Caroline Flack was treated like a man, an equal to men, a person responsible for her actions. A man committing suicide under the same circumstances, would not raise this reaction. Society is not as equality minded as they claim, especially Feminists! It is obviously sad she couldn't cope but any lessons must be learnt and applied broadly.
Really painful to listen to the Sabisky section: 'Nonsense about the role genes play in IQ and inherited intelligence.' - What nonsense? 'Making the argument that genes play a greater role in people's educational performance than their teachers, part of me thinks what is the point in education?' - Want to actually counter that claim? And no, genes playing a greater role than teachers does not mean education, or teaching, is pointless. 'It is completely nonsense, it takes absolutely no account of social forces, same DNA... 2 parts of the world blah blah' - Yeah, you've really shown the top behavioural geneticists who advised on that report who's boss, I hear they're not gonna show up to work tomorrow because they heard your punishing counter arguments on the Spiked podcast. I could go on with the seemingly endless amount of straw man arguments. I love Spiked, but this was embarrassing. When it comes to nuanced scientific topics like the nature/nurture debate, it is probably advisable for journalists to reserve their comments, particularly when they know nothing about the issue.
The point where one of them suggested that If your born with a high IQ, then the'd be no point in going to school and having teachers, I felt my own IQ drop at listening to such a uninformed discussion. It's was as though we were listening to people seriously debating that the earth was flat. If your that uninformed that you conflate IQ with knowledge then you clearly have no business even discussing a topic like this, yet these pundits feel confident enough to pontificate as if they are oracles of the truth.
I also like Spiked, but they are rabidly anti-genetic determinism of any kind. Unfortunately, if you read about genetic contribution to intelligence, personality, work-ethic, motivation etc and also think back to your own time at school, it would seem that your genes are probably more important than your teachers. I can remember fiendishly intelligent people at school who did well no matter how rubbish the teacher was.
Well I sure hope the next relationship I'm in doesn't include going to the 'dark place' of being literally lamped round the head whilst sleeping. The CPS were doing the job they should have been doing. If there had been no evidence it wouldn't even have got into a courtroom (Can't Prosecute Service, anyone?) Also if Caroline had been a man doing same to his girlfriend, Twatter would have him hung drawn and quartered in the street before he even got the chance to top himself.
70% of domestic violence is initiated by women.More than 70% of children murdered by a parent are murdered by the mother. Yet how many women are held accountable? Women are arrested in only 15% of domestic violence arrests. Man accused of domestic violence: "What a monster" "No excuses" "Listen and believe the woman" Woman accused of domestic violence: "What did he do to you?" "There was something far more messy and complicated going on that's pretty common among couples" - Spiked
Flack waited till her victim was sleeping and defenceless. She then bludgeoned him about the head with a heavy table lamp. It left a scene befitting a horror movie with a blood spattered bed. An image she knew would be damning evidence against her was caught on the police body cams. The devil is in the detail, possibly literally, and any discussion should begin with a full description of the event. The subsequent “White Knighting” by the boyfriend is irrelevant. He had a lucky escape. The next one might not have been so fortunate.
Clair Rollings The wait on any trial is going to be a very long one. Therefore it seems reasonable to use the information that appeared in the media and our knowledge of the human condition to learn what lessons we can.
@@valaudae1809 I totally accept that women are as much perpetrators of violence and acts of insanity which I think that this was quite obviously the result of I think that she needed sectioning at the scene for psychological evaluation. This would have served everyone. Unfortunately hindsight is impossible to act on in this case but maybe we can all learn that there are always consequences for our actions and reactions!
"Most of us who are halfway sensible look at the information coming out of that case and come to to the conclusion she isn't a domestic abuser" Wait... what?! Are you serious? Hitting your partner over the head with a lamp isn't domestic abuse? What a ridiculous opinion. An opinion which any sensible person listening will realise the geniuses at Spiked wouldn't apply if the sexes were reversed. Great take there Spiked.
@@basiltozer9078 she lost her temper? Well that's true, but there are degrees to how badly one can lose their temper. In the 999 call the boyfriend made to police it has been reported he said that she attacked him in his sleep and tried to kill him. A police officer who attended the scene is reported to have said what they found ressembled a horror movie. Losing your temper isn't a sufficient excuse for hitting somebody in the head with a lamp while they sleep. Furthermore her ex fiancee has been hinting pretty heavily that the NDA he signed with her is preventing him from speaking about the domestic abuse he suffered at her hands. Flack will never get her day in court because she decided to end her life. But to make the claim that a panelist on this podcast made - that the available evidence suggests she wasn't a domestic abuser - is not only wrong it is hypocritical. Alleged males with a similar fact pattern to Flack would not be offered the same excuses and public clemency and rightly so. Abuse is abuse.
Much of the discussion on this video about the Sabisky affair consisted of a long series of straw man arguments -- in both directions. In the real world, hardly anybody believes that DNA accounts for everything, nor that it accounts for nothing, and the same is true of environmental factors. Can we have slightly more nuanced - shall we say "mature"? -- content from the Spiked team?
Genetics are a very large factor in determining outcomes in life, environmental factors are also of course important for allowing a person to reach their genetic potential. And here's me thinking that this was just common sense amongst most people other than the loony left.
