Dudeeee i been searching for little tips like this like all last year. Thank you because eq wasn't cutting it for me I felt like i was losing to much. And this is perfect because I know its not changing the phase of the sound. This and the saturation tutorial where gems for real.!!!!
I really appreciate these type of tutorials. Great explanation, I learned how to use a few effects, but theres a small problem. I don't hear how the "sound sounds so much tighter". I can hear your lovely voice, but I can't hear the "sound". It might just be my computer, but just to let you know.
Hey Janice, I'm flattered you think my voice is lovely :) As for the sound I highly suggest you listen on good headphones so you can hear what's going in the bottom end of the sound. Because we're dealing with low frequencies you need headphones or speakers that can present those frequencies well and I guarantee you'll be able to hear the difference.
Hey man, it's not an absolute must use beats mode, sometimes it sounds better when it's not warped at all so you would just have to play around with the different settings to find where it sounds best with the track. As for the reverbs it's to make things sound even wider and I have each reverb filtered differently on the left and right. So one is low cut and the other is high cut.

Hi, shouldn't you be using kick in simpler on beats mode? any reason why you have your return tracks panned hard to the L and R ? Thanks
