Nice run! Glad you switched to no scrolls. In response to Planet23k, I don't think scummvm should be allowed. I used it in the past and while he is correct, I believe the version we are both currently using is more a more accurate way of playing the original game. (I am Damfee btw). I'm glad we both learned a few things from watching each other's runs. White Tower is so short now!
Too bad :( I Haven't had a partner since 2010 for this game... good ol' Dumfawks... Well in any case I'm glad someone is finally playing this game again. I see you picked up a lot of my habits watching me play hehe (Swarms, Death Wand management, hammer juggling etc). Never thought the day would come where this would be useful to anyone. The easiest time save you could add is just holding the input instead of mashing for cutscene skips. Much faster. I'm still on the fence about Michael. Do you know if the Green Skull is in Opinwood2 every single time with him? Still responding to Planet2k, juggling hammer/pickaxe isn't always faster. Especially when a better option is available (Laura at Rogue 4 has quick cooldowns).
I'm still happy to discuss, though. Also I didn't realize you've been running this game for that long, that's pretty awesome. o_O The swarms are cool, especially when you exit Draracle's. Quite satisfying. :) I did learn a lot from your runs. Glad that there was something useful in mine, too. Ad mashing vs. holding the input: Didn't know that, never thought to try. Will use for sure. Ad green skull: The one in the chest? Afaik that one's always there. At least I haven't had a run where it wouldn't be. I've been running with Michael solely because of the stronger hits and magic (sometimes, though rarely, useful in Catwalk) but never actually tried to do any sort of comparison between the chars, at least not for speedrunning purposes. Technically Kieran should have the fastest cooldowns but is probably a pain to run since he's weak. Will have to do more research there. Have you tried Kieran or Ak'shel?
Never tried Ak'Shel. He should be useless, since all he has to offer is more mana points per mage level. His spells and hits are weak. Kieran is too scary for me. And I haven't ran the game continuously for that long haha. I played for a few days in 2010 , 2015, 2017 and now 2018 because of you! More competitive speedgames occupied the time between those gaps, but I'm old and washed up now.
Well OK, just watched it. Since I probably won't be approaching this, I'll more than gladly share anything that could help you with this run: (1) Consider using a floppy version or/AND ScummVM. Both can greatly influence skipping some scenes where time is of the essence: Dawn vs Scotia battle, some small dialogues during the game, and confirmations during Richard's restoration. (2) You could've switched the hammer from char to char to destroy the last crumbly wall in Draracle's, the same way you did before (I know you were also juggling the chalice tho). (3) I know it's unethical, but killing the mine warden will be faster than talking to him. (4) Looking @(2), you can also do the same in the Mines, when using the dealing with the fallen rocks using picklock. Two switches could be done there. (5) That lock that gave you quite a challenge (@ 37:12 (vid time)) could be picked much easier had you binded rightmouseclick to mousewheeldown (up also works, but slower). The same applies to any other locks that need to be picked in the game. Basically that's all that springs to mind. OUTSTANDING Cimmeria teleport area man! Just outstanding! All in all, the whole Castle seems to be a huge improvement, congratulations! Basically the same goes for the whole run, I'd say it's really good now : ) Good job! Oh, you got quite lucky @ 38:38 (-> 38:44) : PP And the damage somehow wasn't recorded for the spiky ball @ ~ 39:05 - funny : D
Awesome, thanks! (1) Will consider. (2, 4) I wanted to invest time into figuring out a good pattern of moving weapons around but didn't get around to it yet so now I just sort of do it halfway, which is meh. (3) Yeah, I know, it's quite a bit faster but... but... Also, crapenter doesn't do it so there's precedent! :D (5) This one is especially nice! Regarding teleport area, I'm quite happy about that one now. Was a huge pain before. As for totally not almost dying: :P
This is very impressive! I can't even imagine beating this game without the Magic Atlas! If you guys want please check my own (much slower) run on my channel. Congratulations!
This was my favorite game as a kid
You are so fast lands of lore player

Any plans on streaming? I'd kill to watch someone do Lands of Lore attempts haha, also we could discuss strats.
Dunno, tbh I don't feel very comfortable streaming. I tend to do really bad if there's somebody looking at my screen. xD