Yup. There seems to be more and more evidence these days that actually genes play the biggest factor in someone's outcomes because they set the 'base level' for possible development. It's kinda depressing actually. The classic is that person who looks after their body their whole life and still dies of cancer, whereas the guy who smokes for 90 years doesn't. It follows that something like IQ would express itself on a spectrum- you are predisposed into a band of intelligence from birth, and can develop to the very top of that band, or stay near the bottom of that band if you're more 'environmentally challenged' lol This is why positive discrimination is shit. Someone who goes to a shit state school but who is just.... Well a bit thick tbh doesn't deserve to pick up oppression bonus points to help them into uni if this means that someone who is more intelligent who went to a private school loses out to them. I suppose you're relying on exam results accurately reflecting intelligence. ..... Which means we're all fucked lol (I say this as someone who went to a comprehensive so don't come for me prole warriors)
Spiked are terrified to step outside the Overton Window boundaries, lest they be labelled "far right" and end up like Tommy Robinson. That they are at times so wilfully unaware is quite depressing, really.
eureka312 you’ve got no evidence to the contrary. I on the other hand have such a massive amount of evidence, up to and including the theft of entire nations, I’m surprised you’re even trying to deny it
@@travelcrip715 both are correct. lol. which is why i don't actually care. Woman kills herself... we need to help women... man gets killed... what did he do to deserve it lol. Anyways life is just about power games
You guys did some epic level straw-manning of the IQ & genetics argument here. Why is everyone losing their minds over this? Why should the differences between groupings of people end at the shoulders? I'm just glad that 'white' people didn't come out on top, if that was the case I don't think any kind of serious discussion on the findings would be possible.
Caroline Flack viciously assaulted her boyfriend whilst he slept. The boyfriend himself called 999 so it must have been pretty serious. Had a male celebrity done the same to his girlfriend there would be UPROAR if the CPS dropped the case because of some "mental health" sob story. It is extremely common for the victims of domestic violence to withdraw their complaints so the CPS decision to press ahead regardless is not at all unusual. The jury could have acquitted her if they felt the prosecution was wrong.
My suggested reading for the Spiked team would be The Blank Slate by Steven Pinker, a left leaning scientist. Please read this book before engaging in the virtue signalling display of dismissing the effect of genes on IQ (and many other things).
I have always found it strange how animals are bred for good character, yet when it comes to humans we hold this view that we are a blank slate. I work as a software developer and consequently encounter people who have a might higher IQ than me on a daily basis. IQ does not necessarily mean that someone is a better person, I have met some people with high IQs who are genuinely nasty people, however IQ is measurable and is extremely relevant when it on comes to solving complex problems. I have absolutely no doubt in the role of genetics in IQ.
Sabisky's comments aren't given in context, so how are we to judge them fairly? If he was just spitballing different ideas to see where they took him, I'd say it was exactly the sort of attitude to free thought and creative problem-solving that our pc-dominated society severely lacks. We have to be free to explore all manner of possible solutions to problems and all manner of uncomfortable truths without self-censoring for fear of this very sort of thing happening. It's disappointing that none of the three Spiked commentators was capable of taking up this point.
Chris Hardwick lost his job with AMC over allegations of Sexual Misconduct based solely on un-named ramblings of his ex Chloe Dykstra. Chris stood up for himself and proved his ex was lying and got his job back. There was ZERO accusations or blame of the media posting all the lies against him. He was totally alone in defending himself. He was offered no day in court or no opportunity to face his accusations. Flack on the other hand had every opportunity to defend herself which she personally chose to reject. There is NO DOUBT that the response to Flack would never have occurred if she was male. The gynocentric double standard of the West is now at epic bias levels.
Tune in again next week when we will make unfounded proclamations that height is also not hereditary and that anyone who suggests otherwise is a cryto-fascistic ethno nationalist wrong thinker.
Spiked reveal themselves as the 'flat-Earthers' of human intelligence. I agree with these guys on so much, but when they start denying the pretty unimpeachable research on the relationship between genes and intelligence they show that their first commitment isn't to the truth.
@Muso Snoop If they are going to speak on subjects like this, at least do it with a little humility. The way they were pontificating as if they were bearers of the truth when they were so completely misinformed on the subject is what really annoyed me the most.
Very surprising to here the guys dismissing the genetic component of intelligence - it’s just not true. From what I remember hearing on another podcast, the current scientific understand is that it is around 60/40 genetic/environmental.
And most of the environmental factors take place in the womb and in the first five or so years after birth, and so if they really wanted to level the field and improve IQ across a population, focusing on the early years, rather than ploughing ridiculous amounts of money into failing state schools would be the thing to do. Judging by the level of this debate though I can't see any sensible actions that reflect reality ever taking place in my lifetime, people are just completely ignorant or in denial on this important topic.
Is it sexist to accept that the differences between men and women are in some part biological? Why is it racist to point out there are differences between ethnic groups?
It's amazing that someone so pro abortion like Ella has concerns about educating African women to have less children. We provide that education to women in our own countries. It would be great if Spiked actually interrogated the inconsistent ideological views of their contributors
Lol that's actually a really good point. Sex ed is this country: "great!" Sex ed in Africa: "fascist!" Unless of course you are being facetious and you are taking the 'telling African women to have less children' claim LITERALLY. I'd like to hear David Attenborough's own words verbatim.
Domestic abuser commits suicide. Unreleased statement now released after her death shows she took no responsibility for her actions. She also dated a 17 year old boy. Switch the gender and people would have celebrated the death.

