Another great vlog showcasing oor beautiful country to the max , we also think we do some good vlogs and wonder why people don't watch them but hey ho that's jait the way it is in the you tube world 😊
@@vanhallaadventures I did, and after watching a few, Ray and I are considering a 2025 Spring Hiking Trip there as well. Thanks for all the great info. It will be my new treadmill UA-cam Video watching on the treadmill!
O man, the Dutch, different kind of breed :-) Anyway, thank you for sharing your video's and yes that is beneficial to the greater good. So keep doing what you are doing! Love from The Netherlands ( Overasselt), Ingrid and Michael
Maybe I’ve missed you already saying, but did you plan accommodations in advance? What is the backup plan if you don’t make it to the accommodation? Would love to do this trail but not sure how to plan.

She is using mole skin or something similar at 8:50, but in the Army, we always carried a roll of duct tape. Goes a long way. Stays put on your heel or toes or wherever you need it. Easy to peel off. Can last for days including in the shower or out or if your feet get wet. Very effective. Save some money and time. Get a roll of duct tape.
I don't understand why generally intelligent people, don't know that you always walk facing on coming traffic! Secondly, making fun of any group of people, is never acceptable!
Hey Gerry, we weren't walking facing oncoming traffic as Scotland has their sides flipped from the USA :) Not sure what group of people you are referring to though...I never made fun of anyone but like the other commenter posted above, I do poke fun of Brian. That is how I flirt with him lol.

Well done you two, good trail vid 👍 I did the GGW a while back and my own set of videos. Just subbed 👍
How do the trekking poles help ? Save energy? Balance? I really enjoy this trip. Thank you.
They help stabilize your body especially when wearing a backpack. Helps keep the weight off your knees and hips. Great for balance!
Omg sticky toffee pudding, the best !!!
So good!

Lord of the the Rings indeed. Its like a walk through Middle-Earth.
Cover your four foot wall with yogurt to encourage the moss to grow more quickly.
I will tell B. I am patiently awaiting to purchase a small space in Scotland and build this moss wall :)
I appreciate your videos 😊
Glad you like them!
You guys are inspiring me to do a walking tour.
Do it!
Enjoying your vlogs, what month did you walk the GGW? Everything looks so vibrant & green.
May/June 2023
Thanks, I might plan a trip mid April - mid May. Very glad you had no midges to deal with on your walk.@@vanhallaadventures
