Fairies. He simply doesn't like the fact that armies are adopted by allies when a commander is assassinated. And so do I, for that matter. As an ally, it's not fun to stretch your attention span to breaking point by babysitting your dead neighbour's pets. As an opponent, it's not very satisfying to go through all the hassle of assassinating a commander, only to have his army fight on like it doesn't matter. Plus, it tends to make games atrociously lengthy.
As a new player to FAF, I just wish most noob games weren't on Astro or Dualgap (as only having to defend one lane takes a lot of strategy out of the game), but I guess team matchmaking may fix that.
I feel you, gap games are like some different, stripped down version of supcom where much of the best aspects are lost. I don't know why they are so popular but I believe they are slowly choking the life out of FAF. They just aren't satisfying to play and rarely lead to epic game play. Honestly, if it were up to me I'd ban gap games except on Sundays or something.
wubanizer Yes. FaF is a fairly difficult game. But instead of getting better a lot of people choose to get an easy to play map which indeed causes the best elements of supreme commander to get lost. The thing that worries me, is that new players are inclined to join these games because they are easily available. These maps need to be actively discouraged in my opinion.
@@TheFlypaste Dang. I remember way back in the day there was a multicore patch (can't remember the name) that helped a bit. I was hoping that there would be some kind of extension built on that.

1:56 Holy nuts, if galactic war is what I think it is (a dynamic campaign where you go game to game slowly conquering the galaxy) I'm super interested. I hope they go beyond bare bones though. Some type of progression of power would be great. Adding more interesting things like sub factions, events, and modifiers for games would be unbelievable.
Respect Foley's sufferings: but sometimes newb players are just gonna newb it up. Opponent suffered from the same of 'what do i do now?~" syndrome. turned out to be a glorious cluster F in the end. South Team after all was basically playing 2v3 for the longest time.
You must have either a resolution of 1600x900 or a big screen, to recognise the T Level. I guess 4K support means that the interface gets scaled 2 times, right?
Spoilers: please read this comment after watching the video. . . Project got his eco to 339 mass income and then kept it there for the rest of the game. If he had continued to grow his eco he probably would have won. He needed more eco to turtle better to protect his mavor and even to build a 2nd one. All he needed was a Quantum Gateway steadily churning out RAS Support Commanders. Also if full share hadn't been on, team 2 probably would have won. And no fairies would have died :)
The Seraphim campaign is insanely hard. I've beaten all of the original campaigns on hard multiple times fairly readily, and the first Seraphim mission stomped me repeatedly.

@@thelegacyofgaming2928 calm down, are we not allowed to slightly exaggerate to make a point? 🤷🏻♂️😉
@@diliff Don't you think it's you who needs to calm down? I wasn't the one calling others idiots.
436 hours of game time. Epic work faf team

@Gyle once again: What do you mean when you say fairies/ferries die when full share is on?
Those maps are terrible
Set some up on other maps. Most people are just waiting for someone else to do it.
Gyle done that million of times :)
Brilliant effects. Bravo whoever made the nukes and napalm.
How can you miss a nuke crater? :) Great job....
How many people are simultaneously online in this game?
The first part was quite good, once foley died, it started slow down a lot. The rock land invasion and foley death was quite entertaining.
When will the nomads actually be seen in the Gyle casts btw?
When we get even a single interesting game with them.
What happened to red after a middle? Fast finish?
Thanks for the upload Gyle. Question: has FAF fixed the lack of CPU multithreading in the original game?
the entire game would have to be rewritten from the ground up to fix that
@@TheFlypaste Dang. I remember way back in the day there was a multicore patch (can't remember the name) that helped a bit. I was hoping that there would be some kind of extension built on that.
@@davidmurakami164
Sorry to say, no, I don't think so. I believe there was a patch a few years ago that helped a bit but it's still not multithread.
multithreading is an intense rewrite. I think the LOUD project did something along those lines
Where can I get the originainstead of the steam version
Ah yes, Setons Clutch. We meet again!
Is this the best Supreme Commander game? and is the mod recommended for if I want to just start with singleplayer stuff?
New intro? Best map? Long video? Epic!
gg great battle i want to play this game now lol loved it
great game, and not much slow down either. thanks buddy
Us ANZ guys had a small 3v3 random map gen tourney, it was interesting. Some good maps, some bad ones, I managed to cast a bunch of 'em - was all about skill not map knowledge.
Side note: Suggest you message your Patreon members when a cast is available there, I did now know until you said it now.
Aj's for the win im defo bying this on the next sale
Yeah I don't blame Foley for the salt, won top, crippled two players, halted a game winning push from other team and died to a snipe that shouldn't have happened while protecting south side while his navy and nuke subs basically won the game. Basically Science and Foley carried the day, was rooting for Mouse while Aurand strategically postured.
1:13:15 air support?
Finally!! checked your channel 1 hour ago or so.. Nothing!
Thx for your casts. Epics are great. (havent watched yet.
THAT...was fucking INCREDIBLE!!!!!! Awesome Play Mize!! Great game all!
Foley with that insane 1v4 gameplay
may the great space sea take this one to the lunch he needs
and the beer he deserves
I happen to like that song thank you very much! lol
So I just got supreme commander 2 and I can’t find this map
Supreme commander 2 is an abomination, Supreme Commander Forged Alliance is the correct game
Gyle cast, on seatons life doesn't get better..
Respect Foley's sufferings: but sometimes newb players are just gonna newb it up. Opponent suffered from the same of 'what do i do now?~" syndrome. turned out to be a glorious cluster F in the end. South Team after all was basically playing 2v3 for the longest time.
Great caster. Love your videos.
You must have either a resolution of 1600x900 or a big screen, to recognise the T Level. I guess 4K support means that the interface gets scaled 2 times, right?
Great Cast Gyle like always :)
Spoilers: please read this comment after watching the video.

There's a lot going on that isn't getting shown here it seems, scout more!
The Seraphim campaign is insanely hard. I've beaten all of the original campaigns on hard multiple times fairly readily, and the first Seraphim mission stomped me repeatedly.
Still a great game, wish there was a modern version with bigger maps, bigger unit caps, updated graphics and such.
The game mechanics are the best of all RTS games by far.
Holy shit Mize confirmed for Gigachad
what do i need to ask for credit cards
Gyle do you have any plans for your channel if faf ever dies out?
God knows, it'd be a shame to let it all stop as i enjoy it but transitioning to something else is always tough.
Looks Like A Fun And In Depth Game
Mize wasn't the hero we wanted. but the one we needed.
what are the chances that I can play
this game with a pentium g4560, geforce 1030 and 8gb ram?
i saw a couple of games that lagged specially in big air engages bcs someone had a slow PC
The game was optimised for 11 year old hardware. Practically anything modern will run it, but nothing will run it well.
OOOOOOOH that bomber bait at 1:05:30
Crazy game! I was rooting for team one at first but then started rooting for team 2 after foly died aha! I love when science said "found the maven" ahahahaa
gotta love that backseat gaming from foley.
