I was very interested in Shu, but she doesn't have a lot of showcase here in UA-cam except for the funny teleport shenanigans, glad to see her advantage being explained here clearly.
there are bunch of clears on bili where she carries scary IS stages like March of The dead, Lingering Echoes one, is4 bosses or many low op count clears of event stages where her healing, sanctuary, damage buffs(37 atk spd, 25 atk%) and teleport are all useful(Sanctuary saves from one shots, strong healing almost instantly makes allies go full again in 1-3 heals with shortened atk interval bcs her own buffs affect her too). Once she gets her Y module(base 15% dmg reduction which will result in like 22-23% damage reduction for herself and buffs talent enhanced), there'll be even less sense to pick Saria(she gets picked mostly because with y module she is tanky and have healing+utility). Adding for the teleport, as Storn said, she can mark and tp invulnerable enemies, all ch12 civilians, friendly and unfriendly(basically most of "entities" like ch9 fireballs and HDE rolling rocks), counter enemies teleports, CC enemies when other skills are on cd, burst down scary targets(e.g: ch12 damazti hard stages with her + Kalsi + someone else where she teleports civilians and damazti to redeploy Mon3tr with full def (Mon3tr and her skill duration syncs up well)) ... Basically, very versatile and her niches are extremely strong
@@RokiDam At least Saria keeps her raw stats over Shu as well as an arts amp that stacks with arts fragility. With Shu being limited Saria will maintain her spot as most used guardian defender, like Hoshi is still more used than Nian. Though some stages it would be super nice to have both Saria and Shu in different spots.
Shu has better hps, skill cycles, provides sanctuary, superior CC and her buffer role is universal and not limited to arts/casters which makes it more flexible and valuable. Yeah base stats won't protect Saria from this. I think most people will roll Shu for a variety of reasons whether it be waifu, meta or fomo, so mostly beginners will lack her I think. (+F to extremely unlucky people) Beginners won't have Saria anymore since she is stuck in Kernel hell. Nian was always considered an easy skip while Shu is considered one of the best operators in the game, so I think those ratios will look quite different. Can Shu catch up to 4+ years headstart of Saria? I don't dare speculate on that matter.
Really appreciate this format ! Seeing actual in game usage of an operator makes it easier to put into perspective how high their power level truly is. As a relatively new player; videos of Operators' multipliers and max mod, max lvl and max trust stats don't really mean much and seeing something like this is a lot more helpful :D
@@Cruelty1633 Good thing they'll be changing that soon ! I think it's with Pepe banner ? They are adding QoL where you'll be able to select skill and Mod so that's gonna be really nice to test out units : D
W's "50 SP cost" downside is such a joke, yeah. Her off-skill DpS with 3 summons is higher than most AFK skills ffs, and she has AoE, massive range, and stun%! Heck, it barely is affected by tiles since she can put the things ANYWHERE in her range!
Not a fan of how Arknights is handling balance recently. The recent Silverash/Thorns/Qiubai modules show that HG is perfectly capable of making all 6* operators of an archetype strong in their own niches. Why, then, are we receiving units like Walter, who is so good she invalidates all other Snipers? or units like Degen who completely destroys the design consistency established by the previous Irene and Chen and who is better in every way--be it damage, CC, or ease of use? Or Logos, as another example, who eclipses Ebenholz in DPS, Necrosis Damage, ease of use, etc; while also being far and away the best Core Caster. To the extent that I don't even know why Ebenholz still exists, when he can't claim to be the best at anything despite having 3 modules that attempt to give him a niche. Maybe I'm just salty, but it feels like the power envelope has been shoved so far forward these days that the previous appeal of team-building with operators that each fulfill specific roles has been overly simplified. Recent operators condense niches in such a manner that the complexity of a 12-man squad has been replaced by a simple toolkit of "which 3 operators will I solo this stage with?"
I agree with everything here, although I would like to point out one very minor thing, in an attempt to shill my boy Ebenholz. I think he's an immense unit in IS4, better than Logos for sure (not by much though), and my experience with him has placed him in the top 5 operators of this mode for me. IS4 is designed so that in most maps, elites just come out one after another, but not frequently together, and since some of them run so fast, Ebenholz's fast cycle and nukes let him basically own the gamemode. I have had A15 runs where I could find no useful scaling relics nor recruitment tickets, and basically stuck with my Texas and Ebenholz for the majority of the game, but still managed to go far or win, and I'm not remotely close to a good player. He is also the fastest necrosis burster in the game, just very slightly faster than Arturia. He still loses to Logos by a lot in everything else, but I'm trying to say that the situation for him is not nearly as bad as, say, Hellagur, or any Sniper in existence.
reed s2 + surtr s3 + texas s2 is my goto "f*ck you" combo when i'm tired of bosses horseshit. if that wasn't enough i buff reed with warfarin to drop literal nuke on them
@AslihanSoylu i actually think the Virtuosa + Logos S2 duo as well as adding the Suzuran + Qiubai duo to this will make the best arts tag team. Imagine how much you could do with these 7 supporting each other
Theresa is pretty nutty too for what she does tbh. But I can barely think of situations where you'd need what she does. Also Logos is completely busted, not really sure if this other bloke is being sarcastic.
Agree with your list. Although when it comes to fun and experementing with the kit of an op I would rank Ray much higher. Her S1 can push, her S2 has Unlimited duration and her S3 is a stall and boss killer (with a fast cycle if you can kill a trash mob between her boss/elite killing). And as you said, with her summon she can reach Ranges that are pretty outstanding. Her only downside I'd consider is her Hunter gimmick with her ammunition. All in all thanks for this video and I'd like to see more of this type in the future.
