@@TomJaques56789 they do have some pretty great acoustic versions of songs, so who knows. We may get one someday. They still don’t have an acoustic version of The King (another Christmas song they do), though, so idk.

I agree with Johnny, WATG are such an underrated band. Great catalog of albums. Also, the clean vocalist/primary songwriter has said that Thrice is one one of his main inspirations and they have a killer cover of Deadbolt that you guys should check out!
The tone of scream and clean vocals are incredible and the ability to transition between them so well reminds me of Blindside

I'm not one who likes Christmas music, even when I did become a Christian I disliked the melodies and overall sound of Christmas music. WATG has changed that. This is the first Christmas song that I can listen to on repeat and even attempt to sing along to during worship. Great video, thank you guys!

I was ok with the old christmas songs but my favorite versions are from August Burns Red or Bayless.

WATG is amazing. While we’re talking about underrated Christian bands, check out Hope For The Dying. My favorite album of theirs is Dissimulation, but they’re all great. If you want a song with a combination of screaming and clean vocals, maybe check out their song Transcend.

Speaking of that album, I’m a bigger fan of Becoming The Archetype when Jason Wisdom was in the band, but O Holy Night on that album is still pretty great.

fun fact, the use of a manger as the place for Jesus' crib is symbolic. A manger is essentially an archaic word used to describe a trough of hay that livestock would feed from, freshadowing the purpose for which Jesus came to earth clothed in the flesh of a mortal man. a spotless lamb, led to the slaughter, as it were.

Year late but a manger is were cattle eat from. Jesus was born in a manger as Jospeh and Mary couldn't get a room in a hotel and so God led them to a manger where he was born. Lowborn refers to Jesus through this song.

Great song, great screams, great clean voice...trash lyrics. I spent 5-6 years in worship band (major Hillsong guy) and believe me, the amount of pandering done in Christian music is headache inducing. Don't get me wrong, Christians, I'm not talking about the lyrics being trash because they are 'worshiping God'; the lyrics are trash because they pander to the emotional Christian audience. If I were still a Christian, I would be worshiping God through my actions, not by singing about lambs or kings or other allegories. These types of songs always seem directed at people who need to feel emotional to 'worship' God. I never bought it, especially the ones who made a scene out of what they were doing during worship. Just felt like 'look everyone! look how much I'm worshiping'. Felt insincere and fake. Could be wrong, I'm a bit pessimistic. But still...
"Could be wrong, I'm a bit pessimistic." Honestly I do think you are, let me attempt to explain. First of all don't forget how the bible itself teaches Christians to worship God. However and even more importantly, ultimately nothing can save you, not your actions, not your worship, not your believe, literally nothing. That is the whole fricking point of Christianity. Christianity is about being saved through grace and mercy, through Him, God alone. Christians need to accept that fact, they cannot even do a single thing to save themselves (just read Galatians). This song and Christmas itself encapsulates this core principle of Christianity "See the mystery God become a man", Jesus needing to come to the earth to save our souls while we as humans keep rejecting him and trying to save ourselves by force and power "Chased and hunted down by kings that sought His crown".
I believe there are many ways to be a Christian, but the core principle stays the same (You can't save yourself). Christians are just happy to know that they are saved and love to sing about that, others are happy as well but will manifest their happiness in different ways like trying to be more like Him and help people through actions. Most will probably do (or attempt) both. But those actions and worship are not the things that will save them, and does not make them better than anyone else ("Romans 3:23 - for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God").
It's literally a Christmas song. What the heck is wrong with you? Have you heard any of their actual albums? They have some of the best lyrics of any metal core band, out there.
You were never a Christian if these lyrics somehow trigger you. You want them to be like everyone else who keeps the message ambiguous? It's so rare to find bands that openly sing about their faith even in within the Christian circle

I’m talking about people putting on a facade of worship rather than actual worship. Singing louder than others, melodizing when it’s not called for, dancing up and down the isles when no one else is, etc. It all comes across as fake and ‘look at me’.
