+Hao You Phill email them and include a link to this video, i reckon. btw sick stuff bro, this video made me love what you've done to the boosts so much more after seeing the initial instagram photo!
I saw a video of another custom and they used dye so is soaks into the boost which means when it cracks it will be black underneath so another cost doesn't need to be applied each time
you should use angelus leather dye BEFORE painting the black. that way when it cracks it will be black underneath! if this was already said i apologize my youtube isnt loading comments right now lol
when you laced them did you feed the black roshe laces through the bottom under the insole? or above where you could see them when you look inside the shoe?
Hey man- would you do a quick custom and sell it? Obviously I would make it worth your while. You did a white pair of 3.0 but if you did the same thing in black I would easily buy three pair. Love your work!
really cool idea for the laces! some people have dyed their boost soles with the amgelus leather dye and then painted over it with the leather paint so you can't see it when it cracks. otherwise i wanna try this out, just gotta get my hands on a pair of ultra boosts lol
+Bibi Liptai Thanks for the comment! There is another way so you don't see the cracks is actually dying the boost - I've done that to another customers pair and works out great!
+pew2007 Im actually dying another pair right now ( Volt Yellow ) - I purchased some fabric dye from Spotlight and dipped the whole shoe in. What I've noticed is that it dyes the foam as well which is good. Doesn't dye it a full black color but if you were to paint over it and then it would crack. It would not be THAT noticeable. I've tried leather dye - but just not on the foam boost bit. So not quite sure how it would go! Shoe laces were from SoleMates !
+timomos Thanks man - appreciate the input! I have tried it on another pair - works much better. Dipping the whole shoe in dye as well is much better so the shoe cracks aren't as visible as well!
Think there's any way on how to paint JUST the upper and toebox of the shoe black but without removing the cage? I got those new gradient gray ultra boost and want to paint the upper all black :(
holy shit, at first i thought the lacing system was complete shit but after i saw the finished product i realized how genius it was. props to you dude.
+Hao You Phill how exactly did you lace the Roshe laces through? I really wanna do this with my ultra boosts but did you just use one lace for each shoe or is it one lace for each side of each shoe?
+nickrm9 I used a pair of laces for each shoe. So in total for ONE shoe it is ... 1 Pair for the cage and a singular one for the lace. I hope that makes some sort of sense? I slit holes in the same way you would lace it and threaded it through. Just like a looping motion.
Should have used mink oil over the paint to keep it from cracking. Also, Angelus have a black leather dye that you should have done a few coats of under the black paint, would stop white from showing as well.
Alright, thank you! Cuz I'm really thinking of buying a pair and make a custom like yours, just without the lacing ( I really do like the way you laced it up, so dope!) I just like the fact that it would be a nice slip on, if you get me ;)
I think the reason the paint is coming off is because you need to prep the material first. Try getting angelus leather preparer and deglazer and some cotton pads to prep the sole. Also another good tip is to dye the sole so if the paint chips it won't be as noticeable. Check out SneakerHeadInTheBay for his tutorial on how to customize an ultra boost.
DUDE that is sickkkkkk i love it. i don't think my very first shoe customization should be on something as expensive as an ultra boost though. i'm really digging the look on yours though.
nice twist on what everyone was already doing. the rope "cages" dont actually look too bad. looks a lot better with the thinner rope you used for sure.
+Diviinity Xx Yeah sorry it wasn't really clear - but I linked it all the way through to the end and tied a knot inside so it doesn't get lose. I can't really explain it - but they go in and out of each hole and then at the end hole - it is tied.
did you really just painted your ub with acrylic paint only? you should at first use acetone to wipe the shoe, use angelus jet black leather dye 2 coats, then mix the acrylic paint with GAC 900 and apply 2-4 coats, use acrylic finisher....
These look sick! The lacing looks like the air Presto
Thanks!
I have a feeling that your customization videos will get featured on complex. Hopefully you start a customs series!
+Mohit Khetarpal Thank you! I hope so - maybe there is a way I can submit it to them for a feature!
+Hao You Phill email them and include a link to this video, i reckon. btw sick stuff bro, this video made me love what you've done to the boosts so much more after seeing the initial instagram photo!
Just been spaming their Twitter and Facebook! Help a brother out haha!
I saw a video of another custom and they used dye so is soaks into the boost which means when it cracks it will be black underneath so another cost doesn't need to be applied each time
+Lewis Dyson That's right! I have actually used this method on another pair I'm currently doing.
love the unique style of the laces, definitely gonna try it out
+Dylan Neman Thank you, give it a go! If you need hand - just ask!
you should use angelus leather dye BEFORE painting the black. that way when it cracks it will be black underneath!