Yeah, though I don't agree entirely with the ranking I'd also love to see more videos like this. They are always fun to watch and can bring a different perspective than your own for how to rate operators.
Looking at the list I'm thinking ease of use also has quite a big impact on the ratings. For a lot of the higher units, you don't need to pay too much attention to them as they're pretty 'plug in and play', but Ray you do need to manage ammo and Sandbeast micro to use her optimally, esp with stuff like S2. For me, that ceiling makes her the most satisfying unit to use, finally surpassing Magallan for me, but a lot of ppl just don't care and just want an easy win button. Her strength is clear in stuff like CCB though, that insane ramping up DPH with basically perma bind and Sandbeast dmg Inc is nuts.
Ray's usage is mostly s3's 1 target bind & its not that unique. Mumu s3 on ranged form can also perma bind 1 target & with some good ops to copy, like besieger, has better range too Ray's fast skill cycle & high dphcant be replaced by mumu tho
@@frauflaw100edibleorganicco9 Well Ray is used more for the damage than the bind tbh, it's just that the bind is a great way to keep her target in range. It just so happens that this also means she has some utility and not pure dps. Afaik basically any content in which Ray's bind is crucial, her damage is crucial too.
Really well made and explains the upcoming operators excellently, thank you so much! On the other hand you showcased them so well i feel like i have to get all of them…although realistically ill probably just skip ascalon and ray 😅
I'm glad that there is a showcase with commentary explaining each of the advantages that an operator has , please do more videos like this one but for operators combination , like shu and her siblings combination or deep hunter mega buff when they are together , etc ,etc. this could be turned into a series. Amazing work.🎉
>be me >be shu saving chad >roll for degenbrecher >get her on first roll >roll for ray >get her on second roll here's hoping to get shu on third roll and WAlter on fourth
loving all the braindead big number ops for a smooth brain doctor like myself; although i do feel sad that many older 6* getting dunked on by every new op release, in the end its pve so its not the end of the world to me
I was really disappointment when I found out that Degenbrecher's 3rd skill wasn't offensive recovery. It just feels like they completely missed the point of the archetype, which is that they have very powerful nuke skills but are offensive recovery as a drawback that make them more complicated to use. Even if they had it be offensive recovery she would still be incredible, so I don't know why they would design her like this, just so that she was different from Irene maybe? But that doesn't make sense because it's just better to have auto-recovery (except some cases with snipers). I also like to use Chen for her synergies with offensive and defensive recovery skills, and this just felt like an insult to her kit as well.
That's not really the point of the class, they weren't supposed to be complicated to use, way back when Chen was the only one of that class you could clearly see what she was designed to do, to be a frontline unit similar to AOE guards like Blaze(can tell by DP cost), with strong auto attacks(double hit) that can hold lanes and nuke with skills for when it gets overwhelming, but enemies stats got too high for both their dmg and survivability, so having them in front doesn't work anymore, they tried fixing with Bibeak and Cutter spamming skills and Irene def ignore, but still didn't really work out, so this is what they ended up doing.
@@theFrozenfires I don't really see how that is contrary to anything I said. I said it made them more complicated to use than if they were autorecovery. The reason they had to be frontline is because they had offensive recovery, if they had autorecovery you could still do that but also have them in the back if you so wanted to and they would have a good role in that.
@@johanedfors3899 You don't understand what he wrote. It is exactly because the attack recovery demands them being on the frontline that theFrozenfires said that Degenbrecher has auto-recovery. Because Sword Masters lack the survivability to actually stand on the front line long enough to charge their skills. Nowadays, Elites are in almost every wave, and an elite can be borderline impossible to kill without a skill. Even the elites attack aside, the double-hit Sword Masters just cannot put a dent on their defenses with normal attacks, so they are overwhelmed very easily. Having attack-recovery skill doesn't help them. If they use it, the 'wave' of enemies is cleared. But then they have no enemies to charge the skill on before the next wave, so they will be overrun. In that case, what's the point of them? They end up being only useful if you can find a safe side-tile (like those walled tiles that Myrtle often is put in if they are available). But what's the point of that if you can just drop an operator that can both kill AND block? Being complicated to use is a DEMERIT, unless that complication actually has some reason. Offensive/defensive recovery is just artificial obstacle that for most units/skills literally adds nothing positive to the experience. Not even 'tactical challenge'. It's simply unfun. There are units, like Młynar or Flagbearers where the complication has an actual gameplay impact (choose between blocking or skill for flagbearers, or between charging skill for a bigger nuke or blocking the lesser enemies with Młynar) and can be taken advantage of. You may want Młynar to let pass a dangerous enemy to be blocked by a tank right behind him, while keeping the fodder that follow him and kill both, for example. THIS is a complication that is welcome and can be fun working around.
@@kikixchannel I didn't say that the class wasn't flawed before Degenbrecher though. What I am complaining about is that they replaced the old flawed model with another flawed one, in that it is just blatantly overpowered and lazy. They should at least have tried to keep to the tradition of the class instead of just erasing the little bit of character it had. What they basically did was just copy Irene's skill but make it deal more damage and give it auto-recovery, like why? If you ask me they should have learnt from Bibeak because Bibeak is actually good, but scale that up for a 6* that lore-wise is very powerful. As for the safe ground tile issue, a lot of stages have good tiles, they don't have to be protected, just as long as no really powerful enemy passes through it. They could also have taken an approach like with Chen and make her a buffer. Chen's buffer talent is (imo) criminally underrated. The talent itself fixes the issue of offensive-recovery and defensive-recovery skills by giving a small but effective auto-recovery to all of them. Chen does really well in this CC because of the 90% auto-recovery decrease in reeds (or at least would have if it wasn't for this CC model leaving very little room for customization compared to old CC cuz all of the risks are dependent on each other). The only issue with it is that there aren't really enough good offensive/defensive-recovery skills out there, which, you know, Degenbrecher could have fixed but didn't. What I am basically saying is that they did the worst thing they could have done to fix the subclass when there were just so many other approaches they could have taken. They basically just made her a better Irene that doesn't have the traditional drawback of the class, when both Chen and Bibeak are good operators in varying spirits that they could have taken inspiration from instead.
