Since I was a young child, I’d always fantasized about being in love in such a pure way. Now, at 41, I’ve realized that (for a variety of reasons) it truly is only a dream and it won’t happen as I imagined, or at all. Still, the beauty of that dream exists in music like this, and I can still enjoy that hope even if it’s just through a song.

Everything about this song is beautiful, the depiction of love as something that isn't always roses and smiles, the way it is delivered like it is a rant that you speak when you're tired, the rhythm, everything else I cannot describe. Secondly, just because perhaps you're a depressed teenager doesn't mean you speak on behalf of every depressed teenager nowadays. This one might not be as bad, but the pretension and cringe is most definitely there. Also I never suggested the majority of people here were actually depressed, I mean I was technically hinting at the opposite... People who feel unique for listening to music like this and feel unique because they feel down. When you're not unique or special at all.

If I die this year, I hope that I’m able to at least experience true happiness with someone for the first time in my life, even if it’s something short. I do not know what it’s like to feel the embrace of somebody, I want to know what it is like to receive the same love in return. I’m scared of dying without knowing what love is like. It’s so easy for me to describe what it’s like to be heartbroken, rejected, betrayed, but for some reason when it comes to love, I know nothing. This track makes me think about everything and I wonder where I went wrong.
i listen to this song and think about this girl that is constantly on my mind. she’s literally the most beautiful girl i’ve ever seen, yet she thinks so lowly of herself. everytime i see her deep beautiful green eyes, messy dreamy hair , and that smile, i genuinely feel like myself. for the first time in my life, i don’t have to be afraid of who i am to someone , because with her, she makes me feel like i’m on top of the world. i just wish maybe she felt the same.
