About the song
From original video
This track marks my first entirely independent free of management release in years, it feels so good to have total control. Coming at this with a brand new energy. All written, produced, played, mixed and mastered by yours truly.
In the spirit of independence the absolute best thing you guys can do is share the absolute crap out of this tune. Play it loud, lots of new music coming very soon!
Gettttttit!
#Dicodec #renreaction #power
Yoooooo enjoyed watching your break down of my track so much!! love that youre isolating and breaking down the stems, it was indeed a fender P bass! good ears
Dude… this means so much that you took the time to watch this and respond. Keep up the amazing work! If you ever want to send stems I would love to use for the next breakdown 🙃
@@dicodec Yeah I dig the production breakdowns. Gonna steal a couple of those ideas... Nice improv too.
I love that you support your reactors in this way Ren. Focus on your health mate, we need you back in blighty 🙏❤️
@@BinaryDad hell yea! And I am sure it will be way better than mine 😅
@@dicodec I've been waiting for Ren to comment on your reaction, as I knew he would soon enough. Very much a badge of honour/tick of approval when he does. Congrats man.
Really like the way you break out the individual parts; it really increases my appreciation of the song. There is a lot I don’t catch in a casual listen. I have minimal music background and zero knowledge of music production so I think it is amazing that you can tease out the chords and then riff along with it on your guitar.
Never apologize for the improv! I’ve seen many reactors pick up their instruments and
pick out what he is playing but you did that then took it and ran with it! Jamming❤ which was 🔥
Thanks Caro! I always worry about boring people lol
i agree. i enjoyed that improv a bot more than i should. you and ren should do a jam session
The driver is Sam who does his videos. Awesome reaction... so much fun the way you break down and isolate the sounds.
Thank you for watching DANA!
You and Knox will always be my go-to for Ren reaction. Thoroughly enjoy your production breakdown. Keep ‘em comin’. ♥️
oh wow! To even be considered in the same sentence as Knox means a lot
Michael Goyette out of Canada is another great one for breaking down guitar lines, techniques, etc He was a studio guitar player, played in a few bands and still performs now and again. A very pleasant soft spoken fellow. Give him a follow eh?
@@annasaunders5554 Another big solid vote for Michael Goyette's channel from me!
That would be Ren on the guitar and the bass. Dude is so talented!
Very!
🙋
Great reaction with a fab guitar freestyle at the end!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for watching wolff!
Love this reaction bro! I love how you make so many comments on Ren's production, all the while the production of your reactions are pretty up there too! They way you break it down, isolate things so we can hear things we might have missed before, and even the way you edit and transition your reaction. I normally don't like it when people edit their reactions, takes the realness away. But the way you break it down makes the way you edit work really well! Keep being you bro 👌🤌👏🔥❤️
P.s. rad little solo at the end 👌🤌👏🔥❤️
Thank you so much for watching, I appreciate the Kind words! I only edit out long silences, and me fumbling around (like plugging in my guitar)
Loved this, I had no idea about the real bass or effects you mentioned. It's so great to hear it stripped back and broken down by someone who understands it all. Love the this one made you smile!
Always great to see Ren having a bit of fun! I'll tell you what I think you'd REALLY enjoy, and that is the music video for The Big Push's original song 'Why my Woman'. Ren has a TON of fun in that one.. 😂😂😂
'It's almost like Ren knows what he's doing musically'. Ha! Indeed. 😅
Thank you for watching, I wrote it down right now!
@@dicodec Cool, thanks! You'll have fun with it for sure 😉
So many Easter eggs in that!
@@NilZed1 it's brilliant, aye? 😃
I concur!
With the new obsession I have of watching reactions since discovering Ren, it’s nice to find yours is a bit unique with your breakdowns of the layers in producing the music. I’d never even given it a thought about what instruments were real in there and neither have any of the other reactors I’ve seen. Loving it so far!
The production breakdown sets your channel apart. I hope Ren himself sees some of these reactions. He would appreciate it so much!
He just saw this one!!!
@Dicodec so cool! He's probably getting used to people breaking down his lyrics now, but nobody else is doing what you're doing!
What a great way of starting a Sunday morning! Positive vibe, for sure!
Thanks for playing Ren! But also for making me listen more carefully to what's going on "in his music"...if that make any sense!