Seeing how strong Wisadel is, I sometimes think that she's created and designed by some 13-year-old kid who just want to see cool explosions and delete all the enemies, both of her versions are also double limited. At this point. Even Mlynar, Ch'alter and Surtr who used to be super broken seems to be ordinary operators in comparison to her. If you have Wisadel, what's the point of using other units? Unless you want to play niche knights or do something to challenge yourself. Wisadel's creation is probably the most disappointing thing I've ever experienced while playing Arknights. It also doesn't help that 'W' is my least favorite character in the game, personality wise. The release of meta operators like Mlynar, Ch'alter, Texalter and Surtr didn't even bothered me, aside from Degen. But Wisadel is way beyond Degen's brokenness. Degen and Logos are in the same tier in my opinion. Logos just made all the casters irrelevant (but I like his lore so...), still not as broken as Wisadel. The balancing in Arknights had become so bad recently to the point of greatly reducing the player enjoyment. I've been playing Arknights since year 2020. It's probably time for me to drop the game and move on. It was fun.
Real talk they could have just made Logos a Supporter who’s function was Crowd control and being a sub dps. After adjusting his attacks and maybe some do his multipliers appropriately he would be more balanced.
@@2265Hello Why would you do that to Logos if Wisadel is so much worse? One Wisadel is probably better than even two Rosmontis on the field. For some reason 'Walter' can get away from being so broken, while Ch'alter, Texalter and Mlynar can't during their releases. I hate the fact that most players are biased towards 'W' because, most of them have a thing for crazy and psycho women.
@@macsenpai7006Bro all I did was make a dumb ass comment on what I thought would be a fun idea of balancing Logos by reclassifying him since he has so many support abilities. Afterall it feels like HG has been just giving us op ops instead of ones with actually interesting kits. Either way I wasn’t giving Wisadel a pass i just didnt mention her because I am tired to talking about her. Also I don’t give a damn about her and her ye ye ass clothes. But balancing her would be simple just reduce her attack, her multipliers or both. Or at here very least make her summon actually die. Anything fun would require major revamps.
@@2265Hello My bad, I'm just kinda frustrated with the balancing in Arknights these days. I'm considering dropping the game, but I love the lore so I don't know.
@@macsenpai7006 bro my honest thoughts we are lucky that Arknights even had that sort of balance in the first place it’s a gacha game. It was never probably going to end up balanced. But I’m the sort of guy who has started to view Ak as a game with great difficulty customization. Personally W and logos just seem like a symptom of not caring as much about balance and trying to sell ops. I don’t think they will be the standard for ops in the sure considering how Viviana was released as is. But I can’t predict the future. I just play for the story and IS mostly. You can still love the lore and the story but idk try niche knights or something or just play casually. Etc.
Really good video. I don't really disagree with your placements, buf even if I did, I believe you made a good job showing each of those operators good and bad points.
Why though? Her bombs are underwhelming; good effects but don't last nearly as long as they should for their scarcity. The only good thing she has going on is her skill damage, which is higher than Ray by a slight amount but doesn't have nearly the same range or utility. Obviously I'm downplaying her a bit here, since she is absolutely better for newer accounts, but for more established ones, I don't see her offering a whole lot.
@@sharksarecool6717 she offers fragility comparable to suzuran while also not being locked into a single place, while also dealing insane DPS. 7s is long enough for her + any other DPS in your squad to burst down literally every single target. Just look up any Ela showcase instead of judging her only by reading numbers.
