I am 66 yrs old. Ren has given me back my love of music. Not since the late 70's or early 80's have I followed an artist as close as I do Ren. He is a phenom ❣️ A once in a lifetime artist for all times. I have even found his rap to be interesting.
As a big time Police fan, I am so elated that there’s an artist out there that is unique to bring back old school vibes. My heart & soul was filled with happiness to hear a classic Police song. Love it! Ren is unstoppable and it’s great to see his maturity. Beautiful!
Ren continues to show how broad his musical influences are. I love his singing voice! Kai killed it on bass and the backup singers were fire 🔥 You can tell how much fun Ren had performing this. Can you even imagine Ren doing a small club show? It would be magical
Renaholic here, spent a sinful amount of time watching reactions and reading comments since Jan 23. A LOT of crossover, particularly from people who never listened to rap or actively disliked it before Ren. As the rap fans keep listening, I've noticed more of them saying, "actually I think I like his singing more."
Back on 74 is a track by Jungle. They choreograph their own videos, and specialise in one takes. The video to this is sublime. Absolutely 💯 genius what Ren brought to the track, but please please go have a look at Doc's review of it - he tells you all you need to know about it. Love this so much. Great reaction, thank you 💕
If there were any doubt that Ren stands shoulder to shoulder with the musical giants, this should put that to rest. 10:54 I grew up in the seventies listening to numerous great singers and my teens and twenties were spent in the 80's and heard a lot of the early rap greats. I've always had a passion for the diversity you could find in different genres. The thing about Ren is that musically, he scratches nearly every itch possible. And every time he tackles another genre, he nails it.
Ren has done a number of "Retakes". Essentially, it's like a remix but usually he's paying homage the original and doing some or all of his own lyrics. One of his most popular remixes is his Losing It - Fisher retake. Great reaction.
This was another brilliant ReNtake. Just Ren doing Ren things. He has music in his soul and pours so much soul into everything he does 🐰🕳️ Also can we talk about how perfect his voice is for singing Sting/The Police? Boy been lucky there considering how much he loves that music. And you can tell cause his voice comes alive once he gets into that familiar feeling ❤
Ren isn't bound by any genre - he is the embodiment of music. Nice reaction and you could tell you enjoyed the song which is always my favourite part of reactions even more so than the breakdowns or commenting.
Love this performance……soulful vibes with a little Ren twist….i never liked hip hop/rap before Ren …..think I just hadn’t found the right artist. This whole performance was 🔥🔥big up to Sylvia, Scarlett and Kai too. My favourite part of your reaction……just watching you vibing out to it 💜
P.S doc 'hinted' that this was recorded same time as MG3 - he's actually wearing the same suit, and the journey from Huntingdon England (MG3) to Brighton (this video's location) is only one hour travel x
Beg to offer a diff opinion if I may, MG3 was recorded in June of 2023. This bit was recorded in Brighton in December 2023 , he was home for about 3 weeks then. Did not get back to Calgary until after the New Year. As for the suit and red "power tie" it's the only one he has. LOL! He's more a 1990's track suit- wearing type of guy .😎😁
This track is so smooth and slick. Sylvia and Scarlett are fantastic with their on point beautifully timed harmonies. For Ren singing and beats are life, that’s why he’s always in form. The references in this retake track are all about communicating back through portals in time. Sending back messages in bottles and ancient ocarina sounds and the history of music in order to inform people that growth and stability through collaboration is the key. I’ve had a further thought since I wrote about that in Doc’s channel earlier, sparked by what you said about Ren’s rap, which is: As well as smoking/weed being a dopamine hit. Smoking creates a smoke screen “something to hide insecurities behind so you don’t lose your head in the fame and music game. Also, Ren is saying be careful not to become a ‘caddy daddy’ i.e. someone who owns a cadillac that is worth more than their entire life, yet respects their car more than they do their friends or family; because that ends in getting lost in monetary consumerism and losing your head. He’s telling the caddy daddy’s to hit the green, or to put it another way go ‘get lost’ or just go away.
Did you see the clip from "Ren not Ren", showed Ren laying in bed saying he quit smoking weed because it was becoming an unproductive problem. Something similar to that and now can't sleep.
great reaction dude! someone else said this was recorded when he was back in brighton around christmas so its pretty new. this was genius i think, the rap section in the middle just made it even more Ren and it worked perfectly!
🔥🔥 Love the mix up a genres in one song and how each part smoothed into the other 😎 , Ren's versatility just out of this world , can't wait to see what he does next 💞
Ren smashed it again….not really a surprise we know but that was soooo good!! I was both but more into EDM/Drum and bass over the last 20 years. No traditional artist has appealed and kept me hooked like this since Jackson.
Have you heard Beyonce and Miley Cyrus singing "Ii Most Wanted" ? It's another awesome sound " I love it!! ❤❤ They harmonize beautifully together OMG 🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤❤
He’s always been incredible but he’s improving day by day, god help us when he’s 100% 😂🔥🔥🔥 I’ve always just loved music, but metal core was my favourite before Ren. I listen to and love everything he has done though 🖤
I've been a fan of both singing and hip hop if I hear what I deem to be true talent. Have been listening to music avidly since I was a kid and rap/hip hop since it broke into the mainstream in the early to mid 80s. Until recently my view was that hip hop peaked in the 90s and early 00s, and then for me it became fairly predictable and largely boring, with a few exceptions like Childish Gambino and Kendrick. Ren got me back into it in a big way, and now I'm enamored with a whole new set of artists.
Hey Jesse, why no 'join' button for the YT channel? Is it because YT gets a rather substantial cut with no real 'perks' for the split? I only ask as a fan whose adhd-adled brain has a bit of difficulty navigating multiple platforms..or has a purposely driven need some months to forget everything, even the good stuff..including you. I wanna make it rain..but I'm gonna need an umbrella, lol
I was NOT a rap/hip hop fan...and I'm still not. I have individual artists that I enjoy (Ren, Denise Chaila, Sampa the Great all come to mind) but I still don't have much love for it overall. However, I think it has more to do with what is pushed by record companies/radio/media in general. You always find the best things when you discover stuff on your own...but I don't care for the genre enough to do the work to find the gems amongst all the garbage.
Singer and rock n rolll fan, always disliked rap primarily for the nasty side of its lyrics, very much respect it now for the rhyme schemes. Still cannot tolerate the ‘bitches and whores’ references

