I had been using a bad mask for years…After this video I bought Vitera which fits perfectly with my long beard. I haven’t been sleeping so good since a long long time!thank you sooo much!!
All the masks fit well straight up and have little if any leakage. I wear a F20 and I am a side sleeper no matter how tight the straps are I still get leaks and the mask even slide up over bottom lip and also causes alot of dry eyes
Thanks for your input on those masks. I tried the Dreamware Full face mask with no luck same as you. I have a goatee style beard and have the Resmed F20 Airtouch. My pressure at it’s highest is 15, but it still seals great and apnea’s are at 3.5 or below. I guess it’s just depends on you physical face makeup that helps as well on what will work for you.
Hi, I have been using a bipap machine for 15 years at high pressure with a medium beard. Started with pressure 20/16 and had bad leaking problems for all those years using the f20 and many full face masks. Finally this year my dr. lowered my pressures to 14/11 and I tried the F30 but could not get from a dry throat. I use a Resme aircurve 10 bipap with heated hose. I have ordered the Vitera mask and should be here tomorrow. Will give you a heads up on how it works for me. This has been a long hard journey. I have Central and Obstructive sleep apnea am 71 yrs. old. Ray, Oklahoma
I just started therapy last night with the F30 . Great seal around my beard but can’t get the nose fit right . Constant air coming out into my eyes 🤷♂️
For religious reasons I cannot shave my beard. I do curl it but it protrudes approximately 6 inches from my chin. Which one would work for me? Just nasal mask or pillow didn’t work for me last time I had the machine so I’m a candidate for full mask but I need to keep the beard intact. Please advise. Thanks
Thank you so much. Have you tried the Mirage Quattro full face mask? Seams to work good but head gear gets stretched out. Do I have it to tight? How often should you renew your mask? I have lately been waking up with very dry mouth and feeling tired all day. Thanks for your time and advice.
I been using that for 10yrs. I buy universal straps off Amazon pretty cheap. 2/15ish.? I tried a lot of masks before the mirage Quattro and hated them. Lately I've been wanting to try something else cause I have to wear a I homemade thick neck strap cushion.
I just watched one of your youtube videos. I am brand new to CPAP. I actually have a device but have been having extreme difficulty. I've tried working directly with the company that supplied by equipment but they are terribly slow or completely non responsive. I do have a closely trimmed beard. I'm a side sleeper and breathe through both my nose and mouth. My difficulty has been in getting a good fit. The review of your video showed the Fisher and Paykel Vitera as the best fit. Several questrions: Can you point me to the correct unit to order? Does it matter which machine I have or are these universal fit to the actual device? Which size? The one I currently have is medium. Other than routine cleaning, do these need to be replaced periodically and if so, at what frequency? Do you need any type of prescription from my doctor to place an order and if so, do you handle that directly?
Hello Jim, with a beard we are finding that the Simplus has been working better for our customers than the voters. We could sell you a kit to put together without prescription. Entire masks and fit packs need prescriptions. If you have one that’s great. What mask are you wearing now? Cleaning the equipment once a week with cushion of the mask daily is recommended. Many new CPAP people go through the same exact process your going through. Just realize it’s normal and you will find the right recipe for success. Just don’t give up. If you want to order the simplus you can call 4137337843 and ask for Alina or Monica.
@@USAMedicalSupply I currently have a Resmed Airfit F20 but not using it. I left a message with my doctor to get a digital prescription on Monday. I will call back then to order either the Vitera or the Simplus.
curious re: using a dental appliance -plus- cpap. have the AirFit 20 now; curious if F&P Simpless would be a step up or step down. I like the fuller coverage, started w/ F&P 430/420? , but would like a seal lower to encourage open-mouth with appliance (especially if nose gets stuffy overnight; the AIrFit 20 doesn't do as well w/ the combination. -experience / thoughts on that?
I have a light beard. I bought an F&P Vitera. It fits and seals very well, but it doesn't seem to have any "exhaust" port. When I breathe in, it's fine, but when I breathe out there doesn't seem to be anywhere for the air to go, and the mask moves in and out, up and down with my breathing. The movement and change of sound keeps me awake. There are a number of small holes above the nose area, but no air ever seems to come out of them. It was quite expensive and I'm disappointed it's not working. Did I leave out a necessary step in setting it up? Is air supposed to come out of the small holes?
Thanks for this comparison! No wonder I'm having high apneas with my ResMed F20 with memory foam. I have to make it so tight to fit with my beard! So with a S9 ResMed, which mask would you recommend? The ResMed F30 or the Vitera? Will the Vitera fit the S9 ResMed machine?
Personally i like the evora much better then the F30 and i have the f20 it held like a rock for me and the vitera leaks a lot but much more comfortable over the f30 .they all have there pros and cons there is no perfect mask and i have tryed a lot of full face masks .
The F30 has been more popular and I prefer it over the Amara View. I expect the dreamwear 2 to be out at some point soon and look forward to seeing that. Good luck.
I appreciate the video. I have a serious long full beard, fair skin, and am a mouth breathing, side sleeper. I have tried all the masks in your video plus some others. I've tried the chin strap, the cotton shields and some other make shift things as well as modifying the straps. I've even considered trying duct tape. The AirTouch F20 is the most tolerable (at least my skin doesn't feel like its on fire) but it blows air in my eye's all night. I would appreciate any Ideas you or any of your viewers may have.
@@USAMedicalSupply I tried the F&P Forma and Simplus. Is the Vitera much different? The F30 feels like fire on my face. I tried it on again after watching your vid. After having it on only a couple of minutes my skin burned for over an hour. I'll try the f30 strap on the Airtouch f20 tonight. Thanks for your help. I'm open to any and all suggestions. I'll keep you posted, especially if I find something that works.
The numbers are meaningless. Wearing it for one minute is not the same as having on your face all night. Your wiskers will start feeling like glass splinters.
True, but there aren’t too many masks anyone can get a great seal on with 20cm/H20 for any length of time. Most people are far below that pressure. No mask is perfect and the machine can compensate for leaks of up to 20LPM. With that being said if a mask can hold a seal at the highest pressure for a demo, I’m willing to bet it will be a successful mask.