#1 is undoubtedly Wisadel. No explanation required. That leaves #2 and #3 for Logos and Shu IMO. Then #4 and #5 are Ela and Degenbrecher. Logos is simply the best arts dps unit and arts support in the game, he is the best afk operator, really good at dealing with tough waves and can also obliterate almost any single target while being nigh immortal to arts damage. It should not be surprising that this man is insanely popular, his damage and utility together are better than Degen easily IMO, especially since Logos does arts and elemental while Degen is a physical dps that has to compete with very many strong competitors. Logos basically has no competition in his field and also greatly buffs his competitors if teamwork is desired. Logos is also the single most worthwhile M9 and literally nothing else comes close. I would argue that Logos is on par with Mlynar, while Degen is still decently below Mlynar when not playing IS. Shu is one of the greatest buffer, cc and healer in one operator. Reducing allied damage taken, giving enmity ops some passive healing, +25 atk% and +25 aspd is really good and is essentially tiny Aak except literally all the operators can benefit from it at the same time if there are seeds, her teleport can cheese many game mechanics and nobody else has higher HPS atm. Not to mention her other talent. I cannot understate this enough, we have a million oonga boonga dps, but we don't have many operators that do turbo healing, let alone add CC and dps buffs to that turbo healing. Ela provides global fragility and slow which is simply insanely much stronger for utility than a bit of binding from Ray or disarm from Degen imo, tho that being said I can also understand why some people prefer bind from Ray since it is actually an absurdly good bind, especially against strong boss targets which Ray realistically wants to deal with. Basically the CC provided by Ela is more replaceable than Ray's bind. But the flexability of Ela+dps boost is simply much greater overall. The fragility is not as potent as Gnosis/Suzuran (or Shu's entirely different buff in most situations), but it is a globally applicable buff whereas these other operators are bound to their spot. Then there is the fact that Ela is hands down one of the best physical ST dps operators that is also super braindead and synergises with her own mines ontop of providing dps boosts to others. Frankly if you have 2 dps operators in your squad then you can already see why Ela gains more value compared to the operators below her in my ranking. (and the best thing is that this means she can provide value for them too, that's the nice thing about being a DPS+Support like Logos and Ela, you never truly compete because you always synergise with competition too which becomes more obvious the more DPS you actually bring.) To really hammer this one down, imagine putting Ela+Degen against Ray+Degen. Ray already struggles to compete with Ela for damage unless enemy defence is insanely high, but now Degen is buffed by Ela whereas Ray wouldn't help Degen at all or vice versa. I can also do the opposite, Ela+Ray is gonna be more significant than Degen+Ray, unless you are more worried about the surrounding trash than the main target (if there even is surrounding trash). Ela's versatility and utility make her almost like an Ines equivalent but for snipers, which is hilarious, because Ela is not even a sniper. Then Degenbrecher, Ray DPH is so much higher that she almost always does significantly more damage than Degen on a single target and I'd argue Ray bind is a better utility, but Degen is multitarget so will often simply do better than Ray as there are almost always several targets. Degen has some utility but the odds are too low unless you use the skill, beyond that the most valued utility is almost always "kill faster" or "they are not allowed to move" and Degen's utility is a 5s "enemy doesn't attack" Her pull force mainly help her keep damage on targets rather than slow them down significantly such as Ray's bind. Not to mention that Degenbrecher is arguably the operator that benefits the most from IS relic spaghetti and equivalents and it truly boosts her to another level of existence in those gamemodes specifically. TLDR: Wisadel > Logos > Shu > Ela > Degen > Ray
@@KhroniclasI think we should wait for more difficult content for shu because for all of them upcoming she hasn't shine anywhere except RA. You wouldn't get immediate big value from getting her because oftentimes what you already has is enough. Her niches aren't as pronounced as others in team clears yet. I'd put her behind degen specifically for now but they're all gigabusted. Walter is Walter, Logos offers SO MUCH in one package, Ela also, Degen is braindead IS and must RA picks, Ray is ccb2 and IS goat.
Hi Storm, I've been seeing your content for a long time, I follow you with my private account. I have a channel dedicated to Laterano only, I would like to improve the definition of the video as in your videos.. Could you please tell me which program you record with and the definition of your screen?
I use OBS to record and set LDplayer to have 3840 width and 2160 height, if you do that you also need to change the the video resolution that you record in OBS to the same ratio and the bitrate I set to 25000 kbps on OBS too
Neat list. My current priority targets are Shu(and by extension her siblings and Zou Lee) and the R6 crew. I will laugh if I get lucky with the free rolls for Logos and Walter.
Logo's S1 needs to be mentioned here as well, it's an execution for enemies who have HP below a certain percentage(e.g.150%) of Logo's attack-- that threshold WILL scale with buffs as his attack increases, and he will deal an extra instance of dmg based on the executed enemy's HP at the point of deletion to another random target within range(if there's any who aren't dead yet) so if there's a boss walking in with a hoard he will get deleted within seconds by Logos
Good video. I already knew I wanted Shu and W even if I didn't know anything about their unit types and skills, and you made them very easy to understand how to use. Totally didn't know Ascalon was also coming, gonna add her to the list. But it drove me crazy when you put "ditch out damage" when it's "dish out damage" lol. Gotta have something to nitpick.
I love how for every shitty new archetype, the way they make a “broken” 6 star of that archetype is by removing almost everything that gave that archetype an identity. Hoederer, crusher: he has massive HP and HP regen built in so he’s essentially just a slower hitting musha Ray, Hunter: you don’t actually have to contend with her weird range and she has a skill that loads all bullets first, then attacks Mountain, brawler: actually, just becomes a 2 block AOE guard with HP regen, and a built in attack debuff lol, it’s just funny how they realized how shit some of these types of units are and just went “uhhh…..just forget they’re like that”
Honestly I wouldn’t cite hoederer as an example of a broken op😂 , if you wanna say ulpianus then sure. Ray is honestly the one that I disagree the most in saying they removed the archetype’s uniqueness as you still have to manage her bullets when she is normal attacking and even when using skill if you don’t have her mag fully loaded you’re gonna lose a lot of total dmg since her skill uptime will be wasted reloading and her range feels actually like a resource you have to manage with the sandbeast’s redeploy time and requires skill to make full use of
Thanks for the detailed showcases. I'm not much of a meta player, I usually just like to have enough good units to clear CC and ex boss stages easily enough. Overall I want Shu, Logos, and Degen the most. Wis and Zuo Le would be nice as well. Will have to see how my luck goes.
