I'm an old lady (well, 58, but still...), and the blue eyeshadow with the hoop earrings is definitely a 1970s vibe. The first makeup product that I ever bought was a "frosted" blue eyeshadow! I ordered the eyeshadow palette because I was feeling nostalgic. Glad to see that the palette seems to be good quality. As for the primer, I have oily, sensitive skin; so, It wouldn't work for me. I feel like the elf collab makes more sense for American eagle. I feel like AE could easily put it by the checkout line as a quick pick up for customers to add to their cart. Especially the lip product. I could also see it being a super easy item to add as a gift from those buying a gift card for a teen that loves AE. Elf is fairly affordable and I see this being an easy way for AE and elf to make a quick buck together. I actually really find the collab fun 😂
When I saw the new American Eagle eyeshadow collab palette, I felt like they just enlarged the "Cookie and Dreams"eyeshadow a little bit and then put a new name on it. 🙄
Exactly me thoughts! I got the cookies and dream palette at TJ Maxx for a few bucks and I must say I hate it. And I entertain drug store eyeshadows ~ love my cover girls and milani pallets
I have both and think that the AE one is actually very different! There are a lot more blue shimmer shades in this new palette. I wouldn't call them dupes! Just two blue themed palettes :)
For colorful shades, I personally feel like they blend better if you pack them on where you want the most color and do more of a tapping motion to blend, then use a clean brush to blend the edges. Whenever I try to do more of a swiping motion I feel like it wipes off the color more and turns out more patchy

Off topic: I saw a discussion about the Kosas concealer you were disappointed, and from lab tests 2 chemists (Jane Tsui and Javon Ford) found out that bacterial contamination is pretty low (or it's better saying, in a moderate range), so actually the problem remains the odour which lead to think the product is filthy, but fortunately seems like It isn't

Hi Kelly! My skin was flaky when I went to adapalene use nightly and a facial oil on top of my moisturizer in those areas at night really helped! Pacifica has an oil with ceramides that is my holy grail- highly recommend!
My mom has rosacea and started using jojoba oil. I have flakiness and acne and eventually realized this means "dry," and now oils like the Pacifica one have curbed the flakes, helped me stop picking, and let me wear foundation!!

Deep/dark blues (think Mets to Yankees blue), hunter/emerald greens, & deep purples (closer to eggplant than amethyst) all look amazing on brown eyes. Mine are so dark that they look black in a lot of light, so I try to brighten them up with bold lids. But even your normal (in a good way!) brown eyes will really pop against those colors.
I love the idea of a denim inspired eye palette. The colors look so pretty. Also the flower beauty concealer is my new favorite. Like I’ll never need to buy the Kosas or the shape tape again
I am 45 and have dry skin. I have tried the these new glow drops just where my pores bother me the most over my moisturizer and have had no problems. I remember having sensitive skin and broken abrasive skin from treatments in years past. I would not give up on the drops. Unless they are simply not a good match for your skin right now.
I’ve been using the blur drops and had no adverse affects. I do use them as a primer and I have oily skin. For the Elf lip balm…it was okay! I wouldn’t repurchase, because it didn’t last long and wasn’t moisturizing. It did give a cute pink tint to my lips but that’s about it. I didn’t have any settling of the blue though so maybe you got a wonky tube of it. I have the eyeshadow palette and love it. I was able to create a gorgeous blue look and the pigmentation was great. I didn’t have any staining or anything like that with the palette.
The blue tones in the palette are my favorite kind of blues. However I don’t wear blue often enough and I have a couple of blue palettes already. The collab is cute but I would have preferred some blue eyeliners or mascara instead of the mask. The bag is cute and I’m still obsessed with AE jeans.
I don't think blue is particularly harder to formulate, it's just harder to blend it into the skin because the colors are so far off from our skintones. Well, most of us anyway are not blue. So browns and other neutrals blend with our skintone, which makes them easier to use. Blue doesn't blend into our skintone, so we have to work harder to blend them out. I have never had a blue eyeshadow stain though.
As someone with sensitive skin I couldn’t wait for you to go wash this off. Hope your skin is ok! Stratia Liquid Gold has been great for repairing my skin barrier.

