Played a scenario similar to that in Europe In Flames, I couldn,t get a far enough visible sighted hex without giving advantage to the Soviet Tanks Guns at closer range, I never do that """ALWAYS""" found a way, so what I did """HIDE""" my few Panthers and MarkIV behind the buildings in the town, Soviets couldn,t see almost none of my Units except a few Machine Gun Platoons I had posted edge of town so I could target their Infantry,Trucks and give pin point targeting to my Artillery.So had all my Tanks ,Engineers,Panzer Grenadiers, jumbled all together in a few area, Soviet Tanks rushed far ahead of the Infantry, alone,A.I trying to find the rest of my Units ,couldn,t see me until they came around the corners and """KABLAMOO""", knocking out 3-4 Soviet T-34/85s and SU-100s one attack at a time as they came around the corner of the building ,firing my Tanks,Engineers,Panzer Grenadiers all at the same time,wiped out all the Soviet Tanks in a few turns, so much pile of junk Soviet tanks had to move my units,Soviet Tanks couldn,t move into the hex of piled up destroyed tanks, than went out chopped up their Infantry ( used my Anti Aircraft Halftracks and Panzers on them, extremely devastating )destroyed their Battalion HQs and took out their 122 Artillery.Did not lose a single tank except 3 MarkIV becoming Immobile,track damage thats all, total Soviet Tanks destroyed was somewhere between 70 and 80 Tanks
It's a bit of a shame that the AI makes unrealistic mistakes, especially with the German troops. Almost as intended, the Russians are portrayed as the more dominant side. In a realistic scenario, the Soviets would lose many more troops and the German tank formations would not concentrate on individual infantrymen, leaving their sides exposed to enemy tanks.
