    Awesome job on tool kit. Mine is almost identical. I carry a small light hand pump also. Tool mat no longer sold but a piece of Tyvek works also, make a pouch on it to hold bolt etc. Also a 4 foot double ended SAE cord to jump bikes. I like to use a SAM splint folded, not rolled, to hold my first aid kit and always have some Voile Straps also. I'm old and my riding buddies are too. The knees are not what they used to be and I can't get anyone but me to wear braces...it's not only your bike that may break. I separated my bicep tendon in the middle of nowhere, alone in Colorado lifting my 800. Thus the 690 now....

    Very complete, If you dont mind me adding a couple of things...One being stainless steel zip ties, they are great and can be used wherever heat might damage a plastic one( exhausts). My other is a tip..... white out yes white out not to be taken with but, in shop after you have tightened fasteners a small line or dot on head of bolt and mating surface. If you see the paint not matching up its probably loosened. Alot faster to visually inspect problem nuts or bolts, critical ones too wheel axles etc....

    • @backcountryadvmoto
      @backcountryadvmoto  4 роки тому +1

      Very good add ons! I use whiteout all the time on fasteners, and used to carry stainless zip ties, but for some reason quit doing that. Maybe I’ll throw some back in. Thanks!

    Yep could of use that charger yesterday, turn the bike off with the kill switch, left the key on , the GPS drained the battery to nothing. Had to get a jump start from a truck (tried push starting the bikes to heavy) it was kinda sketchy where the hot jumper cable connects to the battery, is about a 1/4 of an inch from the grounded crash bar.

    Love the vids. I bought that butane torch and similar rods and the 1300c 503 torch doesn’t have the heat to braze 1/4 aluminum sheet as a test. I bought a cool adapter to use jet boil fuel to refill torch. My larger propane torch can heat up base and then I rub the rod and it works great. The Amazon torch link is way different from the torch in the vid. What torch that is small and could be used in the field? Great idea btw! I’m just testing before I’m in the field and really need it.

    • @TheFoxyt2
      @TheFoxyt2 3 роки тому

      I wonder if my jet boil fuel in the 503 torch has a lesser heat rating than pure butane. I like the idea of being able to refill my torch with jet boil from my cooking set with a tiny adapter, which I tested and won't brazer the aluminum I tested with. My large propane torch (too big for MC IMO) works great though and many people along the trail will have those, so having the alumin weld rods is a "cool hack"!
      I LOVE your vids! I have the same helmet and purchased lots of gear based on your recommendations. keep up the good work!

    • @backcountryadvmoto
      @backcountryadvmoto  2 роки тому

      No I think you’re misunderstanding. The point of just wrapping it around and holding it with your hand is if the guy being towed for any reason doesn’t like what’s going on in front he lets go and the two aren’t connected anymore. It’s not like the towing is being done on tight single track. Generally, at least if you’re being safe about it the towing is being done on a road or area where turning is a minimum. I’ve done this a number of times and I’ve never had an issue but there is always that one guy. That guy could be you I guess 🤷🏼‍♂️