this was not a "row". He was sleeping. The problem is now Caroline has insured the truth will never come out and her previous partner that she abused will remain silenced
Inflicting possible fatal injury with a weapon, while the victim is asleep is a VERY SERIOUS CRIME, and as such the police had absolutely no choice in this matter, whether the victim wished to press charges or not. What the police would describe as 'violent nutters' like Caroline Flint are regarded as a danger to the public as a whole, and so they should be. This is a particularly nasty thing to have happened. The victim may have his/her own motivations for forgiving, but society takes a different view, and so may any of her possible future victims. Being violently attacked while asleep could have serious long term effects on a person's ability to sleep soundly ever again. Luckily this is a relatively rare occurrence, and is usually only carried out by people with deep psychological problems of their own. The exact same types of people who often threaten, contemplate, or actually do commit suicide. These types are not all psychopaths, and not always bad people, but they are often dangerous to themselves and others. While it has to be said, some people can handle the legal or otherwise drugs or alcohol they consume, others not so much.
The thing that really shook me about the seriousness of this crime was that she hit him with a weapon whilst he was asleep. Apparently causing a rather nasty injury according to those involved. If that is normal behaviour in a relationship according to the spiked team then I feel sorry for their partners.
Have you not seen the twin studies? Intelligence is 50% pure genetic. And much of the remaining 50% is "womb conditions". Teachers are basically irrelevant for academic / career success. Peer group is 2nd most important factor after genes. As a parent reading to your child every night makes you feel better. And may give you a closer future relationship. But < 1% impact on their intelligence at age 25.
School is about giving you knowledge, skills and wisdom. Intelligence is your ability to pick these things up (well knowledge and skills, maybe not wisdom). Intelligence, like work ethic, is something you bring to the table. Teachers help you realise your potential more than they change your potential.
well the issue is there are differences in IQ between individuals. The group level abstraction is almost meaningless especially in the UK. table 4 shows in the UK blacks average IQ is 95 whites is 100 irish gypsies 89 indians 96 etc. www.unz.com/jthompson/uk-government-race-differences-in-achievement-must-be-explained/ THE ISSUE IS when people look at averages and use it inappropriately to discriminate between individuals instead of focusing on external qualifications and job performance then you are "unfairly" discriminating between "derserving" individuals. Group level abstraction about intelligence is useful when no other information is handed "even an interview" and you are selecting blind but these cases are almost 0. Now the issue is most individuals can't do simple quantatative reaosning so they wouldn't be able to accurately decide without "bias". that's why it's "better" to just say there are no meaningful differences between IQ lol. Only an idiot would say IQ differences in group level doesn't exist but also only idiots would be unable to break that down to what it means to individuals lol.
Ella pretty much said determinism isn't true without making an argument as to why that's the case. We live in a universe of particles governed by the laws of physics which leads me to think we live in a deterministic world.
Ewww Tommy. Ewwww IQ debate. Really ? No-one is saying IQ is 100% genetic. Upto 20% is social and when the average is 100 (but falling) getting people up 10 points is quite significant. We need to talk about how we VALUE people of lower IQ - not feel sorry for them.
It's not as if IQ is the be all and end all, it certainly helps, but there are certainly many more traits that will determine outcomes in life. And it's not as though caucasians even have the highest IQ on average, so those trying to paint it as some kind of far right view point completely misunderstand. I'm sure if we said that Africans are on average higher in terms of height compared to Asians, no one would seriously deny that.
Think of the coolest names in the history of hip-hop. Chuck-D, LL Cool J, Ice-T, Ice Cube, Q-Tip, Mos Def, Ghostface Killah the list is endless. I hear the name Dave and I think of how the character Trigger would always address Del Boy's brother Rodney.
Huh? A violent vindictive entitled woman is unexpectedly held accountable. Shock! Horror! She did what she did because she was given permission by a gynocentric society.
'..blamed for something you didn't do'. The boyfriend was taken to hospital. I doubt he hit himself over the head with a lamp! I doubt innocent people accused of wrongdoing kill themselves. Her ex-fiance also apparently said the relationship would have 'killed him'. So it seems the poor woman had some serious issues and it was a pity they weren't being addressed. RIP Caroline.
Love island lends itself to the mental health issue this country is in the midst of its degeneration. She has been accused of a crime and should go through the process thousands of men with the same accusation go through every year. The problem really is about Flack and her social community the finish is probably picked up or mostly going to be sickofants who will most likely be enabling her victimhood. Celebrity's should always be scrutinised and watched like hawks as they are the characters whom are the most risky. I will say one thing for Fleck the ITV should not have sacked her until the court case had been finalised.
All this does is expose the double standards that are running rampant in our country. Men are falsely accused of rape and assault and no one bags an eye. This women was an abuse and was going to be held accountable for her actions. It is amazing the media where very very quiet about the collapse of the trials yet not once did I see anything defending these guys.
Hi Spike Thanks for this item. Haven't been involved in this sad story. Read one article about this and can't help wondering where personal responsibility features in what took place.
Stories a fanny-magnet, for the media. Something on 'the news' a few days ago, a woman weeping - the camera focused-in on one eye & tear with running mascara. They love this stuff. Should stay in the semi-glossies at the check-out.
Not only did the boyfriend claim that she was trying to kill him, but that he had been asleep when she attacked him. So any idea that this was 'self defence' is hollow.
I work in this field- the general public would be amazed at how often we hear people who have been charged with a crime shriek they are going to kill themselves. For some it is obvious that they are genuinely supremely distressed and feel bad for what they’ve done, for others it is clear they are only distressed at the consequences and for a rather large number they scream the suicide word Cos they think somehow it will make the prosecution drop their case. Here is the uncomfortable truth- if you think you are the kind of person who, if caught doing something wrong, will commit suicide- DO NOT COMMIT A CRIME. It’s obvious.
I would expect a superforecaster to deal in unpalatable truths. Pressure to hold the view social norms dictate are the kind of bias that trips people up in making predictions.
Perhaps Ms Flack really did believe her life 'was now over' as her celebrity lifestyle was now at an end after ITV had dispensed with her services. In effect she made herself unemployable. The sheer work and grit of continuous fawning to get yourself into this position in the first place is incredible as there are any number of similar women waiting to fill your shoes. And her lies the problem: the wanna-be entertainment culture of people doing what needs to be done in order to accomplish what is described as a 'dream job' but is really a horrendous nightmare - having to constantly remind people you're interesting, pretty and desirable, and not a violent drink/drug-fueled individual with a fragile personality in need of anger management. This is the mental-health matter not being spoken about. When the whole world falls and people see the private side of your public persona.
@GALMA 0 well apart from admitting it on tape numerous times..and previous arrest for assault on a female partner . I'm guessing you are gaslighter as well
Off at a slight tangent here, but the Left say "Be Kind", yet find it ok to chuck around words like Racist and Fascist towards anyone who doesn't agree with them.

