Man that Baby Peach placement is criminal! I mean... who else are you linking Yoshi with once Birdo, Petey, and Mario get taken? And her star swing's pretty good. Really! Best female pitcher option in the game imo. For Miis, I think Purple is seriously slept on here, and could even see ranking her above Dark Blue. She's basically the only reason Waluigi captain works in standard play. Purple Toad really isn't a big step down from Yoad, and gets you to Piantas who in turn have three fantastic Mii colours to link out with or can just link you into Mario and friends. Plus being Waluigi's only other link option besides Wario is super important. If you're Waluigi captain, I honestly think going Mii -> Purple Toad is straight up better than taking Wario. Great tier list though. Love how the channel's evolved over these past few years. Here's to many more!

Great list but you guys underrate stealing as a mechanic in this game. You can basically get free bases because there is no way for the fielder to throw to anyone in between bases so the runner can get themselves caught in an rundown situation which they can win. I never hear about this talked about on this channel and I am curious about it. It also makes abilities like ball dash really overpowered for a fielder because then a fielder can catch someone stealing a base more easily. This stealing-bases-always strategy used to always be how I would play this game
Very true. It’s hard to fit that in though, because if you’re using horizontal controls (which we do sometimes) you can run with the ball so it’s easy to get someone out in a rundown. But with nunchuk it’s really hard and not very fun so we don’t abuse it.
What’s the best most OP team you can make or do you recommend when it comes to hitting home runs or raw power? And what’s the best team you can make when it comes to fielding?

Definitely the best tier list you guys have made so far, while knowing the metrics the game uses definitely helped, I can tell that a good chunk of this also came just from more experience with the characters! I've been playing this game a lot more lately, so I do believe that I want to highlight some characters that may be better than you guys are giving them credit for, less as a "THIS TIER LIST IS WRONG!!111!" and more that I had success with them myself and maybe they're worth trying more. *Dixie:* I'm happy to see that you guys are giving a much bigger emphasis on slap and non-captain star hits. You did mention this as a plus for Dixie, but I think that you guys might want to explore it more, since they've proven to be pretty consistent, along with Dixie generally being a great character to have baserunning. Other than that, she's a great outfielder and having Pink Mii as a quick in and out of the otherwise rigid Kong chem tree makes her a much more appealing pick. *Blooper:* Blooper's slap is really good. I don't know if this is just me but Blooper has always been a disgustingly consistent singles hitter whenever I pick him. Might be worth looking into that because that could give him a pretty big boost considering how he links to some exceptional characters. *Shy Guy:* Shy Guy's Super Dive range is kinda bonkers. No Petey for sure, but I've seen him catch balls that were nowhere close to his body. Makes me wonder when we'll get the catching hitboxes for everyone. *Peach:* I think putting Peach in middle A is a massive understatement to how much she can affect a draft. Yes, she's far worse if you have a female infielder, but the fact her star hit is near uncatchable if you don't have one means you potentially would have to alter your entire draft if she is put on the other team or risk her basically having a free double every time she is up. She absolutely becomes far worse with someone like Birdo in the infield basically shutting her down, but if you're drafting a Bowser team and they pick Peach, you'll have to go out of you way to draft a female infielder just to counter her or rely on tight execution with Hammer Bro or Kritter's dive. I do believe that with that counterplay she's out of the running for top 5, but with how much she's able to adapt in both drafting and in-game, it's hard to say a character with that kind of presence has to be ranked higher. She's not just a great pitcher, she's an excellent counterpick that you HAVE to address.
Interesting points! I’ve definitely noticed the shy guy hitbox, I like him a lot in the infield. Haven’t slap hit with blooper much but I’ll try it next time! He definitely could’ve been higher, maybe even top of C.
Props to the effort that went into making this video but the ranking is suspect: 1-The whole system seems super arbitrary, there’s no explanation of what being in a tier means which is why you end up with characters who you say have good chemistry and fielding but bad hitting in both S and D tier 2-No way you came into our comments section to attack our Birdo placement and then put her number 2. Your review of her is “her chemistry is unparalleled” (even though you literally say the Miis have just as good of chemistry and put them in the bottom of A), “she’s an incredible fielder” (all the traits you list are shared out outclassed by other characters, and pitching is way more defensively significant), and “she’s not a great hitter” (true!), and that makes her the second best character in the game? If Birdo’s only (not even unique) upside is fielding well and connecting other good characters, then she’s just a good role player for other superstars. Saying she’s S-tier is like putting Pippen in the goat debate. Sidekicks aren’t S tier. I decide to scroll through the comments, and holy moly there is more complexity to this game than I thought. I never played with a nunchuck but maybe I should look into it. I think Koopa should definitely be a bit higher. I play a ton with my brother and we've determines that koopa and red koop's star swings are not only quite good, but they cause a much higher than normal bobble rate. ESPECIALLY if your timing is so that the little star swing animation shows the ball at the very tip of the bat. Additionally, if you're making a Bowser/bowser jr. centric team, Koopa has a decent bit of speed and I've found an outfield of bowser jr, koopa in center, and green dry bones (he's the fastest dry bones) to be quite effective. But even then. by himself, he's decently fast and has a decent hit EDIT as I'm watching: THANK YOU for recognizing the double threat that is King Boo. He's pretty much the only character who is meta in both pitching and hitting
I recently started playing this game with my friend a lot and toadsworth in both of our opinions felt like an S tier in our eyes for pitching only as it's so slow it felt like it made the ball a lot harder to hit compared to fast pitchers. I don't know if this is because we are both not super good at the game but we are playing on the original Wii on a tv screen

I think you guys should test something: I remember playing and attacking yoshi’s star swing pressing b and having that neutralize it fairly easily. Could you test that because I think that could have a fairly large impact on his place in the tier list
We’ve both attacked the egg many times and it never is a good result. It just stay in the egg form and bounces wildly off the next player. However, there was one singular time where attacking it canceled the egg hitbox and I have no clue why. So if we could figure out why it worked that time then it would be pretty big

Bro I am pretty sure light green Mii only has chemistry with Petey piranha which is pretty bad, after checking your Chemistry chart with the Miis I can say that the only miis that are good are red Mii and dark green Mii Reply if I made a mistake

Dark Bones as the best alt for the Bones, as God intended. Solid lost overall, though I'd have Blooper a tad bit higher.

I think you guys should test something: I remember playing and attacking yoshi’s star swing pressing b and having that neutralize it fairly easily. Could you test that because I think that could have a fairly large impact on his place in the tier list
We’ve both attacked the egg many times and it never is a good result. It just stay in the egg form and bounces wildly off the next player. However, there was one singular time where attacking it canceled the egg hitbox and I have no clue why. So if we could figure out why it worked that time then it would be pretty big

Bro I am pretty sure light green Mii only has chemistry with Petey piranha which is pretty bad, after checking your Chemistry chart with the Miis I can say that the only miis that are good are red Mii and dark green Mii