Boost and the lacing are dope.
This is actually super dope. By far the best looking ultra boost customs!
+Anthony Bonilla Thank you!
Lacing idea is super dope! Reminds me of Nike Flywire and Nike Presto.
+Bradley Chang Thank you - I appreciate it!
dope custom is the sprayed upper still holding up well?
+Bennie Liu Still holding up well! Thank you.
Dude. Rope lacing came out so rad.
Thanks man, appreciate it

Would you recommend Leather Dye to avoid the cracking? also where did you pick up those laces in Sydney?
+pew2007 Im actually dying another pair right now ( Volt Yellow ) - I purchased some fabric dye from Spotlight and dipped the whole shoe in. Shoe laces were from SoleMates !
Sweet, thanks for that. loving the lace layout btw. Turns out that's the store I always pop by just didn't realise the name! haha
+pew2007 Haha that's all good! I always go there when I'm in Sydney. They are awesome dudes.
Probably my favorite boost customs so far. Great work.
I wanna do this w the zx flux slip on's I have never worn
How did u manage to keep the laces at the end on each sides? Did u glue them or what?
Stitched it.
have you try using black leather dye for the sole? it might hold up better.
digging the rope laces man. looks classy!
+timomos Thanks man - appreciate the input! I have tried it on another pair - works much better. Dipping the whole shoe in dye as well is much better so the shoe cracks aren't as visible as well!
I like what you did in both colors! The black is more dressed up.
Think there's any way on how to paint JUST the upper and toebox of the shoe black but without removing the cage? I got those new gradient gray ultra boost and want to paint the upper all black :(
+domofool100 You could use fabric dye!
just wondering where you picked the laces up from.
holy shit, at first i thought the lacing system was complete shit but after i saw the finished product i realized how genius it was. props to you dude.
+TheEpicSpopy Thank you, I appreciate it!
Wow this is seriously impressive! They look brand new and so unique
I wonder if you ever checked out Adidas EQT Racing 93 series, just giving some idea on the side ropes.
I've seen a lot of customs of this shoe and they we all cool but all alike but this custom by far is the sickest, nice job my friend!!
+Chris Almore Thanks! Appreciate it.
Bro you used the wrong paint you have to get the black dye for the sole so it will never crack again
Lol 😂😂
is that colour by angulus?
+Max Rusp yeh
what if you get the core black ultraboost with the white boost and do the same thing but instead use white rope laces so that they pop out
Sounds like a good idea actually!
Can you do full tutorial on how you cut and laced it?
Hey can you show in detail how you did the lacing
The lace job is sick
Thank you!
I like the all black laces at the end
+Carl Pascual Thank you very much!
Those r lit... Try an up caged air presto
sick man you gave it that flyknit racer type lacing dope!
+Collective Soles Thanks bro!
Such a sick customisation remind me of the nike prestos laces
Most unique lace technique I've ever seen ( props to being original and creative bro )!!!!!
+Jesse Guzman Thanks man! Appreciate it!
you gotta watch alex's video on how to paint the boost
dye paint finisher prevents cracking
I've dye'd it now !
The finished product actually came out pretty sick. I like what you did with the laces. Good job!
+OverGrownSoles Thank you!
Those are sick!!!! Wish they sold them like that.
+Brandon Smith Thank you - appreciate the comment. I wish too!
Dooope! Remind me of prestos
+Triannosaurus Thank you!
+Hao You Phill how exactly did you lace the Roshe laces through? I really wanna do this with my ultra boosts but did you just use one lace for each shoe or is it one lace for each side of each shoe?

