- #PepsiBattleOfTheBands kicks off with auditions of tons of talented bands! The judges are looking for the top bands that will be shortlisted to continue in Main Rounds to battle it out for the top spot. With the winner of #PepsiBattleOfTheBands set to get the music record deal of a lifetime, the contestants bring their A-game to impress the judges panel consisting of Meesha Shafi, Fawad Khan and Farooq Ahmed (previous winner of Pepsi Battle of the Bands).

Loved it.....there was so much versatility and talent....have always been a fan of Pakistani music since my very childhood.....back then my inspirations were Jal, Call, Strings, Roxen and then some underground artists.......have been following Coke studio keenly...love bands like Kaavish, Qayaaz, Noori...and now this.....would love to see things really change one day between the 2 nations through Music and akin.....you guys honestly have the creativity in you.....I am a singer songwriter now and I owe a part of my inspiration to a song by Jal called 'Ik din ayega' that goes like 'Ki dil tu rona nahi, ki khwaab adhoore nahi, ki armaan saare tere, honge poore kabhi..........Ik din ayega tu yu gayega....ohohohohoh.......ohohohooh.......and the instrumental part follows'........I used to get the visuals of myself performing in front of an audience while listening to this song and these very lines....when I was like 12-13....so just would like to thank them and many others........

A very energetic performance by NAKSH. Not only the female lead vocalist brings new feel to the sound but she’s also remarkably good. Not too excited by POSITIVE cuz of their monotone and one-directional sound. JASIM & THE PINDI BOYS has the most confident performance so far. Kudos to their creative songwriter. Their lead vocalist reminded me of Bob Dylan cuz of the harmonica. KASHMIR looked like proper stage musicians though the lead vocalist seemed less enthusiastic. Wished the band had a longer guitar solo cuz it sounded too good. I think KASHMIR had the best drummer and the best lead guitar player in this episode. MADLOCK casts a shadow of mystery. Not due to an undefined name but due to the ear-pleasing voice by the lead vocalist. Haven’t heard anything like it. SHAJR’s performance made me forget that they’re doing a cover song cuz they sounded so different and sprightly amazing. Their guitarist needs to explore more riffs. AURA was visibly a very well-rehearsed band and had the best original song in this episode. Despite the Coldplay influence, they sounded very harmonized and made me want to hear more from them. OB POSITIVE were good. They’re really good but I don’t think they’ll have an edge in the competition if they won’t be instrument-oriented.
FINAL COMMENTS: All bands (except KASHMIR and SHAJR) lacked stage presence and seemed reluctant to move. Stage performance is one of the most important aspects of a band. Good luck to all of you.

Umar Farooq fawad can give better Insight considering he has 10+ years of being a lead vocalist of a band. this is not pakistani idol. its Battle of the bands. they have to mentor them and help create thier destinctive sounds and give Insight on how to manage the band and thier performance especially on tour and live with instruments. fawad has experience his band was In top 2 and more popular than the winner. stop being a hater when it comes to live performances EP and Noori are the best.

Was so overwhelmed and emotional, felt nostalgic the entire 60mins! It took me back to 2002 when I was just 13. It took one and a half decade to have the same thing back but the dreadful thing is that, this time just 100 bands showed up in the initial stage of the contest while 172 bands were registered back in 2002. I hope this BOB produces some good bands like Aaroh(my favorite), EP, MHB, AKS and Azal produced in 2002! Thanks to Pepsi as well who's helping out the bands to show their talent! Pakistan Zindabad!