There is literally no musical genre that Ren can't inhabit and knock out of the park. Ren just loves music. That's it.
Ren continues to show how broad his musical influences are. I love his singing voice! Kai killed it on bass and the backup singers were fire 🔥 You can tell how much fun Ren had performing this. Can you even imagine Ren doing a small club show? It would be magical
With all that sultry heat, yet a sound so cool, this vid could quite literally turn fire into ice..and hence commences Ren's metaphysical arc, lol
@@MissyGail4eva Fire comment, and I totally agree!!

Quite literally, L🔥L
I would certainly love to see Ren in a small club show 🔥

The whole scheme is based on Police with a total twist. Smokey Ren

He also references them in his rap when he says "massive like Jungle". Their video is so brilliant too.
If there were any doubt that Ren stands shoulder to shoulder with the musical giants, this should put that to rest.

Same
Nice reaction :) Ren definitely got me much more into rap than I was before. 😁
Sounds like it should be on a Tarantino soundtrack.
TOTALLY agree!!
💯
I was never a rap or hip hop fan before I found Ren but he has totally converted me. There is nothing this boy can't do! Great reaction 💜💜

Great reaction to this 🔥🔥🔥 track. Big luv to Kai and the ladies, Sam on camera. Chef's 💋
BABY "PRINCE" returns...
Hahah that’s such a solid nickname! Stage name maybe? Lol

Ren is definitely his own totally AMAZING thing Xx
Jess, great reaction and Ren is fantastic here. You missed the fact that Ren had a singing mic and the swapped out the mic for the rap section.
Oh shit!! And I’ve watched it a bunch of times since too 😂😂 watching again brb
Wait I see a 7b the whole time 🤔
He sounds like friggin Smokey Robinson in the first verse!
I like all music and I think that why I love Ren so much. He does it all at a high level.
He can take anything i've heard ever and elevate it, special is an understatement.
Ren isn't bound by any genre - he is the embodiment of music. Nice reaction and you could tell you enjoyed the song which is always my favourite part of reactions even more so than the breakdowns or commenting.
2 covers and his own rap! Silk and honey to me with a side if soul. Great job all of you

Love Ren singing ❤🎶
Loved most genres before Ren so I absolutely love his category of music. It is just insane. He is a super human with ❤
Yankees represent….everything he does is special. He is truly a musical savant and a gift for all of us who are around now to witness him.
Thank you for mentioning the time he had to go through in Canada. The fan base never wavered. If anything, he got bigger. Protect him!!!
But he LIVES music, man, if you watch the "home video" clips, he's always humming, singing or playing an instrument... except in his sleep LOL
P.S doc 'hinted' that this was recorded same time as MG3 - he's actually wearing the same suit, and the journey from Huntingdon England (MG3) to Brighton (this video's location) is only one hour travel x
This was recorded in December while he was home for the holidays.

Check out his behind the scenes on this too when you have a sec... he's practicing even while hooked up to an IV...yeah... dedication 😊
Just Wow!!!
Right?!
It would be perfect title for his upcoming album🎉
Just a Ren fan. He makes me love music that I wouldn’t normally listen to.
Here to support. Subscribed.
Thank you Jesse for a great one! Hope the chick coop is coming along well.

Back on 74 - Jungle
So I actually reacted to a live jungle - back on 74 back in January - slipped me I guess 😂😂
Loved the song from Ren and the Reaction from you. Singer fan, not into rapping before Ren. Gotta protect him!
This music is so relaxing and smooth!❤❤
I have been SO curious about why Ren disappears with his microphone before going into the rap flow. You've given me an answer! Thanks!