was just about to say that
sick, the laces were dope
+Miles Kavanagh Thank you very much!
can you give us a full in depth video og how the lacing system works
+Kamyab Rashidi Thanks for your comment, did you mean how to do it - or how it works? As it's purely for cosmetics.
+Hao You Phill I want to know how you got the lacing system to work
wasent a fan of the first grey laces but the final product looked dope! good work man
+Jarred Rowe Thank you!
Should have used mink oil over the paint to keep it from cracking. Also, Angelus have a black leather dye that you should have done a few coats of under the black paint, would stop white from showing as well.
Bro those look amazing best ultraboost customs I've seen
what brand is the paint you used on the boost, my black boost is cracking on my nmds
wow I really like how u lace the shoes!!! would u do customize service for another pair? lol
+Lee Henry Yeah I'm currently doing a few pairs for people now! Just depends where you are from!
+Hao You Phill awesome!! I am in LA!!
Lee Henry Haha sorry man that's a far away from me! I'm Melbourne, Australia!
+Hao You Phill ahhh reallly? Can't u do shipping overseas?? I really love the way u customize the shoes man
I can if you really REALLY want too! Would have to source the shoe out as well - and they don't do this style anymore here in a GR
How Does the shoe fit without the laces? Is it very loose or does it fit tight?
+Lucas ring danielsen Still fits tight and snug. More like a slip on now.
Alright, thank you! Cuz I'm really thinking of buying a pair and make a custom like yours, just without the lacing ( I really do like the way you laced it up, so dope!) I just like the fact that it would be a nice slip on, if you get me ;)
This is sick, kinda reminds me of the Prestos
+UsualLuca Zanetti Haha alot of people have been saying that! Thanks!

+john banaag Thanks the input ! Been doing it this way for another pair that I'm currently custom-ing. I did check his one out and it's good as well!
they look SUPER amazing !
Thank you!
DUDE that is sickkkkkk i love it. i don't think my very first shoe customization should be on something as expensive as an ultra boost though. i'm really digging the look on yours though.

Nice man! It looks like a mix between a Nike presto and a ultra boost.
nice twist on what everyone was already doing. the rope "cages" dont actually look too bad. looks a lot better with the thinner rope you used for sure.

+SoloDolo96 Thanks man, honestly I thought I was going to mess them all up as well.
How much would you charge for the shoe + custom?
If you are located in Australia I would do it for you!
dang im in the US
How much would you charge for just a lace custom, I'm based in Melbourne?
+Cameron Roberts Hit me up on Facebook and maybe we can discuss it. Hao 'Shook' Phu - Thanks!
You should have put a layer of angelus jet black dye on the midsole before putting the black paint on there so it doesn't come off again
+Donovan Hall I have actually done it now! A lot of people were telling me too!
doesn't it feel weird when you wear them? since the laces are touching your feet.
+jasper lee Nah - I laced them that way so they don't touch the inside of my feet! So they aren't annoying!
Great video man keep up the good work
+Kenny Goml Thank you! Much appreciated it.
This is so dope u should honestly be a designer for adidas
Thank you!
Could you do a pair for me that looks dope man?
+Khalil george If you were located in Australia I could if wanted!
Really cool custom man!
There look 100 % better now.... (i am not a big fan off cutting out the 3 stripes on the ultra boost)
+Young Antondote Thanks!
Fire 😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fuar these look so nice bro!
+Patrick Pham Thank you!
looks like air prestos ;/
i've also uncaged, and u can't feel the laces when u put them the "standard" way, at all. :)
+Julius Nordentoft Yeah a lot of people have been saying that! But I was really going for a different look! But thanks for the input!
I'm still really confused how you made the laces stick in the bottom?
+Diviinity Xx Yeah sorry it wasn't really clear - but I linked it all the way through to the end and tied a knot inside so it doesn't get lose. I can't really explain it - but they go in and out of each hole and then at the end hole - it is tied.
getting a presto vibe off these
I think some white speckling on the boost would be cool as fuck
dope man, "adidas x nike" nice
+Geo Johannes Thanks!
I love how your voice goes from your Asian accent to your Aussie accent
+Gregory Taylor Gets the best of me.
are you able to uncage Air Prestos?
+Jakob Hörauf I honestly haven't tried - but having a look at them. Don't think so.

+Formula Forza Haha thank you! Enjoy our videos!
did you really just painted your ub with acrylic paint only? you should at first use acetone to wipe the shoe, use angelus jet black leather dye 2 coats, then mix the acrylic paint with GAC 900 and apply 2-4 coats, use acrylic finisher....
They look fine bro, let him do him...

the grey laces looked dumb but when u added the roshe run laces... Wooh... That shit was fire... looks like Nike flywire
+Tselmeg Chinuukhei Thanks man! Appreciate the input!