I'm not much of a meta player (i mean, I like having braindead ops as much as the next guy and im too smoothbrained to do real challenge clears, but still)- its still nice to know generally what they all can do without having to watch a million different clears and guides. I think my pull list is gonna be: 1. Ascalon (as an ambusher lover/mizuki simp, they would be so fun to use together with modules I'm so excited eeeee) 2. Ash (FOMO, also i only got my first 6* sniper a couple weeks ago and i started in like 2022 lmao. powercreep who) 3. Logos (meta pick ngl, but ive always been interested in his lore... i dont want walter though so I'll just go for 1 6* on the banner and leave it to chance) 3. Zuo Le (he's my son im adopting hi- i mean uh. pretty cool mechanics. if i have the funds I'll try this banner) 4. Shu (she's there, why not. pretty grass tile effect hehe) 5. Dusk/Nian (honorary mention; no shot i have enough to spark but i love them ugh my heart)
Haha nice list. I myself put shu above everyone else because I'm a sucker for mythical dragon family team (currently only missing ling but no shot I would be able to spark)
I wll be getting ash because, for some reason, in a world of animal/human hybrids, deepsea people, living legends what I most find cool is just regular humans in militar gear and clothes, "Oh you have a cool sword, well not as cool as this mgl and ak47" type of feeling
I'm surprised that Ascalon is ranked that high because when the Babel event came out, everybody was talking about the lore bomb so much that I didn't see anyone talking about her in game performance at all.
They finally powercrept Texas, and her name is W. :D Silliness aside, I do feel W is exactly a powercreep on Texas, far more than people like to compare Sniper Ch'en with her. Ch'en was always overpowered as a sniper, but had restrictions, whereas Texas was always the globally present get out of jail card with insane utility and damage. And W does exactly that, but somehow better despite not being technically global. Degen is silly with the numbers on her 3rd skill, aye. What still has me most bummed out about her is that they put none of her boss functionality in her kit, from blink (we saw the newest operator, they have the technology! :D), to her camo/invis, to her disable (foes don't have SP, so it coulda been a skill that applies bind+silence+stun at once, maybe passive and on a threshold bases with only one/a few triggers, like Dreadnaught revive module/Texas reset talent). Black Knight just ain't Black Knighting, simply curb stomping. Shu and Logos definitely have the unique tools to keep 'em high on the list, aye. And Logos' damage is damn high, even if it feels disappointing he powercreeps our local Volcano so much (what's an AOE caster?). I think Ash still has a lot of utility, and she'll remain viable due to it, even with how modern nonsense is a lot stronger, and elites are still very few that are stun immune, so her niche will always be strong, I can't really say she falls off too bad. Ela I don't understand well enough to say. :D Zuo I've been preaching since a week after his release, an infinite SP self-battery that puts even Saga to shame. :D Ambriel can beat out Ray in range, good Sir! But not beat her out otherwise, alas~ But aye, can't wait for another effectively global operator, she's one of the ones I'm most excited for, for sure. Reed I think still has the highest skill damage (bar W, but W), to a single target with her 2nd skill. She is indeed the best caster, even better than Angelina. Quercus is still the best medic though. I can remember Manticore was my first 45 Cert op - any cert really - definitely loved the AOE slow, and with moduled Specter, the Calm, that was a 84% slow zone up most times. Ascalon is a bit too broken, but can't wait to pair her with either or both of the 2 for a 89% or however much the calculations stop at, perma-slow zone. :D And bloody scallywags, those are some crazy clears, Mate, WP!
Ash situation is a problem of balance creep. They balanced the enemy stats around the new units that do disgusting amounts of damage, that her niche got deleted from existence now that enemies are immune to stun and have like a billion HP and defense.
It makes me sad to see Hellagur get so badly powercrept. I really like him and I really like his skills but the absolute worst part about him is his 1 block. 100% I believe that they could have "fixed" Hellagur by making one of his modules give him +1 block. He still would have been worse than Mountain but there are enough situations where a second Mountain would be useful that Hellagur would still have his moments. But nope, that 1 block will forever be his downfall.
Im making 10 accounts once W Alter drops, imma keep rerolling untill i get her on every single one of them and then im gonna sell them for 50 euros a piece
I'mma say a controversial statement; I think powercreep outside of maybe Walter is a normal and even good thing for games. I know. I'm crazy, right? I mean I don't actually have an issue with Walter but i'm biased... but for normal game progression, the only real reason I find this to be an issue is because it's a gacha. Outside of that element... games get boring after a while if nothing powers up. And new characters are bound to do that. Don't get me wrong! I want some of the power creep to be characters without modules VS them WITH modules. It's obviously a much fairer way of keeping things going. But they wanna make money, and thus the power creep will come from new characters. In a lot of games (Like card games), if you don't add crazy new mechanics... it just gets stale. There is obviously a tight balance you have to maintain between having sick new ways to play and basically making a one stop ticket to winning, but at the same time... it doesn't REALLY matter in single player games. If this was a competitive online game, I'd hate walter with a passion because you could NOT run a team without her. It wouldn't work. You'd get fucked wherever you go. But as a single player game? You can still have TONS OF FUN with older characters. Nobody is gonna ruin that for you. Even stat inflation can't generally ruin that because outside of the highest end content there's no reason for companies to inflate stats THAT much.
Your not crazy power creep is inevitable and can be good if done well over all. Walter is an exception mainly because she has no actual draw back besides being limited. And for now no actual content sees struggle with her even solo. But that aside the worst sin of Walter is just how boring her kit is and that is in big part because she has no draw backs. Being brain dead is ok but completely invalidating most content by yourself is just too much (especially off skill). Will say though power creep only truly matters when old ops are completely useless. Which most aren’t unless you are playing something like high risk contingency contract.
Thanks for the video. I don’t know what to think about Ela. She looks interesting and strong, and if I want her is now or never. But then, you rarely see her on videos, and W kinda power creeps everybody. For now, I’m going after W alter, Ela and Ray. But this video pushed Ascalon and Shu up.