@@AH--173 I am supposed to be happy with the reversal of just the second most criminal act by any British government in our history? If we dont deport the approximately 20m+ illegal immigrants imported here after the war leaving the EU will be an empty act.
Love Island did not depend on Caroline Flack in the way that X Factor depends on Simon Cowell. She has been easily replaced. And yet she was due to be paid £1.2m pa. (see link below). The only explanation for this discrepancy is that the stories about CF in the media also acted as publicity for the show. Once the publicity turned bad, ITV probably decided to turn to a cheaper substitute presenter. They may also have been aware of her history of violence and inserted clauses that protected the company in her contract. (I suspect that the rapid departure of Andrew Stewart from ITV was also due to the company wanting to replace him with a younger model). www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/caroline-flacks-huge-love-island-18787365
I'm a fan (and occasional supporter) of the podcast, but as an evolutionary biologist, I have to say that the middle section on the whole nature-nurture debate was pretty shockingly uninformed and full of straw men. It kind of makes me wonder about the validity of the commentary on issues I'm less well-versed in - I don't want to be a victim of Gell-Mann amnesia!
I really like these, but your discussion about genetics and IQ is quite daft, almost like the speakers have entirely conflated 'IQ' with 'Life Outcomes' - social class, economics, etc will have a massive impact on someone's prospects and outcomes (as in, if you drop two identical people in different places, one in a highly developed economy and one in rural sub saharan africa their lives will be extremely different) but will have a minimal (There are certainly some ideas about nutrition and similar playing a role that I can't prove or disprove) on the underlying IQ of the individual. If genetics can have massive effects on health and physical ability, the idea that they have no effect on mental ability seems preposterous.
Personally I had never heard of the woman. YOU FORGET SHE NEARLY KILLED HER BOYFRIENDWHILE HE SLEPT. SHE AIN'T NO CELEBRITY. STRIKES ME SHE WAS A BIT NARCISSISTIC. YOU WANT THE FAME YOU PLAY THE GAME, WARTS AND ALL.
Certainly there is a case against automatically believe the victim but you cannot prevent people speculating on a situation. What we seem to have going here on is a culture of believe the victim unless the accused is a female, particularly a popular celebrity, all this emotion and outrage would not have happened if the genders were reversed. If you are going to suggest that accused should be protected from examination by the press and public on the grounds of innocent until proven guilty then the same standards should be applied to the likes of Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein but I doubt you will hear these commentators leaping to their defence. And if you feel it is wrong to speculate publicly then why is she here giving her own opinion that Flack did nothing beyond your everyday tiff and shouldn’t have been charged, if its ok to say you think she is innocent then its ok to say you think she is guilty. Multi layered standards going on all round depending on the popularity of the individual I think.
Re: award show rapper Ash Sarkar is out running her grand canyon yap about Brendan O'Neill and spiked. Part of me wants to set off a nuclear bomb in her comment section..........but I can't bring myself to talk that way to a woman. Besides I can only imagine the kind of abuse she absorbs online (and offline) with the way she behaves herself. Me pilling on is completely redundant. I do want to say this quickly in the spiked comment section however because the attitude at novara and with Ash really pisses me off (and considering the UK election result I'm far from alone). Apparently because of hip hop artist's CAPITALISTIC addidas endorsements and overall material success Brendan and the rest of the UK working class are simply not good enough to question “stormzy” or whoever ( and this from a LITERAL COMMUNIST no less). And since it is OK for Ash to grade people on importance based on career/material success (and in the case of rappers that success is extremely short term and fickle) I wonder how often Brendan cries into his pillow based on criticism from somebody like Ash Sarkar who was so completely discredited by the last election? While Brendan O'Niell, Paul Embery and blue labour were completely vindicated by the election results. Ya I bet Brendon is crying his eyes out right now by Ash Sarkar's discredited “opinions” Ash is running her mouth like her side won the last election..............ZERO self awareness. At a certain point it becomes comedy with that woman.