Saludos desde Valencia España ✌️
Thank you for watching! much love ❤️
Shout out to the 'driver' Samuel Perry-Falvey. The famous cinematographer of so many of Ren's great songs !!❤
Your joy and genuine appreciation of Ren and his never-ending list of talents is so great to watch. I watch your videos with a huge smile on my face 😁. So excited to see all your new Ren videos! Loved your improv at the end there!❤
Oh are you gonna love What You Want! For something a little different - his Love Music series (1,2, & 3 - but 3 at the very least). The Big Push - Wade in the water / Nina simone / Trouble so hard is fantastic and Ren is on bass!. We're having so much fun with your reactions - loved your jam at the end.
I never liked rap and hip hop until I heard Ren apart from a few outstanding tracks. I can't be bothered with most rap these days. I find it quite boring. Ren is the opposite to boring. Great reaction.
i really enjoyed this reaction/analysis
Thank you Keith!
Another awesome reaction. Love the way you break down the sounds and expertise in the production. 🔥✌️
What you want, might be the next you want to check out 😉
Another fun 90s sounding track 🔥🔥🔥
Great reaction as ever and some nice guitar solo at the end 👍🔥
Thank you for watching! Appreciate it

I liked hearing you jam to this.
@@sketchtherapy1218 thank you!
I think you would really enjoy 1990s. It’s another fun one with a lot of throwbacks. I enjoy both the official video and there’s one with just Ren on an acoustic guitar with some fun modifications.
@@dicodec Just finished watching the two I didn't get to last night... loved them all.
@@GarnetJ facts
Yours have become my favorite reactions. ❤️
Really? Thank you so much man!
@@dicodec I absolutely love the breakdowns you do of the sound design. Fascinating, as I have zero understanding of sound engineering.
Really enjoyed this, first time listener, looking forward to see you break down more ren stuff, kids a genius. Guitar improv boss. Sending good fives from Liverpool
Спасибо 🙏👏👏👏👏💐❤️😁
Nice! I loved seeing you jam with Ren!
aww thanks spell caster!
Your improv was *perfect* on this track.
Way to ride off into the sunset! Loved that breakdown and improv!
nice! I love the break down you're doing here. Excellent track ofc. You should definitely check out Ren's Dominos, Everybody Drops and his Rap re take on Losing It by Fisher.
He please their communal base on the Big Push 'Wade in the Water / Nina Simone / trouble no more' video. I assume it might be the same base here? Amazing reaction, again. Love to hear the song through your ears. Thank you for your knowledge and enthusiasm. Love the jamming too.
As a lot of others have said - love the way you isolate parts which is really cool. Cheers from Nottingham, UK 🇬🇧
Love your insight in the production techniques, just one thing irritates me, you refer to "they" as there was a team producing it, Ren does it himself so "he" would be more accurate.
❤ Just wanted to mention, not only do I love that your heart and soul gets so deeply touched (Chalk Outlines) .... But what makes your reactions so powerful and amazing to listen to, is when you isolate certain sounds and voices .... It allows me to listen even deeper to the sounds as it matches the lyrics. Thank you.
Not many artists interact with reactors the way Ren does. He really gets it. And of course - great reaction as always!
He's such a good producer, I feel reactors sleep on this.
They hear him sing, play guitar, rap and write but the same guy is opening up his DAW incooperating his own instruments and producing these beats and it's overlooked.
The guy is a phenomenal producer and your picking up on so many techniques as a producer yourself.
He's able to switch kadence and flow so well because he produces his tracks to facilitate his creativity and it works
There's a twitch stream where he says I'll show my beat making process one day if anyone's interested in that, he's the full package
I WANT TO SEE THAT !
First class breakdown. Thanks, man.
I upped the volume when you came in with the sick soloutro
Love this track and love your jamming session at the end ❤
love your improv, which fit right in from the get-go, great finger-work too! love your breakdowns man, makes me appreciate Ren's talent EVEN more! 😅
Hi. As somebody who loves music, but hasn't got an ear sophisticated enough to know why, its great to have you explain the nuisances that show me why I like what I do. Cheers.
Bro... you Gotta do his Fatboy Slim one shot retake of Right Here, Right Now!!!
I’d love to see you break down the tales, there’s so much going on with the storytelling almost no one comments on the music - I love your breakdowns so much, I learn a ton! Thank you :)
I got you leeann coming soon!
Also loved you jamming to it! How many modern rap songs could be played along with like that?!
