The whole intelligence unit and relationships is so intense all the time which I love and is a great contrast to the other Chicago’s. Their is always an internal struggle what they go through on a daily basis and see stories of the individual members is always really good. Voight is like a father to all his unit and he treats all of his unit like his own children. He would sacrifice himself straight away for them and do anything to make sure they don’t get hurt, that’s why he always says to them whenever 1 of his members are in deep trouble he will shoulder and bare it for them. This is why Voight is so selfless, honorable, and amazing!😍👮♂️🚔
You are so right about that! Chicago pd also is much much darker and heavy that fire or med. Med is just dramatic, fire is funny and humorous, pd is dark. It was actually a good shoot. The reason Voight had to get rid of the body like he did was because the man was all jacked up. It wouldn't have "looked" like a good shoot. Hailey is such a hypocrite she did so much shady crap in season 7 she even murdered someone. By ratting out darius. I really can't stand her she's worse then Voit. At least Voit owns it and doesn't pretend like she does.
This scene is like Law and Order SVU when Elliot Stabler most times tries to beat suspect and Olivia Benson has to stop him Hank Voight and Elliot Stabler would make great partners but even Elliot doesn't go that far like Voight.
Someone that sees it like I do! I commented on an Organized Crime post that the ONLY way El is gonna get justice for Kathy is if Olivia calls Voight! Stabler & Voight can sneak Weatherly off to the Silos!
I kinda miss the old Hank. And what this scene doesn't show next is the Hailey was for to kill the guy because he got a hold of Hank's gun. BUT, the way Hank had his weapon so close to the guy when he was releasing him seemed so stupid of him, and we know that Hank is no that stupid. It's almost like Hank "forced" Hailey to kill him.
Voight was going to kill Roy regardless you go after his family or his team you pay a price in blood. Kevin Bingham learned that when he killed his son, Carlos Deleon learned that when he ordered the assasination of Al. When Roy bragged about his shooting of Burgess and leaving her daughter motherless he signed his death wish I think the only thing Voight regrets is Hailey refused to leave when he told her to and by then Voight had no choice but to involve her. Look what Voight does is questionable even immoral but he always makes sure when he does the dirty deed he does to make sure it falls on his shoulders alone. That’s why he sent the team away so he could hunt down Roy on his own that’s what he told Hailey numerous times to leave but Hailey being the stubborn girl she is refused so Voight regrettably had to get her involved but one way or another Roy was not walking out of there alive. I just worry Hailey will sell Voight out unlike Lindsay who kept the secret even covered for Voight when he killed Kevin Bingham. Hailey is too wishy washy and I feel she will not have Voight’s back if this comes to light.
@@nightwingman666 agree with you partially. Great description of Hank, very true. Now about Hailey, I don't agree with you there, Hailey as well as Adam are two most loyal people in the whole unit. Really, even the dark things Hailey did, she did them for others (for example she planted those drugs because of Rojas, she saw Rojas too heartbroken about her ex not getting the deal he deserved, she also covered Rojas when she deleted the video. Also, she covered Jay so many times and Adam). Hailey is incredibly loyal to those she loves. She always believed in Voight so no, I don't think she will speak about what happened, not even with Jay, because deep dawn she kind of understands Hank (even though she wouldn't do the same thing in his place, she just doesn't see the neccesity because Kim was already found). The very first time she appeared in the show she told Voight: "I don't know many, if any cop who would do what you did for that kid", she saw the bigger picture, she saw Hank's need to help that kid survive, despite going off book and law, that was the statement that made Voight offer her a job in intelligence. So IMO Hailey and Adam are the ones who understand Voight the best, they are the most loyal ones.
NIN 13 the difference is Hailey never fully does those things with intent the way Voight has done before its one thing to tip off a gang to kill Darrius Walker when he murdered her CI but to look in the eyes of a monster like Roy when you send him off to hell is a whole other playing field. Voight has had no trouble doing it since he’a done before and he can live with what he does. Given how torn up Hailey was about it at the end and the fact she cannot come clean about this otherwise its the end of her and Voight’s careers and probably the careers of everyone else in Intelligence her relationship with Jay does not help since he is the most anti-Voight of them all I truly feel she will come to a point where either to ease her guilt or to make Jay happy she can and will sacrifice Voight if this come up.
Just rewatched this, and it is a little pathetic how Hailey tries to hold Voight back and then gets upset when she verbally gets both barrells!! She wanted to stop Voight going at Roy... she should of given Voight her gun and stepped in front of Roy! Voight would of had to physically manhandle her out the way which I suspect he would not have done! Upton is 100lbs soaking wet versus Voight 180lbs that wasn't a push and shove she was going to win! The pay is probably higher and Hank said in the season 6 finale that Jay would be in charge as he was going to take care of the Kelton situation. But other than that, I don't see any differences in the jobs. Kim was still relatively new in Intelligence in season 5 while being Antonio's partner for a while, who was second in command after Hank.
@@joshuareid9765 Actually Kim officially joined Intelligence in Season 4, after her patrol partner, Mike Sorensen quit, and also Antonio went to work for Peter Stone. What this monster did, I would've look the other way. But Hailey did her best to hold Voight, yet the irony she had to kill the monster because he was about to harm Voight. Can't wait for Season 9!
I still don’t know why she tried to stop him; It’s an exact parallel of the episode(s) after Justin was killed and Voight hunted Kevin Bingham. Erin basically begged him not to go through with killing him, but he did it anyway 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
@@duchess2412 and in the season 4 premiere, she was haunted by that and did Voight a favor by moving Bingham's body before the Ivory Tower/IA went snooping... unfortunately, Danny in season 5 found out....that's why Voight burned Roy's body, so he didn't have to go through the same nightmare he and poor Al went through.

Hank Voight planned on that guy reaching for his gun and the icing on the cake was seeing Hank put that dude in the grave and this time burned the body so no evidence go come back to haunt them like it did Al👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Well said and agree! It was too much for him to let that evil man not get properly punished, so he thought of a clever way to make it happen while protecting his unit and do what he has to do. This is the side of Voight we’ve all been waiting for, but he did so well to behave, not anymore, the lion is out of the cage!😡🦁
Smart of voight
Of course he did...there was NO WAY that guy was EVER leaving that place alive. Hank wouldn't risk some lawyer finding a legal loophole for that guy to crawl through.

Hailey from "The rule follower", to "The darkness", to " Balance"
If anyone thought Voight untying the guy and leaving his gun exposed was unintentional, you don't know Voight. He knew they couldn't bring in the Roy looking like that. He knew Hailey would have to shoot Roy.

BUT, the way Hank had his weapon so close to the guy when he was releasing him seemed so stupid of him, and we know that Hank is no that stupid. It's almost like Hank "forced" Hailey to kill him.
He did, it's obvious, that it was intentional
@@nightwingman666 he should have shot roy in the Shoulder and then put his fingers inside of him to make him talk
Just rewatched this, and it is a little pathetic how Hailey tries to hold Voight back and then gets upset when she verbally gets both barrells!! She wanted to stop Voight going at Roy... she should of given Voight her gun and stepped in front of Roy!