I have no ill-will toward Caroline but at the same time, I have zero sympathy for her. Perhaps she was a great person, i'll never know, most likely she was a narcissistic, vacuous aging celebrity that relied mostly on her looks for her success. Perhaps she was angry that the younger men she was dating were using her to get connections to further their careers and her ego couldn't handle it. Who knows...
It is bizarre. We've had floods across the country, a global pandemic with literal medicine shortages being predicted, and yet the Carloline Flack news story has probably had more news time.
Re: Dave. You only get anti-establishment points when you are actually taking an anti-establishment stance. From where I'm sitting the likes of this kid and his woke celeb friends are actually more establishment than Boris Johnson right now. Which is hilarious. I only know a few of the things he said but I reckon I could tell you his 'political stance' on everything just from knowing them. Altho.... not sure how he'd be on trans 😆
I had never heard of her until I read about her death. As long as people in the UK buy and read tabloids and watch trash TV there will be a demand for a celebrity circus.
IQ, they are not ODD ideas so much as dangerous ideas. And of course you carefully made the comparison absolute so you could dismiss the data with a clear conscience. Of course I am sure you are aware that what we are talking about are averages which also say that Asians and Jews score higher than Europeans. Avoiding the truth does not make it go away. It is clear that you adhere to the environmental influences side of the debate and that is cowardly.
No virtue exists in the realm of the narcissist and one cannot fail to observe that our shallow culture has produced enough evidence to qualify this axiom. Ne Timeas.
Does EVIDENTIAL proof of an act of S&M, one consenting adult upon another, ALWAYS LEAD to a prosecution ! NO, it does NOT ! Even if the alleged offending party pleads innocence [as in Flacks case] and the alleged victim claims non-consensual bodily harm [to save from ridicule] BUT later RETRACTS with S&M admission. Then the POTENTIAL charge would be one of false statement under custody, by the VICTIM ! Such charge could thereby be dropped, in view of such 'mitigating circumstance'. TRUE JUSTICE is not blind, it is FAIR ! THINK ON !
Caroline Flack complained about the picture of her bloody bed being released. Why is no one asking how that got into the media? Who took the photo? I presume a police photographer. Who had access to it? I'm sure the police are investogating themselves. CF would probably have been better off, had she spent less time on her own in recent weeks and more time with her parents. Was she reluctant to do this because there would have been a media scrum outside her parents' home? This is an issue that should be dealt with by the law. There is no judicial interest in having people besieged in their homes.
The charges were dropped by Lewis and it was the Police chose to charge her. The police can pursue a conviction if they think it will protect victims from further abuse....the Police act on behalf of the victims somewhat. The Police are accountable, no?
Whatever the truth is about IQ and race, I worry about people who even think this niche subject worth their time. There are a million lenses through which to look at ourselves.
I think the better reference would be the Dixie Chicks. It isn't like it was hard to find anti-bush artists in the mid 2000s but they took a genuine risk that they would alienate their fans with their politics. The disappointment with the Dave verse is that it is pitched so comfortably over home plate for his target demo, middle class white liberals via way of inner-city cred.
I am interested in Sibisky and you’re attack on him. The quote about IQ between white and black Americans is true and there is 100 years of evidence supporting it. Those attacking him over forced contraception until people are ready to have children happily support the alternative solution of indiscriminately killing innocent and helpless babies instead, so whose views are really the “abhorrent” views.
The idea that we are all born blank slates and our fate depends solely on external factors is a core belief of far-left ideology. The idea that we are all born with innate capacities from which our fate is determined is a core belief of far-right ideology. The truth, I suspect, is somewhere in between. Not sure why Spike's crew get in such a tizzy about it. They sounded rather confused.
I can understand disagreeing with Sabisky's statements/arguments/conclusions, yet the lack of credence that you gave to his thoughts on the matter merely made you guys look incredibly ignorant/arrogant.

