Donald Whitcomb: Very interesting thing, all on small wires, records. [adjusts microphone] One spool can last one hour and you can play many times, never wear out, always same as original. See, wire very small wire, magnetic, it, eh... makes magnetism on wire like magnet, electric current creates magnetic wire.

DW: Allright...
Gurdjieff: And you, ust buy one such at once, necessary send to everybody.
DW: Hmhm...
Gurdjieff: With a big speaker...
DW: Yes, it's much clearer with a big amplifier, a big speaker, you get more exact tone.
Mme. de Salzmann: You could send it for Bennett? When Bennett will be here after five days he is going away, if you sish to send with hi.
Gurdjieff: Not go France?
Mme. de Salzmann: Well, to England and from England all the time every day people are going to Paris.
Gurdjieff: Then you see one better and three more you order, and then how possible send.

Woman: For my business I use the tape...

I've listened to this recording many times but never got the whole conversation. Thanks for the hard work you much have put into it.
They talk constantly instead of allowing Mr. G to talk! He was less than one year away from his death, very old and weak already. -- Plus they do say that his voice that day was not his usual voice.
70 years ago. Wow. Those old wire recorders were amazing for their time. The wire easily unspooled though and you’d have a mess. I can believe it is Gurdjieff’s voice. Who are the other people on the recording? Almost sounds like a recorder salesman.

So funny to here them talk about how your own voice always sounds different when recorded and how you dislike hearing yourself
When I awaken from sleep my senses attach to the environment. Hearing, seeing, feeling, smelling, tasting is automatic. It needs no effort on my part to engage with what's around me.
The senses and what is being sensed are connected by the electromagnetic energy thru my nerves to the brain.
Its here where the seat of self assembles the world.
This is the world I live in. However, at times I can sense the process of my awareness interaction. It's in those flashes of witnessing that self remembering can function. Divided attention. Experiencing the world while witnessing the awareness of the source of that consciousness. Sensing the body as a whole while engaged with the outer world.
Briefly...
But then..
Subtle return to automatic functionality.
Tensions within the body return blocking the practice.
Today I wish to remember myself.
My aim.
Daily.
But today im tired and its difficult to focus. I only remember the aim.
Practice is sparse.
Thinking about self remembering does not help. I must allow energy to recover. Thinking that I'm practicing self remembering is not self remembering. 75% inner attention 25% outer. What Jeanne de Salzmann said.
