    I got a Brother ST150HDH for my birthday back in December, and usually looked up videos about it. I found your videos on it and learned how to set it up and use it from your videos. Thanks for that, by the way - INSANELY helpful! That led me to this playlist, and I found a copy of the Vogue V8990 pattern on eBay and made one of my own. Thank you for the time and effort you put into these videos, I love that they're not full of fluff and extra non-related info; straight to the point, educational, entertaining and easy to follow along with.

    I love your videos! I have tried so hard to get my hands on this pattern so I can make it. I’m terrible at pattern reading.

    Your machine embroidery video were so helpful and inspired me to try to do this now. Do you know of any messenger bag patterns like you used that are still available to be bought?

    I love this tutorial. Now that you're older & wiser, do you have tips on finishing the seams? Also, you're using pattern pieces 1 thru 8 for the bag structure, right?

      I'd love to remake these messanger bag tutorials since I've learned so much for over the years. It would be a huge overhaul, but could be totally worth it. Thanks so much for watching!

    I want to learn sewing....I am watching this video as part of my research to get a sewing machine, so far they are recommending Brother machines like the Cs5055prw. What kind of fabric are you using for this Wonder Woman bag? I have so much to learn.....it is a little overwhelming and exciting at the same time. Also, is there a website where I can download patterns? Do you have a video about fabrics and how to work with each of them?

      It's great that you're interested in sewing, I'm totally self taught, so I just kind of jumped in and started teaching myself along the way. Do what works for you, make your own projects, and learn through your own experiences. There isn't always a "correct" way to do things, that's up to you!
      Patterns you can get at the fabric store (or online), and just going to a fabric store is a great way to feel and get familiar with fabrics in general. Check out my video on how to read patterns for beginners, that might help a lot :)

    Is the padded separator made from the same cut as the flap facing A or is it the same cut as the Front and Back Lining?

    • @TockCustom
      @TockCustom  4 роки тому +1

      I think I did it from the Flap Facing panel, that way it will be a few inches shorter than the top of the bag.
      I seriously want to reshoot these videos, I've gotten so much better at making bags lol
      Thanks for watching!!

    Easy to follow. What weight interfacing did you use? Thanks

    • @TockCustom
      @TockCustom  5 років тому +3

      I use a "Mid-Heavyweight" interfacing on bags most of the time. Unless you use vinyl, then you don't need any at all :)

    Which of the ,4 bags are you doing? I thought it was C but the front is different from the pattern.

      It looks like he's using pieces 1 thru 8. He reuses piece 5, the flap facing, to make the yellow separator and to cut the front panel's one-piece interfacing & batting. (I am flailing through that part this week and will edit this if I'm wrong.)

    What kind of paper do you use for tracing the pattern pieces that are shown in the start of the video 0:51?

    • @TockCustom
      @TockCustom  4 роки тому +2

      There is a product called "Tracing Clothes" - I cover it in my "Sewing Tools for Beginners" video. That stuff is great! It doesn't stretch or warp, you can fold it away, and iron it flat when you're ready to use it. The brand I use is Pellon, but there are other types as well. There should be a link to it in my other video :)
      Great question, thanks for watching!

      Tock Custom Tock Custom thanks so much! I found some, but I am curious since the pattern doesn’t actually use quilt batting on the packaging, how much quilt batting do you need for this? Like, since the pattern packaging calls for cardboard and what not and I don’t need something that crazy, just a fun messenger bag made with some canvas on the outside and cotton in the inside. I need to make a couple of messenger bags and one is for my boss, who is the store manager. And yes, I’m nervous as hell because we work at the Green J craft store you probably got some of your stuff from. So, sorry for asking you, but I can’t exactly ask my coworkers without letting on I don’t know something I probably should.

    My pattern has the front pocket wider than the front facing and the other pocket shorter.

    Still dont know what interfacing is

    • @TockCustom
      @TockCustom  4 роки тому +6

      I should totally do a video on interfacing, batting, stabalizer, and webbing. That is an excellent idea!
      To answer your question, interfacing is a material that will fuse to fabric to give it a bit more body, or a little thicker. It also helps the fabric from wrinkling and staying nice and smooth over time.

      I like it more than the word Peplum... but some sewing words are more fun than others :P