"There was something far more messy and complicated going on that's pretty common among couples" - Spiked
How do you know this to be true when a trial has not taken place?
Clair Rollings The wait on any trial is going to be a very long one. Therefore it seems reasonable to use the information that appeared in the media and our knowledge of the human condition to learn what lessons we can.
@@valaudae1809 I totally accept that women are as much perpetrators of violence and acts of insanity which I think that this was quite obviously the result of I think that she needed sectioning at the scene for psychological evaluation. This would have served everyone. Unfortunately hindsight is impossible to act on in this case but maybe we can all learn that there are always consequences for our actions and reactions!
Clair Rollings Fair point👍🏻
"Most of us who are halfway sensible look at the information coming out of that case and come to to the conclusion she isn't a domestic abuser"
Wait...

It follows that something like IQ would express itself on a spectrum- you are predisposed into a band of intelligence from birth, and can develop to the very top of that band, or stay near the bottom of that band if you're more 'environmentally challenged' lol
This is why positive discrimination is shit. Someone who goes to a shit state school but who is just.... Well a bit thick tbh doesn't deserve to pick up oppression bonus points to help them into uni if this means that someone who is more intelligent who went to a private school loses out to them. I suppose you're relying on exam results accurately reflecting intelligence. ..... Which means we're all fucked lol