NOT MANY! It was fun to jam to, it helps when the track is awesome to play too
Love your reaction - not just how you isolate the sounds we hear (which then helps "tune" my ears to hearing it on further listens and so adds to my enjoyment) but also when you a visual of it like the monitor showing the drum beats. Your jamming session at the end with the guitar was ace - I think you'd have fit in well with The Big Push!
I love Power for giving me the drive & focus to get on with shit I've been putting off, as well as just generally giving me Renergy and an up vibe.
Recommendation for another "up" Ren flavour is Humble ft Eden Nash
❤️ Thank you Vanessa! I appreciate the kind words!
I so enjoyed your excitement during this. You look at music through your lens which is different. Love the energy and excitement. 😊😊
Loved this reaction. You analyse/ react in an interesting way. Deconstructing the music… so interesting.
Excellent, listening to this while logging in medication at work, I love your excitedness ❤ 🎉
Yes, really good start to my Sunday. Love your music knowledge taste and enthusiasm
Really looking forward to you finding “losing it” or “the hunger” for flow change masterclasses. He didn’t make the beat in losing it though so not sure if you’ll enjoy it as much.
For absolute peak Ren you need to do “humble” that has rapping and singing Ren
Yey! Educational analysis, as always. But looooved listening to you jammin' along...
Great one, thank you, sir!
No wonder Ren liked this one. Love the details you notice, makes me appreciate the song anew. Enjoyed the guitar at the end too.
Wanna see Ren on the Bass? Maybe check The Big Push - Wade in the water / Nina simone / Trouble so hard
Рада встрече с тобой, Алан, и интересной музыкой!😊
Great reaction and guitar accompaniment 👍🇬🇧👏🏻🔥
Gotta check out his songs love music 1-2-3
I really love your strip backs and loved your little improv piece at the end there ❤
Another great reaction! Thanks so much, cant wait to see which one you pick next 😁.
I loved watching you play ❤❤
thank you Lynda ❤️
I laughed out loud when you said, "It's almost like Ren knows what he is doing musically!" 😂❤ Love the humor and your breaksowns are SO good! I never would have caught that was a live bass line but now it stands out so clearly.
Two for two of these! I’m amazed and lucky I’m still up in California!
Yea i posted this kinda late , cant sleep
LOVE it! Especially the last part. Your guitar is awesome
Hope Ren gets to hear that solo, he'd love it :D
Awesome reaction ❤❤❤❤
Thank you Maria!
Great somg
Smooth little jam there at the end. Loved it.
Loved your little guitar jam !
This is one of my favorites! It’s such a fun vibe. With all he’s been through, it’s amazing that he can channel his experience through such a lighthearted energy. I agree - I really enjoy his rapping style. He not only switches up the flows, rhyme schemes, and candences, but it’s also really melodic.
And it’s definitely a song to jam in the car 😉 I love that he has his film buddy Samuel Perry-Falvey in the car with him (the guy who does a lot of his videos).
I enjoy how you isolate the tracks. Ren said this was the first song that he did completely independently, including all of the production, mixing and mastering.
Yea I saw that in the video description about it being the first one he did independent. AND YES the RAP is really melodic and I failed to mention that, good call!
What a fun and educational reaction! 🌟🌻🎶😊
And Genesis!!!
Hey man! I loved genesis here is my reaction right here ua-cam.com/video/9tk5aDrtym0/v-deo.html
Only ever seen him with a P-Bass, and that sounds like a P to me.
Only change I would make is playing the line all the way through the song instead of looping it, but I’ll take it…
Great reaction! I always love your breakdowns and that improv kicked!
Another Great reaction!! And nice guitar work yourself!!
Wow. Loved your reaction. Learnt so much. Keep on the Ren train. Amazing
Would love to sew you do Fire, Dominoes, Depression, Insomnia also from Ren. Great, great breakdown!
Jeez your breakdowns are so amazing!
I know you said you’ve seen the Jenny screech violet trilogy but we NEED your breakdown on it!
Video is also horizontally flipped. Perhaps to identify better to "westerners"?
Totally get you wwith the 90s kadence. He has a totally 90s vibe (down to hoop earrings). Listening on my Cornwalls/luxman 507z
Y'know what. This was a great reaction. But my favourite part was your little guitar jam at the end. Smooth AF.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!! I hadn’t heard it til just now!! I’m new to Ren (not even a month) and I’ve also been diving into Chinchilla and Sam Tompkins too after hearing duets.
