Wealth including money should bring happiness here & hereafter. It’s to be used for self and shared with those in need. Only when we have more, can we share (and be happy to share). Thank you for good ilmu. May Allah bless you Ustadz Almir Colan.
I believe the reason why the Prophet mentioned money being in the hand of the righteous as being a blessing is because they can make initiatives throughout society to better improve it. One way is like when Uthman bought the well for the Muslims so that they could have access to affordable water stream. The way I would use wealth is by forming foundations that can support themselves to better our society.
Assalamu Alaikum, Jazakallah Khair. To Answer the exercise, The Prophet said the wealth in the righteous hand is blessing because, the righteous hand uses it in what pleases Allah. This means the wealth will be used to the benefit of the owner of the wealth and the general public through charities, zakat, halal buying and selling, and other beneficial activities that ensures appropriate distribution of wealth across society. Examples of beneficial use of wealth include the purchase of the water well by Sayyidina Uthman during the time of the Prophet.
Asalamualeykum ustaadh I believe the hadith indicates that the wealth being in righteous being well because of the ayah in surah insan: [Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude. Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." When a person has this perspective they are cautious in earning halal and being just with their earnings and employees etc. They inspiration and goals are great and not just subjected to themselves but includes the muslimeen at large having multiple righteous people who acquire wealth will be a positive impact towards the Muslim countries and muslimeen. I pray to uplift incompetency from myself, my family and the muslimeen and gear them through my wealth a greater mindset and aspirations and impact towards our lives. JazakaAllahu khair for all you do shaykh
In my understanding, that statement of our Nabi (as)emphasis the fact that money is a tool which a righteous believer can use to gain closeness to Allah (a). Being from a Muslim minority country, my goal is to make financial aid easier for the Muslims by encouraging and financially supporting Muslim startups of different scales and aiding those who aren’t able to produce through both employment creation and charitable work. I understand how hard it is as a Muslim to find the right support when all aid comes with unlawful conditions and that has made my path fairly challenging hence my deep desire to ease it for the next brother or sister.
Jazakhallahu Khairan sir. Very helpful lecture. May Allah reward you abundantly. Unfortunately, I am unable to answer the question at the moment because I don't know of any personal examples using money generously for the sake of the Umma, I believe they exist. and I pray Allah helps me to such a position in the near future.
Because a righteous person would direct that wealth to a cause that would bring the most benefit to the ummah and them self, as opposed to an un-righteous person who would squander, or misuse, or that wealth to heard more wealth, possibly resulting in harm to society or some people. A righteous wealthy muslim in this day and age should direct said wealth to establishing wealth creating industries or bringing them back to the ummah.
Again such great content! Quick question, unlike "Islamic" Home Financing contracts with Islamic Banks that debt-based, are Murabaha Car Loans from Islamic Banks generally considered permissible?
Wealth in the righteous hands is a blessing, as said by our Prophet, upon him be peace, because it enables societal mobility towards good and solving problems. This is what the western liberals fail to see, or that they see rich people as a source of societal wealth through taxation because they sincerely belief that high wealth can only be obtained by exploiting others. If this were true, than our faith would have condemned the rich and that everybody needs to work for the benefit of others in society first and foremost. However, a righteous person being rich is a blessing from Allah for a reason as they can be a driver for economic change and the money will induce production in the way that people would lift themselves out of poverty.
Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Wealth is not in having many possessions. Rather, true wealth is the richness (contentment) of the soul.”
