This knife can easily quick deploy if you position it right in the back of the pocket just like the fox karambit. But instead of pulling up and forward like the fox karambit. You will be pulling up and back because the the provoke deployment with the thumb is on the back of the blade. So when you pulling it out the pocket towards the back corner where the deployment is, it will open every time. I wouldn't recommend doing this in tight fitting jeans which why crkt said don't try to quick deploy from the pocket because of how it open and slides out.
It was designed by a "first responder" for first responders! In a grappling situation they can't have the ring showing for the perp to get a hold of it. What I like about it is that you can't see it..... That's what the cops and fire depts that buy it think too!

The ring is very easy to access fast if you approach it from the left side, not an issue at all.

Easy to open with the left hand ?
Easy to open left or right handed. It just doesn’t clip to the left hand side unless you carried it backwards.
