I saw them live in Oxford a day before this Live Lounge cover, and they were absolutely amazing. The encore at the end was just incredible. An amazing band.
I saw them in 2018 and they were still amazing. Honestly I think their only bad gig recently was 2019 Glastonbury, but a lot of the small stages had sound mixing that was off and the 35°c heat without stage lighting had probably really hit them
I hate when I go on a UA-cam video and see pretentious people acting like they know what "good music" is. This cover sounds exactly like the original. The only difference is that their is a male singer and it's slightly stripped. What's wrong with letting people like what they like and stop trashing other people's work. He's singing the same goddamn lyrics and a different rhythm, tempo, or set of instruments isn't going to make them more or less meaningful. Stop acting like the song disrespects people when Carly Rae Jepson sings it. Closed minded sheep you are. Lack of humility gets you nowhere. I mean I don't like heavy metal or screamo but I don't go around trashing those type of artists. I listen to a wide range of music, including pop because believe it or not, there are still some pop songs out their that people can relate to and are just really fun and catchy.

The Wombats are my faves, they're so talented, I just don't think this song is for them. I get that the live lounge is supposed to push artists out of their comfort zones and to try a different sound, but I can't say this is good for them imo
This cover was not the best. I don't really listen to the wombats, but I can tell this doesn't really fit their music style. You can tell how the lead singer sounds awkward and his voiced sounds kind of strained. All I'm saying is they could've picked a different song and it would be 10x better.
