- Now that you have setup your Wyze Cam V3 and have it placed where you would like what's next? Well that would be setting up triggers and routines, recordings and more. This is where the Wyze app comes in. This video is a walkthrough of the app for the Wyze Cam V3. Keep in mind this is only a small part of the over all Wyze app so there is a lot more it can do.

The Wyze app on my iPhone 11 doesn’t operate that great. Notifications are impossible to do anything with and when you hit it it goes to the live stream instead of the clip and it takes forever.
Very in-depth review thank you for this. The one feature I'm looking for is if this can be armed and disarmed like a security system for indoor cameras on motion activation only with notifications when were gone. ??
In a way it could be but it would require sitting up a bunch of rules in order to do it. It doesn't really have out of the box features like that. Unless you pay for the home monitoring service.
Ok decided to purchase Cam+, to "capture events" do you check the box or uncheck in the filter area or across the top highlite the Person, vehicle etc in green or leave it blank, seemed to stop working, thanks!
Under settings notifications you would select Wyze AI Detection. This will use the extras you get from Cam+.
i bought 2 wyze cam v3 recently but both cams siren didn't sound when i pressed the siren button? any idea? is it due to the latest firmware (4.36.0.252)? thx
I went and looked at my v3 firmware and tested the siren (4.36.2.5). My v3 went off with no issues. Are you running IOS or Android for the app?
@@Wanderer001_Reviews_Clips I don't know why but don't think so lucky got both cams with the same fault. I tested the talking feature and was working fine ...nvm may b I try to refresh the firmware again .
Might have missed this in the video but do you need the subscription to use the app or view playback with an SD card installed? Without paying for subscription are you limited to taking the SD card out to view externally? Thank you
No there is no fee or subscription needed to view playback from an SD card in the app.

Wow, first of all thanks for the quick reply, i do have that selected and everything else turned off but for some reason the only notifications i get now are for vehicle, originally it was triggering on everything, maybe i need to increase the sensitivity, it's on 40 and like you mentioned in the video it seemed trigger on everything, thanks again
It sounds like it. Every placement will have its own sensitivity setting that works best for it. If you are getting a lot of car triggers you could always try deselecting those hot spots where cars show up more then people. I had to do that with the Wyze video doorbell I am finishing reviewing.
I try playing with some of those settings, i'll keep you posted ;-)
Got mine setup a few days ago. It constantly goes off from palm fronds blowing in the wind, reflections of headlights, etc... I'm trying to find an better way to set it up so I don't get too many useless events.
It is a matter of playing with the sensitivity to cut down false triggers. I know it took me some time before I got it dialed in for my location.

Do us a favor explain what your process was with the sensitivity detection. You spent two minutes talking about a box that’s extremely easy to figure out but as you mentioned in your comment it took you time to figure out the sensitivity if you make a video on that I guarantee it will double all of your views that you’ve currently had.

Do you have any suggestions since time sync is not working at all, its a day/time in advance and nothing is saved on sd card which is formatted already?

Nice video!. I realized Wyze Cam v3 doesn't have the option to schedule the motion/sound event recording option to be turned on/off at specific times of the day, that option was on the Event Recording tab on my wyze v2.... I am having a headache because of that now... Did you find a way to set that option? maybe with rules???? I cant believe I cant make it. Its a basic function. Thanks!
Seriously I have the same issue!!! wth! how do I not have advanced setting, event recording options or any of that??
Yes, this can be done through creating rules for set times. There is even an option now for turning on and off motion detection.
Anyone know what the recording playback quality is for the wyze v3, I know the live viewing is 1080p but what is the recording playback 1080? 720? lower ?
Recordings are 1080, 15fps.

Where do you have it placed? Is it close to anything that might be causing it to get feedback? Is the firmware up to date?
Does it have software support on Windows 11?

So the notification is only sent after recording the event/motion?
Does it notify you as the motion is happening?
It does try to send the notification as it is happening but generally I find that by the time it gets to my phone the even is over. As long as you have an sd card in it you can look back and see everything that happened.
Mine doesn't send any notifications for a reason
@@gergoszederjesi4351 Under the settings do you have notifications toggled on, then either motion events and or sound? If not nothing will get pushed to the phone.

Yes, this can be done by creating a group of cameras. When you do this it will open a live feed for each camera on one screen for you to view.

Don't need a camera to share, but the other person does need to have a Wyze account.
Like how you take the time to answer people! My question from your knowledge is. What is the BEST window cam you recommend? I thought about getting two. One for both ends of my window for a wider angle! I only need to watch the tow trailer right in front of it at night preferably color! Max distance of 10 feet. Thanks for the vlog!!
Out of everything I have tested so far the Wyze v3 would be my pick. It has their starlight sensor which will give you color images over night as long as there is some ambit light. Another thing that al lot of people don't consider is being able to turn off the IR lights so they don't reflect when you have these cameras facing out a window. Wyze V3 has the ability to turn off the IR lights. Wyze also has an assessor you can get for the V3 to press it up against the window to make it even better for that.

