Please pray for Tommy Emmanuel........Due to all the unnecessary head bopping he is in extreme pain from all the attention seeking whilst playing guitar! Get well Tommy...we love you!
Emmanuel is a great player but an insufferable egomaniac who does not play well with others. He could have played this tune straight and repetitively so Brad could have picked it up quickly but he couldn't bear to. He had to show off. He murders every tube he plays with ornamentation that buries the tune. He has no restraint. No taste.
This is back 17 years ago, when Tommy was first making his mark at the CAAS' s shows. The year before he was with his brother Phil. Tommy likes the limelight from years of stage-work. He's definitely not stage shy. He has mellowed with age and experience into a great stage and show entertainer, more than just another guitar player.I think we are all the richer for Tommy's ego and dedication to his craft.
i think that, on the contrary, he showed his respect for buster. he obviously knew buster's technical prowess and what level it's at, and was merely trying to communicate with him on HIS level. maybe emmanuel was even a bit intimidated sharing the stage with him. hell, i know i would! there's no doubt that they both respected one another, and maybe looked up to one another
These are probably two of the greatest guitar players ever. A few years early it was Chet and Jerry.
i still think richard smith is the perfect fit for tommy emmanuel, but still it's insane that he can copy the twitchy song in just a glance lol
Buster learned this song in 10 minutes. I will take me 6 months. What a talented guy.
Will take me 16 months 😂

I can't believe tommy had to show such an aficionado of jerry reed the song " twitchy ''.
I think "Ol' Brother Hubbard" probably also had traces of inspiration from other Jerry Reed Tunes like "Jiffy Jam" and "Blue Finger".
I hear some parts in there that are in T.E.'s Dixie McGuire tune also...!
Amazing.
0:30 “Are you assuming I know this tune?” Well I sure did. 😂
There are not only the notes from the "Ol' Brother Hubbard" , but also couple of chords from Tommy's and Chet's "To B or not to B".
:D:D it can't be that they have a talk so easily while playing this tune. anyone find the cd player in the background?
Ain't that the truth, to be able to converse while playing, especially one that difficult.
What is the brown thing that both of them have on the tops of their guitars?
Sabine Tuner
It sounds alot like the Beatles "When I'm 64"
yep
Being the leader is easy.....following is tuff.
Lol what game u playing bro

You gotta be kidding. Tommy is pure humility, never brags and always gives the credit to others... shame on you !

Robert Lee you should see the way he treats women. Even professionally, where are the women players he helps, jams with or mentors? Answer: nowhere.
Fuck u Robert, he did that cuz he knew Buster is a pro, treating buster like a noob is an insult
Done well since he busted Shawshank
