I love Rocks! Aerosmith was my favorite band, way back in the late 70`s (56 yrs. old now) while everyone but me and my future drummer, Chris , were all about Zeppelin. I LOVE Zep, but Aerosmith got me revved up higher. I saw them 8 times in concert and every show kicked ass. I actually like TitA better than Rocks, but is fluid, being in different moods I play what I am feeling.
…as a 10 year old kid in 1977, I could just tell/feel the richness of this record as compared to Toys. Maybe because of the BC Rich guitars they brought in at that time. My older brother dragged into the house all the Rock sounds of the day back and when he out with friends to get baked, I’d take the turntable over! With those huge seventies headphones I’d just sit there and listen and listen to: KISS Alive, Night At The Opera, News Of The World, Steve Millers Greatest Hits, Rumors, Frampton Comes Alive, LZII and the first four Aerosmith records. Little did I know at this time that I had “an ear” to dissect music but…I could instinctively tell that Rocks had the edge over Toys. Every song was an outta the park grand slam. Then, the next record that arrived was the one which was rumored to be a not too desirable work. I could see what they meant as some tunes on DTL were like…..HUH? Nonetheless, I loved it all. No Surprise is the next one I’d hear a couple years later and it’s the loudest Stratocaster I’ve ever heard in my life, the backing rhythm track. Do you know if that is Jimmy or Joe on the studio version? I still don’t know to this day. My money is on Joe but I could be wrong. Excellent video! Thank you for it. Hey, you forgot the descending riff during the Riding Highs on Saddle!
Love this! First, toys in the attic, and now rocks! Can't wait for get your wings and other great Aerosmith albums! You do a fantastic job with your guitar lessons! Keep up the great work!!!!!
Thank u, Thank u, Thank u! I was thinking about you today and was wondering if you would really do Rocks. And you did! I so appreciate you doing this tutorial.
Cool man. You can play back in the saddle the way he does on the baritone by switching octaves. After that pull offs from 3 to open. Play 0 1 2 3 on the low e because the phrase ends on a g note and he is doing a chromatic run to get to that g. It actually goes a b flat b g. E f and f# can be substituted as they are perfect 4ths and still sound good. Or play it the way he does it just sounds higher on regular guitar
Nobody's Fault, Aerosmith or Nobody's Fault ,Led Zeppelin, which do you prefer? Tough choice, they are both excellent songs. Thanks for posting, you make it so easy to learn some of my favorite songs.
Thanks! Oh man!!! This is great!!! One of my all time favorite albums and Aerosmith’s best. Love your guitar. I recently added a PRS Paul’s guitar to my collection and love it!
Great tutorial. One thing that would really help is to describe a little bit of the theory behind the song. For example, this song is in E major, this riff is based on the A minor pentatonic scale, this riff uses the movable D barre chord shape, etc. Just basic stuff, but more than just strings and fret numbers. Would really aid in picking up the songs faster.
Hello Sir, awesome tutorials. I just discovered your channel and have subscribed. I noticed you left out “Home Tonight” and “You See Me Crying” from Toys In The Attic album. Any chance of doing tutorials for both of these songs? Gracias Amigo - keep Rockin!!!
@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar - Cool Bro, yeah they’re ballads so the guitar parts can be a bit sparse and spacey but still a bit challenging. But both songs have very cool, emotional brooding solos. I’m looking forward to your tutorials for those two excellent Aerosmith songs, ✌🏽🙏🏽✊🏽

Ah….my favourite album! Great work
Combination is a geat underrated song! Thank you for tutorial!
Thanks for the great content! You’re one of the few guitar players on UA-cam who I’d like to sit down and have a beer with and chat music.

Very cool video !! A lot of fun playing all those riffs ! 😌🙏💜
This album tutorial was great. Thanks so much. I, too, prefer Rocks over Toys, though both are wonderfully fun to play.

Thanks mate! Yes, tip jar below 👇 haha. No pressure.
Hate to get greedy but how bout the debut Aerosmith album tutorial? Might be the most guitar thick album of them all!!!
Right on Right on...Another great hard Rockin' video...Thank u Kelly...
Love it.
Great video! You couldn't have picked a better band for these last two album breakdowns. Thanks. Just subscribed.
Thank u, Thank u, Thank u! I was thinking about you today and was wondering if you would really do Rocks. And you did! I so appreciate you doing this tutorial.
Love your lessons Kelly, thanks so much for sharing. Any advice for improving my rhythm and soloing techniques ?
Great video. Really, thanks for taking the time to make this.
My pleasure mate!
Masterclass. Well done sir. 👍🎸
Awesome, KDA! 🎸🙏
I REALLY like this format!!
Thanks mate, as do I. The videos do really well for me, but they're a lot of work to make.
Thanks! Oh man!!! This is great!!! One of my all time favorite albums and Aerosmith’s best. Love your guitar. I recently added a PRS Paul’s guitar to my collection and love it!
Your awesome Cathy! Thanks for that.
Great thanks Kelly keep them coming
Bro this is just what I needed today!😊
Great tutorial. One thing that would really help is to describe a little bit of the theory behind the song. For example, this song is in E major, this riff is based on the A minor pentatonic scale, this riff uses the movable D barre chord shape, etc. Just basic stuff, but more than just strings and fret numbers. Would really aid in picking up the songs faster.
Fantastic, can't wait to check out all your content!!!!
Thanks man! Get comfortable cause there's a lot, haha.
Nice
Wow... this is a dream come true... thanks.
Thanks mate! Yeah neither one of those really had a "riff" to speak of, so I didn't do them. I'll put them on the to-do list.
Wow TY KDA!🤘🏻
Thank you for this!! Amazing
You're so welcome!
On Nobody’s Fault
Awesome Dean Totally awesome!
