    Good stuff Tom. Will be nice to hear your thoughts after a few months following a hybrid of BBR + your own training.

    That's good stuff you do here. I especially like it when you criticize your own performance. It's tough to do, but very helpful. It draws attention to those hard to perceive but important mistakes all of us do. Thanks man.

    How to progress this type of workout? For example it says 3 sets of 5-8. If you did 3 sets of 8 on week 1, what would you do on week 2? Is its best to just go with whatever setup has most volume?
    For example instead of increasing to 3x9 is it better to do 4x7 or 5x6?
    Cheers mate love your channel

    Warm-up is important it also helps you to build up that "mind-muscle connection"
    Do it

    Those pelican curls surprised me on how tough they really were haha. I started doing them as a progression to one day doing the elevator or Pelican Stage 3.

    Hey Tom, just checking out this older video after a reference FitnessFAQ made to pelican curls. I wonder do you still use this interest mobility approach in your training? I understand Coach Sommer from Gymnastic Bodies recommends this approach... Your narration and editing has definitely improved since this series BTW

    • @BodyweightWarrior
      @BodyweightWarrior  8 років тому +3

      Yes definitely have changed here. Interset mobility can make you weaker during that session as it essentially shuts off mind muscle connection. I personally do all my mobility at the end of a workout now unless it's needed to perform the exercises. Ah thanks man, always funny when people comment on these ;)

    Thx Tom, great videos and very helpful. I'm struggling to find the right set up for the pelican curls, any tips on ring height or starting distance from the rings? Also scapula position? Protracted throughout or do you release and allow to retract when moving forward? thx

    • @BodyweightWarrior
      @BodyweightWarrior  8 років тому

      +jimmy laremore no worries brother. I'd start with the rings between waist and chest height and standing directly below and then leaning forward to perform the curl. To make it harder you can lower the rings or step backwards :) Definitely scapula depression and would recommend trying to maintain a hollowbody position (protracted scapula) throughout with glutes and core tensed (no bananas). Good luck bro

    I'm a little confused about the Pelican Curles as I understand it this is a chest and shoulder exercies and that makes sence, but it is just such a strange movement for what part of the muscles is this optimal?

    • @BodyweightWarrior
      @BodyweightWarrior  7 років тому

      It's part of the bigger movement of the pelican push up which is mostly shoulders, chest and biceps focused, however, doing just the curl aspect make it more focused on biceps with a little bit of chest. It works nicely, give it a try and see how you like it :)