@@rightpassage Got ya. Wyze is more of the cheap DYI setup. On site storage with a monitor is definitely more high end compared to this camera.

Some bad reviews on the app side, and suction? I have a haul trailer facing horizontal right in front of my window single pane. Just need to cover 5 ft X 10 ft. wide. I just bought this but I’m having issues, one I click record and I just exit out the app(not close) it stops recording. Is there a way around this? As I want to record outside when I’m not home but don’t have a SD card and I also paid for the cam plus however right now I’m in trial
Sadly there is no way around this. The record option you see in the app is just for what is happening on the screen at the time you hit the record button. If you leave the app then the recording will stop. If you have an SD card this will let you record to local storage 24/7 and you can go back and review it later. Cam plus will only save motion clips to the cloud, it does not save continues recordings.

How do I stop recording onto my iPhone but just to the SD card?
It will only record to your iPhone if you select record when viewing a clip or from the SD card feed.

Actually when viewing the camera in "Live" mode and I push photo or record, a pop up comes on my phone, "Turn on access to your Photos to let Wyze save videos and photos to your Album".
When I decline, it doesn't record or take a photo.
I don't want it to save on my phone but rather onto the SD card. The "library" on the app is empty.
@@Reboot12345678910 When you press the record button in the app then you are telling it to record to the phone. Even if you are looking in the library section of the wyze app those would be recordings that got saved to the phone. If you are looking to have them save to the SD card just make sure to have cuntinuse recording setup and an SD card in the camera. This will let you scrub back through your recording saved to the SD card.

Hello, I need help please. I just got a replacement v3 camera because my other wyze v3 wouldn't reconnect to my wifi after I moved it from my home office to my living room. I tried everything I could. I get a replacement today and I couldn't connect. I split my modem/router to 2.4 and that was supposed to work but it didn't connect. Do you know what else I can do? Btw, I can't change the wifi channel on my router. It worked fine with my 5g router 6 months ago so I don't get it. My password and router haven't changed. Any tips please?
Frist thing I would try is doing a hard reset the the v3. If possible try setting up the camera as close to the wifi as possible, then move after setup is complete.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews_Clips hello, I did do a hard reset, I deleted the app from my phone, I reinstalled it, tried a new email and account, went into my router settings and it’s in the devices in the Xfinity app but, it won’t connect to the Waze app. Xfinity split my router so I have 5GHs and 2.4GHs and I still can’t get it to connect. It times out. Any suggestions?

We're getting these for pet cameras so that we can let our kittens run around and know if they hide under the couch, etc and the IR light Near setting is amazing! We had to return a diff camera as the IR lights made our kittens attack it like it's a laser lol
For the most part all of the indoor cameras I have are all to keep track of my cats and make sure they are not getting into anything when they should not be. It is how I found out one of them figured out how to open a drawer in the kitchen to jump up to where we hid her food.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews_Clips We adopted ours only a few days ago and they've already grown and learned to jump from the stove bottom drawer handle, to a hanging towel, to the 2nd handle and onto the counter aha
Will i still get motion alerts on my phone without subscription?
Yes, you will still get motion alerts and 14day rolling cloud storage of 12sec clips. The subscription gives you access to longer clips for the 14 day rolling storage and the ability to only get notifications if a person is detected instead of all motion.
Can you view the recordings from the ssd on you phone wirelessly?
Yes, select the camera then view playback. This will take you to a time line recording that is stored on the SD card.
Does this camera work with CenturyLink 5G?
The camera needs a wifi connection in order to work. It also only works on the 2.4GHz band of wifi.
My Wyze is picking up every vehicle that passes. I dont want vehicles, only people. How do i stop it
It sounds like you have cam plus. This would be changes under the detection settings under cam plus.

I turned off vehicles pets and packages and only left people but it still picks up every car that comes down the block. What is Worse is that it didn't pick up my shady neighbor standing off to the side about 25' away pacing back-and-forth I only saw him on the live view. I tried creating a zone which it did pick up a neighbor here and there
@@dreamingcode What about adjusting the detection zone and sensitivity for that zone? Also, it could be that while you are telling it not to notify you if there is a vehicle if it is catching motion in that area with the Wyze AI it tells you it is a vehicle even if it was just motion that triggered it.

Im Actually interested in continuous recording so thing so that if an event happens I can go through the video but I don't necessarily need alerts cause I still use ring doorbell.. I'm going to research how to set it up for continuous recording I think I need a micro SD card correct? Thank you for your answers as well I appreciate them
@@dreamingcode Yes you would need a Micro SD card for continuous recording. That is pretty much how I have mine setup. I don't need to know what something is, just if there is movement in a particular area. I then can look back at the recording and see what is/was going on.
This video spends a lot of time talking about the very easy self-explanatory features.
When it comes to the detail features one sentence and he moves on quickly.

That's ok it's not for you then. This is more for people who may want to know ahead of time what the app looks like, or people like myself that might forget from time to time where something is and can use this to refresh their memory.
Read the obvious too much. I didn’t learn much.
But you did learn something... Some people might be looking for a walk through of the app before making a purchase for the first time. Which is why I go over the obvious things as well.
