This is what happens when your country's parliament is interested in discussing other country's internal affairs instead of their own country.
No this is what happens when people are selfish and panic buy
We have just came out of the freegging lockdown . How the hell are new drivers getting the HGV Licence when no one at work to process all the necessary documentation. Bloody brain dead, the lot of you in the media. Get a life.
when one only know how to loot but don't know how to manage '' This is a classic example
Makes you wonder why Britain keeps interfering in other countries's internal affairs when you see the state of the country. Didn't even have a properly informed and reasoned Brexit debate. Another thing is, why do people panic-buy, they're utterly selfish.
@@tinaforbes1059 Agreed! Not to mention the HGV courses that stopped. During lockdown. Many drivers took early retirement. Many have had Covid. Suffer from long Covid. I'm sure the transport industries have seen deaths amongst colleagues too. The drivers were classed as essential workers. Many caught covid. Yet these Idiots panic buy and still rant on about wearing masks or getting vaccinated. While others watch the commotion caused by the selfish and uneducated. The political bias shown by the media is distasteful.
You mean that Great Britain failed to plan for post Brexit? It took Great Britain four years to divorce themselves from the European Union and we are confused on why there is a fuel shortage in Great Britain?

@@vasilk.3460 I got fuel no problem. It's a fuel tanker driver shortage not a national fuel shortage.
who the hell was driving the fuel tankers in the last 6 months? and what happened to them?
You have to have an ADR to drive a tanker in the UK. EU drivers were just HGV and not tanker drivers.
IR35 was implemented in April causing loads of self employed drivers to walk away !
A few stations had to close cause a number of drivers got Covid, and then people started to Panic Buy cause the media made a big fuss about it. And a small issue became a crisis, cause of sheep.
And yet, as soon as yesterday, the British government was saying there was no gas shortage. Baghdad Bob seems to be alive in many counters these days.
There is no shortage of gas there is plenty.
The problem is the logistics of getting the lorry's to deliver the tankers of petrol to the forecourts.

Britain must recruit drivers from South Africa.
The people writing the news story in the paper knew it would cause panic. I hope no one died because of the delays and gridlock.
It was the Guardian, and they don't care.
how's that brexit working out for y'all?
Mixed, I'd say. As for comments on Brits poking in their bugle to other's affairs, Obama didn't help by voicing his views. If anyone from across the pond is struggling with that, ask Democrats how they felt when a small group of Brits tried to persuade Americans not to vote for George Bush jr when he was standing for president.

The media created a panic it seemed that only BP garages had driver shortages, then people started panic buying from other garages and caused this mess, it’s like the toilet paper all over again, some places have put a £30 limit to make sure there’s enough to go around, I’ve found smaller garages like Texaco hasn’t had problems of drivers with minimal wait times

The £30 limit stops idiots filling water bottles after they fill the tank. Saves time waiting in line for those who truly needed to fill up. I expected the media to act in this way. The whole of Europe has had a shortage of HGV drivers for the past 20 years and its only getting worse now better jobs are becoming more easily available and lets be honest if you live in Poland would you really want to drive at the other side of Europe for the same pay or stay in your own country with family around ?

There's not a shortage of fuel, just a shortage of tanker drivers and lunatics that fill up their car & petrol cans. We have seen photos of people filling up their car then filling up 6 petrol containers at once, it's those idiots that are causing it to run out quicker so drivers can't keep up with demand. Panic buying is the cause as well. Do what I did I waited until I was down to 2 bars as usual the got up at 4 am it was dark & everyone was asleep so I had a 24 hour garage to myself, it was peaceful, quick & I have a full tank of diesel. No waiting in queues wasting even more fuel. Are you a fool for fuel ?
British people should have thought better leaving the EU. Now, they have to face the consequences.

This time last week there wasn't any problems at all in the UK with petrol supply this problem only happened with the news media hype there were only a handful of petrol stations having supply issues, if the TV news channels had been more responsible this would have never happened , in a couple of weeks we'll all be back to normal with no fuel shortages at all.
The Guardian ran an article, to trigger it. The Remoaners are feeling spiteful - not only has AUKUS made the EU essentially irrelevant, and definitely undefended, but we aren't renewing French licences to fish in our waters.

This needs clarification, in that a very minor issue, led to Gov ministers asking the public NOT to panic buy fuel.
The consequences of such idiotic advice should be obvious.
The initial problem was that only around half a dozen petrol stations had problems getting deliveries on time.
And the media over hyping it causing the panic buying
Every crisis starts small, call it "only around half a dozen" ... but then it becomes more 🤷♂️

The problem is not only the lack of drivers, the problem is that Britain has abruptly broken the chain of the single market that has existed for 50 years. Now It takes a decade to get used to new realities. It was like in the 90s, when the USSR collapsed. National eglism is the enemy of all the peoples of the world. I wish the British people patience.

I have a friend who has a truck company in Portugal and doesn't travel through the UK because it's the only time he has had to deal with Brexit, he had 3 trucks stuck for almost a week at the beginning of the year, and lost over 1500€ with each truck, between overtime, meals, and two fines because of the mess in Kent. He says he prefers to leave parked trucks then accept cargo to the UK even charging 200% more per container because even with 200% more for freight there is a strong possibility of a loss of money.
And that shortage of truck drivers (100.000 in the UK and 400.000 in 27 countries) gives all EU companies the choice of what work to pick up, and that is why we don't have empty supermarkets and empty pumps in gas stations.
He said that the UK is almost as difficult as dealing with Angola ( He also has a small company of transporting in Luanda) and he tries to sell the company of transporting in Luanda for five years because of the bullshit in Angola and is not in the mood to have Angola Two movie with the UK.

We didn't have foreign tanker drivers. There is a shortage of these drivers right across Europe.
I've been driving for decades and it's not the first-time there has been delivery issues to fuel stations, this current issues was caused by BP reporting that they had to close down a handful of fuel stations.
