- We have the ability to special order items that we wouldn't normally stock in the store.
Here's an example of an esoteric model that one of our good customers had us obtain for him. As a bonus he let us do an unboxing video of it!
If you're ever looking for something that you suspect you won't find just sitting on a shelf in our shop please ask us if we can get it for you!
Gorgeous car !
Incredible model! My favorite race car ever. Thanks 🎸🔪
It's a beauty! I'm so glad I got to check it out!
That is one wicked kit! Thanks to the owner who let us see it.
I want to see him put it all back in!
@@rochgraveline5942 It all went back in flawlessly. It's that good! 😊
Incredible model! Definitely beyond my skills!
It is so well engineered and pre-decorated I think you could make a very good model out of this one!
Years ago I almost pulled the trigger on their Lamborghini Aventador kit. Would’ve loved to have been able to build it. This one’s a beauty too!
They are amazing!
Hey Bill, what a huge amazing kit, thank you and your customer for sharing it. I must say I was surprised to here you reference the Duesenberg, not many people remember that automobile. It was actually made in Indianapolis IN. Years ago Monogram made some beautiful kits of several of the different type cars . One of those in 1/8 scale would be incredible.
Of course like the old saying goes if you have to ask How much it cost you can't afford to buy it - but you never know I could put in on my Santa Claus list :-)
Hope all is well,
Cheers Bob
All is good! I was very happy to do this reveal, it might be the only time I ever hold something like this in my hands! I sold some of the Duesies when Pocher stopped producing and the prices were lower. They had thousands of parts. Every nut bolt and screw, every spring, sew your own upholstery and convertible tops (where applicable) and those 1/8 spoked wheels that you spoked yourself. OMG! I built a Monogram one decades ago, it was very nice! Take care
Are you kidding? You ever hear of Jay Leno? If so, then you and his million subscribers know Duesenberg - he won't let us forget. He used to show up Sunday AMs at Autobooks here in Burbank with the green one all the time. 👀
The amount of tooling that was created to make something like this. The foam packaging alone is over the top .
A Box inside a box, inside of a box, inside of a box, inside of a box, inside of a box and inside of a box.
I prefer the shorter version of the 917K without the two fins. The one Steve McQueen Nr.20 was driving in the Movie (Le Mans) from 1970 In Le Mans: Steve McQueen's role model was Jo Siffert. RIP
Just got mine last week, still sealed in the box!!!
Please send photos!
A little tip for you open the bottom of the outer box fold the flaps back and lift it off the kit box !
ua-cam.com/video/v4f9DJhPYAs/v-deo.htmlsi=MfLbbuzAtvikltyC I guess we’ve been pronouncing Pocher wrong all these years! From Pocher’s own feed! “pocker” it is then!😅
Thanks for that, man I really blew it, I have been pronouncing Porsche wrong for decades as well!
@@hobcen you and me both! Lol
Yuge!!!😂 Now try getting everything back in the box!!
Like putting toothpaste back in the tube!! 😂
I always wanted one of the ol vintage cars with all the separate spokes for the wheels! Fabric upholstery!! Etc.. gotta have a big man cave for a model like that!!👍🏻😬🫡🇺🇸
It all went back surprisingly easy. It is so well packed and everything is security taped up. Those old beasts were amazing, this newer simplified type kit is much more straight forward.
This would be like a perfect project for me, as I don't have the skills to paint a model and I feel like buying an assembled model is cheating. If I had the money, the space and weren't living in a 3rd world country, I'll buy this in a heartbeat.
I built the Ferrari Testarossa and Ferrari F40...incredible museum pieces.
@@johnmessina9721 Great stuff. Would you share some pics with us?
This looks more like one of those D'argento model kits that you get as a subscription and you put together with screws.
I get you. Those things get pretty pricey too when you total up all the components.
Nice that no painting is required
It is a stunning piece and I have been told there are after market upgrades available to go to that extra level of detail. I believe the purchaser is getting some of those, perhaps he'll let us do a feature on them as well.
you get the same one from IXO
I have the Pocher Bugatti, Alfa and Lotus in 1/8 and the Ducati in 1/4. The Lotus and Ducati are toys whereas the other 2 are 50 year old classics and brilliant. That Porsche is also toy-like and (in 1/8) is seriously lacking detail. I have already bought detail-up bits for the 2 'toys' and compiling a list of other detail additions.
Thanks for sharing!
why in a 10 minute video does it take nearly 8 mins to get to the main event ,likes his own voice
But we're cutting into the box at 1:40?
Well I like his voice and if I didn't I'd turn the volume down, you should try it sometime it's better than getting your knickers in a twist over it and being rude.
u have to build this?? frig that
@@peterago1082 If you want this car in this scale, maybe the only option?
Respectfully, it is pronounced POR - SHA, with the emphasis on the first syllable.
We got that. We had some nice viewers from Europe explain it to us. We like to learn from modelers all over the world!
Why the Heck every American or Canadian says "Porsch*???? It's a Porsch"e", so please say it german. Porsche is the Name and not Porsch. Thx.
Just the way we roll I guess, no offense intended. Is the the phonetic "portia"?
Yes, it is phonetically Portia …. So please try to say Porsche correctly …. And Jaguar is Jag u ar…. Not Jagwah….. it’s nice to get the pronunciation right. I was an agent for Pocher models … they were good but not great… lots of badly engineered / fitting parts but I’m sure they are much better now. It took quite a while to fettle the kit to get it to fit together
I’m English and I say Porsche (without the er). I also say Nike (without the ee, like bike).
@@jeremyhards1911 ok, it's up to you, but remember. The Word is a german Name and not an english Brand.
your Name is Jerem*e", not Jerem........right?
It’s big and not RC? What a waste.
Right? LOL
People who say Porsch-e are pretentious or German take you pick.
I understand how you could feel that way, but I was trained in 1986 by Porsche Cars North America as a professional manager. It is in fact pronounced POR - SHA, with the emphasis on the first syllable. These training materials were developed in Germany for the US market, coming straight from the factory.
