@Alex I couldn't agree more with your comment. I used to live in Vancouver, WA. Had a small place right along the Columbia River. Have since moved to Oregon (just outside Portland) but the whole point of living in the Pacific Northwest is to take advantage of it's remarkable beauty. And the best part of it is, you don't have to drive far! It's practically right outside your doorstep if you only take that short ride to go and admire it.

I'm from USA too, I'm 16 I've been Homesick my entire life, my stupid parents decided to move out of the country when I have 5 which means I've been away from my country for more than a decade! I don't know how but I have to go back there somehow, even though I'm a minor 😭😭

I'm really impressed with the Mavic Pro's quality. Of course you can see it's limitations at the extremes which is a given considering its 1/2 inch sensor size.

Where did you launch for your shots of Shuksan? Seems like there is a bit of gap without wilderness areas and national park boundaries, but it's right on the ski resort and they also prohibit drone use.

Thumbs-up for the video! Beautiful production and great music! I'd love to take some drone shots at WA state park, but the drone policy in state parks is deterrent. Basically if I want to just fly my new DJI mini 2 (a 249g drone) for some video shots, I'd have to apply for permit and pay $125 to be able to just take off at a single location at one time. Can you share some experience on what you prepared in terms of the legal flying aspect? Thanks!
Thanks! It depends which state park, but unless the law has changed normally it's legal to fly over a park from the outside, as long as you take off and land outside the park. They don't own the airspace.

Are you allowed to fly drones in downtown Seattle or the Pacific coast? I thought those were restricted areas for various reasons.
This site has a comprehensive geo map of actual restricted flight areas - which are not many - as well as advisory areas. Advisory areas in Seattle do not necessarily mean drones are banned. However you need to notify an airport if you are within 5 miles of them. knowbeforeyoufly.org/air-space-map/

How did you get permission for this? I'm interested in filming in WA state but everywhere is so restricted. Did you apply for the permit and it was granted? I read that its not as easy as that but maybe that was some bad info

this should be renamed western washington by drone. Misses over 2/3 of the state (eastern Washington).
What's he gonna film there? Dry, dead land? Big corn fields? Not nearly as interesting as the western portion

@@heidimark as a matter of fact, yes I have been to all of those. Lake Chelan is hardly Eastern Washington. Yes it is East of the Cascades, but really it can be lumped into "Central Washington" or lumped into the Cascades. I hardly consider it Eastern Washington. Lake Roosevelt is very beautiful, I'll give you that one. And much of the North-Central/East part of the state is very nice with the dry pine forests. Palouse Falls is also alright, not as picturesque as Snoqualmie, but still impressive. And I know that there are other places around the plateau that are gorgeous, but they seem to be few and far between. Western Washington just has more natural beauty to it in my opinion, although I'm sure many would agree.
So can people just not fly in Seattle and the surrounding cities but out in the rest of the state is Ok as long as it’s not a state park?
Seattle is legal too as long as you aren't near airports; or at least it was when this video was filmed.
Since 2014 it has been illegal to operate a drone within a national park or wilderness area. State parks in WA require a per use permit. It is becoming difficult for drone pilots to get beautiful shots like this.
How was this all taken on public land? 😂 🤔 Not trying to rad you out. I'm keen to know where I need to go.