I think your irritation is the compromised skin barrier. I had this happen last year. On top of that I developed an allergy to the Mychelle sunscreen. Definitely stay away from ALL products, and I had a script from my dermatologist- Triamcinolone Acetonide. It can be miserable so I also used Vanicream. It was from my dermatologist also and I STILL love all Vanicream products. Especially for us who try products so often.
is the AE elf pallet better than the cookies n dream? Because I hated that one ~ hard to blend, irritated my eyes, felt dry and scratchy on the lids. PS I would love a lil video about Caliray ~ is it the new Urban Decay??! Started by the old owner of UD or something. Also a try on for them? I find that if I use too many products with niacinimide, even *that will make it feel like my skin is burning…and my skin usually tolerates niacinimide well. It’s a crap shoot trying new formulations, especially when I’m using actives.
I’m actually very interested in the eyeshadow pallet! I’ve been on the hunt for the last several months for a good blue eyeshadow pallet, but wanted one that wasn’t too spendy , or too large & the caveat was that it needs to have some shade(s) of brown for a transition color. And AE is my JAM!! Their jeans have been a staple in my wardrobe for 20 years and I’m turning 52 next month. Thanks for the try-on with these products, but sorry your skin wasn’t feeling great after the application. I’d rest your skin for a day or two and only use a good moisturizer on ur face for now 💄💋👏🏻❤️

I wonder what the percentage of salicylic acid (BHA) is in the Glow Recipe primer? I couldn’t find it online. ELF’s acne putty primer is 1.8% salicylic acid, and I find that one to be really gentle.
It’s a bit ironic- I’m 26 and just now starting to buy my own clothes instead of getting hand me downs. I wore a lot out, donated what I didn’t like, etc. So I’m just now shopping at Hollister and AE and Aerie. Admittedly, I was never the cool girl. Skinny jeans, uggs, and black north face jackets were what was fashionable when I was in high school. I still liked the bootcut/lightly flared jeans but everyone changed over basically overnight. I don’t like the flare now because it’s too much on my frame. I’m looking for jeans that are lightly flared like when I was a kid.
Every time I see a pretty blue eyeshadow I’d love to try, I feel so deeply resentful of my blue eyes. I’ve NEVER found a blue eyeshadow that works with blue eyes, it always looks so…flat. I feel like brown & green eyes can work with brown & green shadows, but blue on blue just doesn’t work :(
Every time I take out my Aerie/AE card in store all the employees say, “WOW, I’ve never seen one like that!!” Even back in 2014/15, when it was only a few years old since I got it in 2010. It makes me feel SO old now 🤣

I don't understand the point of that primer. You shouldn't be using a BHA without sunscreen, but if it's in a primer, you're not going to want to put sunscreen on top of it. It's just a bad idea. If you want to use BHAs, use them at night, and then use vitamin c and sunscreen during the day. Find a sunscreen that works well for you as a primer.
That glowrecipe product is overpriced and kind of useless. Also, the packaging is terrible. I am going to overuse it because controlling how much comes out is impossible. Definitely a huge miss for me.
Blue eyeshadow, big hoop earrings, and flare jeans is a 2000 vibe I’m here for. ✌️

You should try the peach and lily glass refining serum. My skin barrier was very damaged and it’s helped a good amount.

Their powder eyeshadow formula doesn't seem to work for me either, I don't know if it's my dry eyelids or what, but they don't blend well for me.

I know that Mac has the refined zone primer with salicylic acid that Mel Thompson used and swore by for years so maybe the glow recipe is similar?
It started off looking a little finicky with the blue mattes, but I love how the eyelook turned out. Those blue shimmers really suit you :)

I wonder what the percentage of salicylic acid (BHA) is in the Glow Recipe primer? I couldn’t find it online. ELF’s acne putty primer is 1.8% salicylic acid, and I find that one to be really gentle.

It’s a bit ironic- I’m 26 and just now starting to buy my own clothes instead of getting hand me downs. I wore a lot out, donated what I didn’t like, etc. So I’m just now shopping at Hollister and AE and Aerie. Admittedly, I was never the cool girl. Skinny jeans, uggs, and black north face jackets were what was fashionable when I was in high school. I still liked the bootcut/lightly flared jeans but everyone changed over basically overnight. I don’t like the flare now because it’s too much on my frame. I’m looking for jeans that are lightly flared like when I was a kid.
Every time I see a pretty blue eyeshadow I’d love to try, I feel so deeply resentful of my blue eyes. I’ve NEVER found a blue eyeshadow that works with blue eyes, it always looks so…flat. I feel like brown & green eyes can work with brown & green shadows, but blue on blue just doesn’t work :(
Every time I take out my Aerie/AE card in store all the employees say, “WOW, I’ve never seen one like that!!” Even back in 2014/15, when it was only a few years old since I got it in 2010. It makes me feel SO old now 🤣

I’m 64 and still wear them for the same reason.
I don't understand the point of that primer. You shouldn't be using a BHA without sunscreen, but if it's in a primer, you're not going to want to put sunscreen on top of it. It's just a bad idea. If you want to use BHAs, use them at night, and then use vitamin c and sunscreen during the day. Find a sunscreen that works well for you as a primer.

That glowrecipe product is overpriced and kind of useless. Also, the packaging is terrible. I am going to overuse it because controlling how much comes out is impossible. Definitely a huge miss for me.
I noticed the same with that primer. Not for the dry skinned populous.