I literally started playing Arknights this week and I’m wondering who I should pull in the upcoming banners that pop up. Still unsure what’s the best character for a beginner out of all those that have been showcased
Honestly, im scared to think what the power level of units in 2026 will be, like this is the 5th anniversary, not the endgame for arknights since theres still tons of lore to expand upon like why the universe is dying and probably killing theresis. By then we might get some operator who makes Wisadel look like a dollar store pipe bomb
Don’t be the only content they around 6*s is high risk contingency contract which is the mode meant for sweaty whales. Story and other content wise you will be fine you may need to get more creative with your strategy though. Also this is not including if they actually decide to give us good 5 or 6 star welfare units again.
I would really welcome more characters with invisibility counterplay because Ines being the sole operator who can do so in a convenient/flexible manner feels a bit egregious when considering how commonly it shows up on challenge maps.
19:53 Um, are you maybe thinking of a certain other upcoming operator's spheres (whom you did not showcase as they will be free and acquirable by all)? Because I've been using Reedalter since her release and I don't recall her spheres ever disappearing until the skill is over.
She summons a sphere again every time it disappears, you can see in the video after I said that that when there’s more than 1 enemy being blocked by Hoshi she still only hits 1 enemy
@@Storn_ I had to check in my own game to see what you meant (because I find that Reed's skin for some reason makes the effects on her skills HARDER to see), but I understand what you mean now. You're right, my bad.
And then a wild Ulpianus appeared. I think the operator I disagree the most with is Ash. Not so much because of strength in the usual sense, but more because of demand. In a lot of stages where you want a ranger, you want multiple ones to deal with flying unit spam. I'd rate Shu higher than Degenbrecher and possibly even Wis, as she has not one but two broken passives. My guess is, that a lot of "default" Teams in the future will be the Abyssal Hunters, 4 Sui Operators a Flagbearer and two flexible slots, most likely for Vanguards, Mountain, Thorns, Eya Alter, Reed Alter, Wis etc.
I do not really care if Ash is "the weakest" operator, I missed her the first time and wanted her ever since, I like borrowing her and I would love to finally own her myself My most anticipated new units are probably Shu and Logos
just came back recently to arknights with the degenbrecher banner, took a look at it and immediately thought "this has to be op, if i dont pull im an idiot". and so i did, i think i pulled her within 20 pulls or something and then i actually inform myself and see that everyone is having the same thought as i had just months in advance
Now I "can't wait" to see a module for Surtr, or an alter. I remenber the moment when she was released and the insane amount of damages she have. But there is a price, maybe a low price, but still. For Walter. There's none.
You mean Ebenholz. Primal casters who gimmick was storing charges and deal a lot at once to a boss or something. Not that it was good enough to be “meta”. Hell not even Ebenholz was good enough to change that. Also Ebenholz is the only primal caster (and only 6* primal caster) with a delta module.
Real talk logos is very busted but he isn’t that far out of line of what is upcoming (excluding Walter for this talk) or what we currently have. That aside I still think he should be a supporter and a CC and subdps subclass. Would have made him more balanced
Tbh, I only really agree on the Ash and Wisadel placements, kinda disagree with the rest of the rankings (like Logos and Ela should be higher imo), but it's still otherwise nice to know what each op does at the end of the day you know. Great content :D
I 100% understand where you are coming from, your ranking is basically the "fomo priority", but this list is "power priority" so Ash is definitely the lowest pick. Ash was actually decently strong on her release, but aged poorly really fast. If I also factored in FOMO, then yeah Ela would be my highest priority as well, but I already have Ash and would not mind skipping her by now even if I did not own her already. For me FOMO for fake limited basically does not exist, so at that point my priority is Logos.
@@Khroniclas Yep. You will *eventually* get non limited ops (Logos, Zuo le). For me and majority of my friends that casual, its always limited, waifu, husbu > lore > power. Powerful doesnt mean shit for us when we can just borrow walter, or Shu, etc. Funny thing is my one friend hates Ela so much cus in R6s he always dies to those mine and he will skip Ela too in AK. His priority is Shu now and skip all the way to Ulpian.
mostly new player here are any of this units able to be bought with golden certificates? if not should I buy goldenglow? will have enought in a few days
@@joselinjoselan1 it will take more than a year for them to get to the shop after their release and some of them will never go there since they are limited so it’s up to you who you buy there
Due to the limited banners, the only Operator I might skip is Ray, but only because I have Typhon to do almost the same thing already. As for Zuo, Logos, and the R6S, I'll get them by rolling for the limited anyway. The only real question is who to save mats for to build once I get them.
I only play this game about 9 months the operator that i got that made me help easier on any stage are thorn/typhoon/ines/eyjaAlt And im so happy that i got them this is my second acc While im having a hardtime on my main cuz i dont have those They gave me 3 flametail on every loss banner and i dont even have limited operator on main acc while my second acc have 6 limited
arknights stages of powercreep be like 1. Silverash is OP omg 2. Surtr is OP omg 3. wtf is this degen 4. How can a caster acts like a tank (logos) with gazillion damage and how can a sniper be merged with supporter role with gazillion damage that named after a bald dude in Albuquerque. and i think it can get worse in the future
My target priority is Ascalon, Shu, Ray, and W. Unfortunately, I do not think I have the luck or pulls available to try for all of them so I think I’ll skip Ray. The next 6 months have way too many characters I like.
@@Khroniclas but shu will be in a cny limited shop next year right?

Seeing actual in game usage of an operator makes it easier to put into perspective how high their power level truly is.
As a relatively new player; videos of Operators' multipliers and max mod, max lvl and max trust stats don't really mean much and seeing something like this is a lot more helpful :D
This is why I now borrow units tto see how they play to review them, but it takes time. And not evryone will have S2 or othr skills to test.
