To celebrate 20 years of Disney On Broadway, ABC aired “Backstage with Disney on Broadway: Celebrating 20 Years.” The special, hosted by Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family), gave unprecedented backstage access with the Broadway casts of Disney’s “The Lion King," “Aladdin” and the North American Tour of “Newsies”. “Backstage with Disney on Broadway: Celebrating 20 Years,” also featured music from the Disney on Broadway catalog, including special musical performances from Sir Elton John, Sam Palladio and Clare Bowen (ABC’s “Nashville”), Ashley Brown (“Mary Poppins”) and Darren Criss (“Glee”). The special aired on December 14, 2014.
ALADDIN, adapted from the 1992 animated Disney film and centuries-old folktales,” is brought to fresh theatrical life in this bold new musical. Aladdin’s journey sweeps audiences into an exotic world of daring adventure, classic comedy and timeless romance. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw, with an award-winning production team and star studded cast, ALADDIN is, as NBC-TV declares, “Exactly what you wished for!”
seven years ago, he was sitting in his room filming himself singing disney covers. now he's professionally recording them with disney on broadway.

I don't think I would like him as Aladdin. While he does have some POC in him, he does also have white passing privilege and I am a firm believer that POC characters should be played by POC people.
But maybe as like a new Disney prince he could be hella cool.

Darren voice kills me, his voice is so amazing and soothing and this just reminds me of the shaggy hair hobbit who made Disney covers on UA-cam. The great thing about Glee ending there will be more Darren work and this video proves he should be back on Broadway longer

Acoustic covers of Disney anthems has been Darren's thing for a long time... And this blew me away. I respect him so much as a musician. And the fact that he is singing my favorite... Totally awesome.

I began watching Glee after having seen Darren's cover of Somebody I Used To Know on Glee :) I have been a fan of him ever since, even though I know that I will never get to go to one of his shows :(
Darren did such a nice job here. It would be wonderful to see him on stage again, hopefully for a longer run than the three weeks he had in “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.” That was January 2012, nearly three years ago! I’m sure people have been talking to him, now that Glee is finishing filming. He just needs to match the right production with his talent.

Lol I was watching this vid (with headphones on) waiting outside my classroom for my class to start when my friend snuck up behind me and screamed so loud and was like "OMG IT'S DARREN CRISS!!!" and it startled me (and I think a few other people too) to where I spilled my drink practically all over me. Not fun, but I plan to get her back. Now that I think of it, it's a pretty funny moment :P