Another brilliant Ren musical breakdown. I've got the full set of reactors now. I've got a load of great emotionally skilled reactors. I've also got Knox Hill for catching every bar and his great knowledge of the UK.👍 And now I've discovered you, through Ren, an absolutely, unbelievably musically talented reactor who leaves me in awe of his knowledge and guitar playing.😁 Now I actually know why I love Ren.😁
Awsome breakdown! You should check his song What you want, his homage to Beastie Boys. Also his song 1990 for full on 90's nostalgia vibe!
Your improv was killing it man. Love your ren reacts, keep em coming. 'Losing it' up next?
I got it down!
@@dicodec Thanks Mate (M8) from downunder where Fisher is from... Paul Nicholas Fisher, known by the stage name Fisher (stylised as FISHER) is an Australian music producer. He was nominated for the 2018 ARIA Award for Best Dance Release as well as the Best Dance Recording category at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards for his solo single "Losing It".
Dicidec - "It's like old-school but not."
Ren, later in the song "My style is old-school but I swear this ain't a throw back."
Pretty sure you nailed it.
And, DUDE, can we talk about your impromptu guitar solo at the end? Perfection!
Loved the jamming in the end, that's when you KNOW the music hit, when you have to pick up a guitar and play along.
Great reaction ❤more Ren
How the heck did you pick he was using a real bass guitar??? Amazing.
Absolute top notch breakdown of the track. Loving your channel brother, something different in reactions and obviously staying true to yourself 🙏Happy or heartfelt, I'm here for it 🙌
I'm loving your Ren reactions and how emotional you get on some of them. Can I suggest you breakdown Crutch by Ren ft. Bibi. I think you'll love this track
My man! You really need to react to his song "What do you Want?" It's s a throwback to Beastie Boys song "Whatcha Want?". It totally makes me think I'm watching a video from the early '90's. And the camera work is insane! By the way, I love your in depth reactions! Keep em coming!
If you want more "Fun" from Ren, check out a track called "Girls". Always puts a smile on my face. 😁
Man that sounded ace xx
Great reaction. As always you provide so much insight into the music and it makes me appreciate you creative types even more! Thank you!!!!
If you want to hear him play the bass, you should check out Sympathy for the devil and Wade in the wster/Nina simone/Trouble so hard by The big push!
you should enjoy Humble by Ren feat. Eden > the mix of voices is amazing
Such a joyous reaction! Love the different isolations you pick and let us hear, it definitely adds something to the reaction experience that’s very unique to your channel.
His rapping style is definitely old school with a modern twist, he says so himself! I reckon you’d enjoy What You Want xx
Loved that Reaction Dicodec--you look like a kid at Christmas. Loved the way you riffed, too.
Dude!! I love your channel. ❤. I subscribed. :)
I get what you are meaning by 90's style but not. I have always had very eclectic taste in music. My main listening has always been rock and heavy metal with some dance and classical. But then heard Ren and so blown away by his guitar work (in Hi Ren) then I listened to the trilogy and my mind was blown. Ren is a bard. His music is so captivating.
You need to hear the song he has done with Eden Nash, Humble and Ocean. Keep being you.
This is such a fun little ride, and you're not wrong, the mix of the 90s vibe and the lack of 'bitch this, fuck that, bitch this, and bitch those' .. and yes, that's Ren on the bass, the guitar, and all the other effects.
Rewatching ❤️ please check out Ren ft Eden Nash they have 2 tracks together and I can't pick between the two humble or ocean both of them 🤯❤️ have a safe trip back an can't wait to watch animal flow with you that's gonna 🤯👍 too
I've listened to this track so many times already, but simply as a virtue of watching you break it down, it made me pay closer attention, and hearing Ren doing actual counterpoint style harmony in some of the doubled voice tracks just blew my mind, because it blends so seamlessly give an amazing vocal effect without being in your face, and yet it's so profoundly musical at the same time.
One thing that I love about Ren's music is how the reactor community keeps expanding my awareness of it, and showing me new depths. I can rely on different reactors to break down different elements, from the rhythms and rhymes of the rap schemes to the production, to the metaphors.
Thank you so much for bringing not just your enthusiasm and your expertise, but your own emotional rawness and insight.