Logos also has the advantage over Ray that he shares the banner with Walter, so more people will have him/have at higher potentials :P

@@moothemoo4896 then at that point what’s the difference

Man fr tho, wisadel is sniper/aoe caster/ baiter( the summon)/ londonium canon/ boss killer in one packet 💀

Mumu s3 on ranged form can also perma bind 1 target & with some good ops to copy, like besieger, has better range too
Ray's fast skill cycle & high dphcant be replaced by mumu tho
@@frauflaw100edibleorganicco9 Well Ray is used more for the damage than the bind tbh, it's just that the bind is a great way to keep her target in range. It just so happens that this also means she has some utility and not pure dps. Afaik basically any content in which Ray's bind is crucial, her damage is crucial too.
you never use ray s2 huh,her s2 just bad for "unlimited duration" skill, not worth to m3
she also really has a problem with ammo trait, even with s3

Degen feels like the devs trying too hard to avoid a repeat of Vivianna. Hence the power.

Hell yeahh.. wis'adel is on another level, she's built different
Really good video. I don't really disagree with your placements, buf even if I did, I believe you made a good job showing each of those operators good and bad points.
Ascalon’s kit is the textbook definition of “say less”. Seriously it does SO much
The thing that hurts the most about Wisadel that with S3 and 3 of her shadow crystal things she does more damage off skill than Ros does on skill.
Tbh I would rate Ela much higher.
Yeah idk what is this dude smoking. 35% fragile everywhere on the map while also having ridiculous DPS. Ela is as strong as Degen.
(and the best thing is that this means she can provide value for them too, that's the nice thing about being a DPS+Support like Logos and Ela, you never truly compete because you always synergise with competition too which becomes more obvious the more DPS you actually bring.)
To really hammer this one down, imagine putting Ela+Degen against Ray+Degen.
TLDR:
Wisadel > Logos > Shu > Ela > Degen > Ray
@@KhroniclasI think we should wait for more difficult content for shu because for all of them upcoming she hasn't shine anywhere except RA. You wouldn't get immediate big value from getting her because oftentimes what you already has is enough. Her niches aren't as pronounced as others in team clears yet. I'd put her behind degen specifically for now but they're all gigabusted. Walter is Walter, Logos offers SO MUCH in one package, Ela also, Degen is braindead IS and must RA picks, Ray is ccb2 and IS goat.
the BGM selection in this video is really nice
Good one bro. This ranking system helped me a lot in discerning better ops than normal ops.
rosa and typhon, schwarz and pozy, hellagur and zhuo lee, saria and shu. I'll conclude this never ending debate with "I'll use both"
considering i'm planning to do sarkaznkights anyways then i may as well save my pulls for 5th anni banner, might get an ascalon along the way
Hi Storm, I've been seeing your content for a long time, I follow you with my private account.
Ray is what the CN community call a "next-gen can opener". She's just really good at shreddin high-armor target.
Ah yes my favourite upcoming operator reed
Hoederer, crusher: he has massive HP and HP regen built in so he’s essentially just a slower hitting musha
Ray, Hunter: you don’t actually have to contend with her weird range and she has a skill that loads all bullets first, then attacks
Mountain, brawler: actually, just becomes a 2 block AOE guard with HP regen, and a built in attack debuff
lol, it’s just funny how they realized how shit some of these types of units are and just went “uhhh…..just forget they’re like that”
Honestly I wouldn’t cite hoederer as an example of a broken op😂 , if you wanna say ulpianus then sure. Ray is honestly the one that I disagree the most in saying they removed the archetype’s uniqueness as you still have to manage her bullets when she is normal attacking and even when using skill if you don’t have her mag fully loaded you’re gonna lose a lot of total dmg since her skill uptime will be wasted reloading and her range feels actually like a resource you have to manage with the sandbeast’s redeploy time and requires skill to make full use of
I don’t want to imagine how complicated they make future stages so the game doesnt became laughably easy with these new units
I think my pull list is gonna be:
1. Ascalon (as an ambusher lover/mizuki simp, they would be so fun to use together with modules I'm so excited eeeee)
2. Ash (FOMO, also i only got my first 6* sniper a couple weeks ago and i started in like 2022 lmao. powercreep who)
3. Logos (meta pick ngl, but ive always been interested in his lore... i dont want walter though so I'll just go for 1 6* on the banner and leave it to chance)
3. Zuo Le (he's my son im adopting hi- i mean uh. pretty cool mechanics. if i have the funds I'll try this banner)
4. Shu (she's there, why not. pretty grass tile effect hehe)
5. Dusk/Nian (honorary mention; no shot i have enough to spark but i love them ugh my heart)
Haha nice list. I myself put shu above everyone else because I'm a sucker for mythical dragon family team (currently only missing ling but no shot I would be able to spark)
You can't forget about shu synergy with her sister
That passive healing can keep lings dragons standing alot longer then they normally would
The list is pretty evenly ranked, insane to see how broken each one before is though
Actaully a really good video
good video and i would like to see more video like this, also i recommend in the end u put them in a list and also timestamps for the video
Yeah I forgot to make a list at the end…
Great points all across. Probably have been suggested before, but text-to-speech will make your videos a lot easier to watch
Silliness aside, I do feel W is exactly a powercreep on Texas, far more than people like to compare Sniper Ch'en with her.
Zuo I've been preaching since a week after his release, an infinite SP self-battery that puts even Saga to shame. :D
Ambriel can beat out Ray in range, good Sir!
