Gymnopédie (using guitar pedals for lo-fi textures)

- I was wondering "how would it sound the saddest song with the saddest texture?"
I was testing the added texture of both El Capistan and Shallow Water pedals in keys. The organelle is running thru the SW and the Reface CP goes thru El Capistan.
At the end a mistake made me laugh, I need to study more this song! But I really enjoy the sound texture.
i love the giggle at messing up very relatable and adds something cosy
I would buy an entire album of this to put me at sleep
Same
Haroumi Hosono - Watering A Flower
Or anything from the Japanese 80s ambient scene, really.
Satsuki Shibano even made an album of Satie compositions but it's more literal than this

@@VuotoPneumaNNthanks for the recommandations
wow that reface is a serious good instrument
Yes it is!!
It's incredible and inspiring that you can own an instrument like that for 350$
@@aclyte2679does it respond to velocity ?

Absolutely beautiful, that organelle vibraphone type patch is incredible
CP is the greatest budget e-piano. That organelle has some interesting sounds too!
C que
this beautiful. deserves way more views. keep at it friend.
Hey thanks!
Oh yay that’s what this song is called
I love how simple it is it just exists there and you don’t need to add lots of things to it
UA-camr: stops recording after the first mistake
Me: 🤝 I understand you
The second the first note was hit I thought I was listening to Who Can You Trust
Beautiful! I recently did a Gymnopédie No1 thing as well though I've not finished it.
I don't really consider it just a sad song- it feels like 'saudade' to me!
I'll hear it!
Sounds great! I want the whole piece!
Ahh...nearly! I know the feeling! Honest of you to put it up. Sounds brill.
Smoothly beautiful ... cheers dude
Thank you kindly
That's about how far I got into Gymnopedie.
Try to listen to a great piano version of it, on headphones, at night.
It’s such a gorgeous meditation.
this is very nice! wish you would have kept that nice dissonant chord at the end and just kept going. I love a good sour note thrown in unexpectedly.
spending all this money on gear to achieve the perfect imperfect tone... right there with you, very well done
This has a criminally low number of views. Beautiful rendition
really nice. I love my cp. Just liked and subbed!
I love it too!
please keep uploading!! you have something in you!!
Gymnopedie for stoners
So stoner, that I didn't finish 😅
as if the original wasnt
very 70s sounding with boards of canada type of texture and effects to the sound.
Wooah, things got dark there.
Hi Alberto, we love the texture, could you make the full song? that'd be awesome. (We have this weekly dance session and we like to play something smooth with granular textures at the end of a dynamic set. That would work beautifully!)
This could be the most chill thing ive evee heard. I'm not sure you could make something more lowkey
Man very nice video bravo
Would be great if somebody uploaded the full song with these effects.
A good way to think about it, a guitar pedal is just a standalone analog audio processor, with a foot switch. A man can really make an analog console with just guitar pedals and turnout a pretty adequate mix.
Wonderful.
Thank you! Cheers!
I always mess up at that part of the song too haha
this song's super long and has a ton of chord changes so i only really ever get that first part
super pretty though! i love the instrumentation...
Love the performance but disagree it's the saddest song! This is quite a happy song to me lol
Nice.
Petsonal taste would would have less sustain and warble on the higher pitched notes. Just toned down a touch. Bit that's a very minor gripe
Lovely work on this Alberto !
Incredible !! Where did you get the suitcase/stand?
i love CP
So nice!
Is that sweden by c418? It sounds just like it, brings me back
Nice little set up
Nice nostalgic vine 👍😎
You need to post this like a audio video pls
I add a wah pedal recently to the Reface CP and it sounds great.
amazing!
This sounds great. Except personally I'd exclude the note-bending.
Sounds lovely! What patch are you using on the Organelle?
Thanks 🙏
It's "Sampler with delay" and I loaded vibraphone samples. The wobbly sound is from the Shallow Water pedal
for my taste its a bit too much with tremolo effect, but i love the video!
How do you supply power for all devices? Looks like a very practical setup!
Thanks! Just a multi-contact plug underneath
Awesome.
liked for the mistake
Amazing !!! 😍
More technical question - what kind of case is this ? Wish to have similar setup with my pedals and Yamaha Reface
Hi! I don't remember exactly which model is. But it's a DJ flight case, Magma.
I love it. i will hook it up to pigments and push 3 and see what I can do within next 2 months.
That was promising till the fuckup damn! Rig certainly makes sense
Ikr? lol And I haven't finish learning it yet :P
@@albertoromero3431 Haha fair enough. Nice touch so far :-)
so cool!!! :D
Quick question for yah, where did you get that awesome flight case? And... Does it fit the reface and the keystep together inside?
Thanks! It's brand Magma, originally intended for a DJ turntable and a laptop. I no longer have the Reface because it wasn't fitting, but another of my friends has a flight case that fits. Just be sure to double check the internal height of the upper stage.
@@albertoromero3431 thanks so much for the reply and taking the time to respond.
@@infn8loopmusic My pleasure. Btw, I intended to say I no longer have the Keystep. Also I changed the Shallow Water and Capistan for Meris LVX. If you do your own version let me know to see it!
What vibraphone slap is that
Gymnopedie for the backrooms
Hey, great setup. Great playing. Love it. Can you please tell me what kind of case do you use? I have a dawless setup similar to yours but I struggle with finding a case like this. Thank you.
Thank you Hristian. This is a flight hard case for a DJ mixer, which conveniently was almost the same length as the Reface. However you might need to double check the dimensions. The one I have can't be closed with everything I have on the top, and just for an inch.
Очень красиво)
🥰
That music sounds very 70'ish
Thats a tricky piece, not an easy one for sure
this is awesomeeee
Nice
Not easy to play... Please try to play the full version ❤
Nice! What was the name of the song again?
Thank you! Gymnopedie by Erik Satie
@@albertoromero3431 Thanks!
Erik Satie 🇫🇷.
Hi nice cover ! Which patch are you using on the organelle ?
Hi Arthur. I used the sampler but loaded my own vibraphone samples. The shallow water is connected after the organelle and help to give this mellotron texture :)
Tres acordes
How did you get the crackle?
I'd guess the organelle, but seeing the laptop it's prob coming from something on the DAW
Hi! It's a sample I think
..ok? that was cute... not subscribing
Your message was cute too
Glad you thought so. Go ahead and delete your channel and sell the gear. you have no future doing music lol @@albertoromero3431

you're good. mistakes are part of life. UA-cam is full of videos of musicians playing everything. exceptional beings. very difficult scales, latest generation musical techniques.....but......they never play anything. Zero. They run quickly from one side of the musical octaves to the other, but they don't play anything. You have chosen a very particular musical author and you have brought out sounds of your taste.... there is research, there is interest, there is imagination, there is love for music and yes!!!!! there is also the error. I like !!!! I congratulate you. And may God make all karaoke musical backing tracks, Midi musical backgrounds, etc. etc. disappear from the earth... in this world of guitar samples... keyboard samples, percussion samples... etc. etc....I saw your video and it gave me hope that some human being, some musician in the soul, still exists.

Very inspiring message, thanks for the kind words
@@albertoromero3431 You deserve these phrases which are only the observation of a reality: being an artist at heart that surpasses the passage of time. The "words" are lost in space and time like "tears in the rain". (from the film Blade Runner) . one word, he doesn't say anything like sings, Carlos Varela.....una palabra. Ciao da Roma ...!!!!
