From my 1st glimpse of the Hedgehog, I have wanted it. Although, I’d grab a compression lock Microburst instead, if it was available. 😉 Please keep us posted on any Tempest compression lock developments.

I have chosen "Gotta Go Fast" the Sonic the Hedgehog as the backing track for this review.
I was philosophizing with a friend about the semantics of the word "detent." I know that when we are talking liner/frame locks, we are talking about a "detent ball," i.e. a ball bearing whose purpose is to act as a detent mechanism. But, semantically, I was thinking, "Isn't the meaning of 'detent' just 'thing that holds something else back?' So, doesn't every knife, even a grav knife, have a 'detent' in the sense it has something holding it from opening?" I know we knife guys know what we mean re: detent referring to a "snappiness" in the deployment but even an axis/plunge lock has a "detent" force i.e. something holding it from opening, even if that "thing" holding it back is just friction on the blade/lock geometry. This is the kind of thing I should probably send to Rollshambo - he likes getting into semantic arguments...
Oh my goodness gracious. I can see where you're coming from, but I mean at the end of the day you take a term and you apply it to the thing that you're talking about. And in this case, we're talking about A tool that has a specific use and for proper deployment it has to have the right tension of detent. So a detent should hold it back properly to deploy the knife properly. Just my point of view. Thanks
