This video was great, really gave me an understanding of the why behind the Genitive Plural, as opposed to just recognising and being able to correctly place or choose the word.
Wow, this really did my head in - I am going to have to watch this 1 or 2000 times to let it soak in. Thanks very much, Alfia - a really superb and useful lesson :)
Wow, I'm amazed by how I've seen many videos about the genitive case in plural and your video was the only one that made me understand it! Thank u so much! It's 4 AM while I'm watching this video and I have a big smile because I could finally understand it! It is for sure the hardest case!
Спасибо за видео. Я очень люблю русский язык. Я думаю, когда to use спасибо и when to use Благодарю вас. I have just started learning Russian. Please answer my query and thank you. The above written comment in Russian is written by me and not by using a translator. 😊
What I absolutely 💯 percent love about your videos, Alfia, is you speak much Russian! Too many videos speak mainly English in teaching Russian which is a major mistake and breaks us out of the habit we are trying to form psychically, mentally, а так далее. Your combination of the perfect amount of English and Russian combined gives perfect understanding! And you speak at such a pace that gives a challenge which works the brain to a PEAK of TRYING to achieve something in proper speed, which strengthens the learning muscles even more. Мне очень нравится! Also I found you two days ago after seven months of studying Russian and I finally got to the grammar point to complete Genitive Plurals and Instrumental plurals (the ones that were stumbling me for a bit). I'm finally understanding enough with just a few lessons of yours. :) Soon I shall be encorporating these new studies into my Russian journal with much ease. Спасибо!
Я говорю на 7 языках и сейчас учу русский и украинский. your explanation of genitive plural case is one of the clearest and most helpful explanations in all the years of learning these languages Огромное спасибо!
Thank you for the useful video❤️ Do you have a video about how to put times into the genitive? E.g. from 5 to 6☺️ And do you have any exercises to practise the genitive case nouns and adjectives in both singular and plural form?
Здравствуйте из Бразилии! Отлично! Вы супер! Спасибо за класс. Я мечтаю знать русский язык. One day I'll get there. I got a bit confused about the prepositions requiring the genitive case. There's the prepositional case which as far as I understand cause the endings to change, на примере, в офисе, на море, на полу, на машине, в комнате, на улице,.. anyways, the prepositional case is only followed by В И НА? Other prepositions shown in this video falls in the genitive case? Obrigado do Brasil. Você é ótima!
Привет! Спасибо огромное 🥰 As for your question. We use в, на in Prepositional case when answering the question "where at" - где. Ты где? - В офисе. And we use в, на in Accusative case with verbs of motion answering the question "where to" - куда. Куда ты едешь? - В офис. In Genitive we use из, с, от - from. Откуда ты едешь? - Из офиса. I believe, I explained that in one of my videos here ua-cam.com/video/VD6NALu8r3w/v-deo.html
@@Alfia dear Alfia, what I would find extremely helpful is, when numbers in the teachings are written and not in letters like this "40" but сорок so I could memorise it more easy which case is needed there etc. :).

And also I wanted to ask if деревьей in sentence 8 is really right, because I also found a source in the internet that said that genitive plural would be деревьев.
Genitive Plural is BY FAR the MOST ANNOYING PART of the Russian language Even when you take the time to study Russian cases, I believe any person can put in the work and have 90-95% accuracy with all of the cases, EXCEPT Genitive Plural Because it is so random and even sometimes completely changes the shape of the word. You can't just memorize an -AX -ЯХ ending, like with Prepositional for example. In Genitive you have -ЕЙ, or -ОВ, or ручек/денег/книг, etc Everytime I come across a Genitive Plural, all I can do is try to take a lucky guess (((
Right, right 😏 the thing is you have to be totally sure if the word is feminine or masculine. And even knowing that there can be 2-3 options. But nothing is impossible. You'll just have to spend more time drilling that. "Ов" works only for masculine. "Ручек, книг" ... and other zero endings are for feminine and neuter.
@@Alfia Interesting! I didn't know that -Ов was only masculine I think i will learn many of them just by being constantly corrected by my Russian friends xD
Привет. Ещё вопрос пожалуйста: Когда тв просишь, на пример, сколько планета? Или сколько планетов? Planets which you don’t know the number so it could be more than 4, also the quantitative “сколько». Does it make sense? Thanks and congratulations for your talent as a teacher. Спасибо. Пока
Если вы знаете, что слово исчисляемое (countable), после слова "сколько" используем Genitive plural: Сколько планет? Это женский род, поэтому нулевое окончание - zero ending.
It's impressive to hear your English english, rather than American english. So much nicer.

Здорово! Да, правда, в родительном падеже очень много деталей. Но когда вы его знаете, это очень-очень улучшает и понимание, и речь.

In the preposition examples you used two different plural forms for the word friends. "Дла моих подруг". А " до моих друзей". Почему?
Потому что подруги - это female friends, and друзья - это male friends.