No. We would not. Unless they were black or gay.
"white" people as opposed to "black" people?
The Great Replacement
Can’t wait for the cops to knock on the door of the press to “check their thinking”.
This conversation was indicative of the fact that education and knowledge are no substitute for raw IQ.
I haven't got a clue who she was.
Is it sexist to accept that the differences between men and women are in some part biological? Why is it racist to point out there are differences between ethnic groups?

But < 1% impact on their intelligence at age 25.
i wonder if it had been a man if the media would have been so tearful of the death of a celeb !!
School is about giving you knowledge, skills and wisdom. Intelligence is your ability to pick these things up (well knowledge and skills, maybe not wisdom). Intelligence, like work ethic, is something you bring to the table. Teachers help you realise your potential more than they change your potential.
you might not like it but there are IQ differences unfortunately
Bintu Adam some people can run faster and jump higher, does that help ?
well the issue is there are differences in IQ between individuals. The group level abstraction is almost meaningless especially in the UK. table 4 shows in the UK blacks average IQ is 95 whites is 100 irish gypsies 89 indians 96 etc. www.unz.com/jthompson/uk-government-race-differences-in-achievement-must-be-explained/
THE ISSUE IS when people look at averages and use it inappropriately to discriminate between individuals instead of focusing on external qualifications and job performance then you are "unfairly" discriminating between "derserving" individuals.

Yeh, it's the 'everybody knows that!' argument.

This is the most disingenuous discussion I've ever heard on this channel.

Perhaps theres a true picture here?

I was thinking the same thing. Are these people full of it and I never noticed before because I usually agree with them?
We live in a blame cultural where we need someone to blame for our problems! Whatever happened to personal responsibility and strength of character?
_“Sub-Nietzschean rubbish,”_ on the 80% heritability of IQ. Supported by all the academic evidence. Daring take, Spiked! smh

Yeah, intelligence is a social construct and has no basis in genetics😒 Maybe do some research before talking about a topic on UA-cam.

Ya I bet Brendon is crying his eyes out right now by Ash Sarkar's discredited “opinions”

BTW, we still want a repsonse as to how you demonsied Katie Hopkins, taking into account your stance on FREE SPEECH
So... Genetics don't play a role in IQ? This podcast is laughable sometimes.
She was 'mental' anyway, she threatened to kill herself on the night of arrest , and was a self harmer, with wrist slash scars.

Not sure why Spike's crew get in such a tizzy about it. They sounded rather confused.
