Thanks a lot Denis. Excellent teaching. Got the technique in a minute. Can bend the note a full tone.
denis your one of the coolest flutist and one of the best but also one with the weirdest embochure...
Dariel Pabellar I have shit embouchure too.. Somehow i can play?? Wtf?
He has a right to his opinion and Dariel is correct. That embouchure is strange at best even though people do play on the side of their mouths and they find it to be ok. My reply is people have a right to their opinions and should NOT be shamed for having a DAMN OPINION.
I think Golway has asymetrical embouchure too
And Moyse, Rampal, Debost…where does the right angle exist in organic nature?
I recommend trying this on a glass bottle to learn the mechanics of it. With a full bottle you can drop a whole octave down! You can do this by covering more of the hole with your bottom lip and directing the air down.
I love this!
is that like air bending? water bending?
i just wanted to know if it's possible because i'm bending it in my midi controller and it sounds cool. thanks
This guy has a very unusual mouth position, having the corners of his mouth up (like smile) and playing with only one side of his mouth.
Not terribly easy. But with quality time and effort, very doable.
Musikhochschule Freiburg! :)

perfect lips moving when you bending up but this lips move more difficalt
Great flutist... but i don't understand the usefulness of this exercise for a flutist (for example like me) that don't stretch the corners of the mouth and has a quite completely relaxed embochure...
So it is basically. : D : ) : | : ( : P. Breath : -o. Simple enough :) : -D
Your comment is so cute I love it!!!!
really can't understand how to do this :(
It is the equivalent of rolling the head joint, but he does it with the lips.
@Lina. You might need to have your lips in a less 'smiley" position with your lips able to move freely.