And bloody scallywags, those are some crazy clears, Mate, WP!
Sounds like a plan
@@sandra0311 Thank you^^
Your nickname is gipsy for a reason, right?
Thanks for the review!
To be fair w is so op she ruined a lot of the hype for ray
I literally started playing Arknights this week and I’m wondering who I should pull in the upcoming banners that pop up. Still unsure what’s the best character for a beginner out of all those that have been showcased
just save for wisadel
@@Storn_ thank you so much!
I'm not deciding who to pull based on meta, my waifu loving brain only wants mommy Degen, Aschalon, and Logos-oppa, I shall obey it.
Edit: Ulpianus...
I would really welcome more characters with invisibility counterplay because Ines being the sole operator who can do so in a convenient/flexible manner feels a bit egregious when considering how commonly it shows up on challenge maps.
FINALLY, MY LOVE FOR W IS VALIDATED!
thx as always for the video
19:53
Um, are you maybe thinking of a certain other upcoming operator's spheres (whom you did not showcase as they will be free and acquirable by all)? Because I've been using Reedalter since her release and I don't recall her spheres ever disappearing until the skill is over.
She summons a sphere again every time it disappears, you can see in the video after I said that that when there’s more than 1 enemy being blocked by Hoshi she still only hits 1 enemy
@@Storn_ I had to check in my own game to see what you meant (because I find that Reed's skin for some reason makes the effects on her skills HARDER to see), but I understand what you mean now. You're right, my bad.
Great video, thank you! It's hurts me to skip Ray, Ascalon, and Degen, but I need to save for Ela, Ash and Wisadel!
Lore accurate Ascalon is real and WILL hurt you
Came back to Ak after 2 years because I saw the cockroach getting an insanely strong alter, she was my favourite operator. Going to save for her.
I do not really care if Ash is "the weakest" operator, I missed her the first time and wanted her ever since, I like borrowing her and I would love to finally own her myself
My most anticipated new units are probably Shu and Logos
just came back recently to arknights with the degenbrecher banner, took a look at it and immediately thought "this has to be op, if i dont pull im an idiot". and so i did, i think i pulled her within 20 pulls or something and then i actually inform myself and see that everyone is having the same thought as i had just months in advance
Now I "can't wait" to see a module for Surtr, or an alter. I remenber the moment when she was released and the insane amount of damages she have. But there is a price, maybe a low price, but still. For Walter. There's none.
Logos proves Primal Casters are a waste of time if Core Casters can just have delta mods day 1 :)))
"Zuo Le is a great example of power creep" while using Phantom lol.
Agree on all of the placement except for Logos, still a pretty damn good list tho :D
Real talk logos is very busted but he isn’t that far out of line of what is upcoming (excluding Walter for this talk) or what we currently have. That aside I still think he should be a supporter and a CC and subdps subclass. Would have made him more balanced
Thanks, but I'm literally skipping everyone.
Ascalon seem interesting,
Tbh, I only really agree on the Ash and Wisadel placements, kinda disagree with the rest of the rankings (like Logos and Ela should be higher imo), but it's still otherwise nice to know what each op does at the end of the day you know. Great content :D
My rank would be
1. True limited : Ash and Ela
2. Fake limited : W and Shu
3. Other
I 100% understand where you are coming from, your ranking is basically the "fomo priority", but this list is "power priority" so Ash is definitely the lowest pick.
@@zynczinc1443 there is a setting to tone down the shake/explosion intensity to help to see better
mostly new player here are any of this units able to be bought with golden certificates? if not should I buy goldenglow? will have enought in a few days
@@joselinjoselan1 it will take more than a year for them to get to the shop after their release and some of them will never go there since they are limited so it’s up to you who you buy there
Thst Reed+Texas combo! Nice!
Waiting for someone to comment timestamp 😊
I was debating between Ascalon, Ray and the R6 Ops. But then they unveiled Wis'adel and now all my plans went out the window.
Logos is the Hol'Heyak we wanted
Me watching Degenbrecher utterly powercreeps my chen and irene: 💀
i just want to get babylon operators and I am happy with that.
I need whetever shit the dev smokin when they design walter
Due to the limited banners, the only Operator I might skip is Ray, but only because I have Typhon to do almost the same thing already. As for Zuo, Logos, and the R6S, I'll get them by rolling for the limited anyway. The only real question is who to save mats for to build once I get them.
Damn. I never thought will actually start farming orundum.
Where would you rank Ulpianus? Even outside of AH squads he seems pretty strong and with AH squads he looks almost as busted as Wiš
I only play this game about 9 months the operator that i got that made me help easier on any stage are thorn/typhoon/ines/eyjaAlt
And im so happy that i got them this is my second acc
While im having a hardtime on my main cuz i dont have those
They gave me 3 flametail on every loss banner and i dont even have limited operator on main acc while my second acc have 6 limited
when Shu drops, her banner has Ling, Dusk and Nian on rateup as well right? I only have Chongyue rn
Yeah, they should all be on rate up except maybe Nian since she is pretty old.
Yes, we are expecting Shuu's banner in late July. Good luck!
So by these rankings, as a f2p player, get degen, skip ray, get shu, skip the r6 collab, skip ascalon, and get wisadel and logos...
arknights stages of powercreep be like
1. Silverash is OP omg
2. Surtr is OP omg
3. wtf is this degen
Ray and ela are the only ops i want tbh. I GOT ASH ALREADY BABY LETS GOOO
Ascalon = Ethan got benched permanently card
Basically does his job but better
I'm still skipping Degenbencher out of spite, break the ice was torture
To spite whom?