Amen bro. F20 user and it does me the same way I'll wake up with bottom lip under mask and eye so dry about can't blink
F20 fits perfect, just have to make sure you take the time to adjust it and get used to it. Zero leaks, massive beard
Phillips Fitlife full face mask ... 10/10 would recommend! ... I have a very large beard with no leaks

F20 with the memory foam works great with beards

laying down on your side would be a better test as i find they will leak when on my side rather than being upright fantastic video though thank you
Thank you!
super helpful video for a long beardy dude with OSA thanks so much!
Out of the 3 that passed the seal how do they do for a side sleeper ?
Mirage quattro for 15 years, no leaks with beard
Nice! 👍
Thanks, I got terrible anxiety watching you put on a mask with no ramp on 20.
LOL!
I have the simplest and I still struggle with it I don't get much help or advice from the place I purchased it thanks for the video
I've found the Evora Full (under nose) mask works better for my thinly shaved mustache/goatee and face shape. Nice to have choices.
For religious reasons I cannot shave my beard. I do curl it but it protrudes approximately 6 inches from my chin. Which one would work for me?

It sounded like those mass that you said had a good fit. I could hear very loud leaking. I can’t have that as it would keep my wife awake all night.

Hi mr, i have the very same issue as you! Can't seem to find any info to help out.
That’s what I use F30
If I wear a medium in the F20 would I be a medium in the Vitera as well? Thanks
Most likely yes but different types and styles may fit differently even with the same size. For me personally, I’m medium in both.
i do not like the magnetic headgear like the clip in

Nope... But you can get a chin strap that goes on first...
I'm looking at the Phillips Amara View. Have you tried that and how does it compare to the ResMed F30?

thanks heaps for this.. there is no way in hell i am shaving my beard.. thanks for the info
I love (hate) these videos. Producing them thinking everyone is the same.
Am I the only one trying to get rid of the massive white bar covering the entire bottom of the video for the entire 12min???
Sorry won’t happen again! 🤷♂️
Yes. Hahaha.
I thought the F20 came with a memory foam seal.
This is what annoys me the most.
So many claims,so much BS.
The F20 Airtouch comes with memory foam. The standard F20 comes with silicone
