Most people I know with a switch is a Lite. Seriously. Most teenagers and casuals own only a switch lite. So detail will not matter to them. Just saying.
X on Wii U ran at a dynamic resolution of 720p that could drop down to as low as 619p. They could be using their upscaling techniques they used in 3 to hit a higher resolution. Or due to engine improvements and a bit of extra oomph in the Switch’s hardware, they’re running it at a native 1080p. Doesn’t really matter to me how they reached that resolution as it’s still an improvement nonetheless lol.
Yeah, improved character models aside the resolution is already loads better which to me was the biggest problem with X and especially the original xenoblade chronicles. Seriously sometimes it was hard to even see what was going on with how blurry everything and everyone looked. While X wasn't as bad in the resolution department, it was still a shame to see the environment suffer so much. If nothing else, I'm not fussed about any frame rate boosts for the "switch 2" and just want cleaner resolution for games like xenoblade.
i will probably play it myself, im curious if i will like it. (i will certainly like it more than a friend of mine, but thats because that friend prefer linear stories, and i have heard X is more about the exploration element, finding stuff about the planet etc.)
yes, in the Wii U version, all the characters had such doll faces with their overly large eyes and snub noses, all the facial features were too childish. but I think with the redesign of the characters in the DE of the first game and with the character design of the third game, Monolith has found its style and it's nice that this is also used in the DE of X.
That end line from Elma still hits hard. Mira is such a weird planet and I love it. I'd love for the extra story or even a sequel to delve deeper into what this planet actually is because it sure as hell ain't normal.
I’m not a fan of Elma’s new face, I agree the og faces were bad but it’s mainly that the designs were poorly translated to the more realistic style of x and needed to be stylized more which is what they’ve gone for but they used a completely different character designer. It drastically changes how elma feels as a character her face proportions, skin tone and eye shape and colour are way off like their priority was to make her more cute where as to me she always had a more strong, mature leader type vibe. Xc2 was a big style jump but she somehow still felt like the same character so idk why they couldnt manage here
Ive been playing Xenoblade X for years. The Gamepad made it possible to look at expansive map and the items. I've been noticing the price come down recently for Wii U version. But I only paid 50 and it's still mint.. The switch version will be played by many on a switch lite. Small screen. No details better than Wii U.
Less aliasing could also point to a higher resolution over all, at least a higher internal resolution. Meaning even if the WiiU Version ran at a 720p output, the internal resolution could have been lower. Would be neat if Digital Foundry would pick this one up starting pixel peeping but I guess they'll wait for the full release for that.
Let someone borrow mine and never got it back 😔 I still have my original Wii U though. Having this game was great at the time. I had no Xbox or ps4 so we were starving for something like this.. big open world, more mature tone. I would play for hours and hours at a time.
the Switch isn't just a little bit more powerful. The difference is significantly better. It has double the Ram, Tegra X1 is a much more modern and capable processor.
It's not powerful at all, lets not kid Ourselves lol. It was Great for where Nintendo were , and proof that Concept/design is King. But it's not anywhere near capable enough. Yes, XCX looks nice and the feat is good but it's a 10 year old game.

Nintendo is NOT going to do cross gen games. I am tired of people saying that this game and that game will have two version. NO THE WILL NOT. Nintendo doesn't like doing cross gen.
@ItApproaches they literally did Breath of the Wild, WHICH WAS CROSS GEN. Between WiiU and Switch. Get your facts straight. Hell, even Twilight Princess was cross gen for GameCube and Wii.
For a game like this that comes out the year that Nintendo releases their next gen console, it’d be silly if they didn’t make a Switch 2 enhanced port/update.

I get tired of people saying Switch is stronger then Wii U, that's not true, the handheld side holds the Switch back The Wii U didn't struggle running games, it was a dedicated home console and had numerous games at 1080p 60fps. There was nothing problematic like Pokemon Scarlet/Violet on Wii U. I also booted up my Wii U, I was blasted by nostalgia with the Wara Wara plaza music and was like man...that was so charming...I looked at my Switch and was like what's wrong with you Switch? You're so bland and boring. As the UA-camr Rule of Two brought up, there are some problems with the XCX Definitive Edition, it's not really a definitive edition....the lighting is....worse, or atmosphere perhaps? The game was built around the Gamepad, and without the Gamepad the Switch version is going to lose major parts of it.
You're spouting nonsense. How about you do some research on hardware and get back to me. But the chips in the switch are stronger than the wiiu, plus it has more RAM. The Wiiu maxed games out at 720p, while the switch maxes games out at 1080p. You're delusional
@@Elegies22 You can't be that low IQ.....I didn't say Scarlet and Violet were on Wii U...I was giving an example of one of the worst running games on Switch where Wii U had none. I could also bring in Bayo 2 on Wii U ran FAR better then Bayo 3 on Switch. Don't be a dumb MFer.

But, here We are staring at the 0.5 Teraflops tablet - and this _Up-resed_ game on it. It's clear Monolith aren't simply about to go away in Fact , Legacy has all the fleeting and mysterious build up that XCX did. It's all there for them to take now!
The wii u is far stronger than both ps3 and 360 and less powerful than switch by a couple of miles
*See's Motion Blur effects*

@@MrMonklad every xenoblade on switch is like that
@@kira516 I don't think the original had that though
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 it does surprisingly
the game is a massive fetch quest , so boring and the graphics? they are outdated as hell, its shit compared to elden ring, wukong, , wo long and any other game of this generecion, hell even Dynasty warriors 9 looks better and that game looks like old crap
This shit is from 2015 ON the fucking wii u which had shit graphics anyway but this game manage to be 3x bigger maps than the witcher 3 and 1080p resolution stable frame drop with only 1 loading screen in 1 single area once again, ON THE WII U

Also we are getting the CENSORED version with this definitive edition...which sucks.

All I know is that we cannot state an opinion as fact so firmly. Monolift said they will never put X on the switch and here it is. People said Skyward Sword will never leave the Wii, here it is. People emphatically denied that the Switch was a hybrid when the leaks came out, well we know how it turned out. Let us expereince things as they come. Time will give prove you right, or wrong (y).
@@Elegies22 Sigh....stupid humans....I wish we had the guillotine still...people like you who have no damn understanding need to lose your heads....I said Nintendo DOESN'T LIKE DOING CROSS GEN. They have done it TWICE in their ENTIRE HISTORY.
I have broken this down so many times, but no matter how many times I do another brain dead freak of brain rot pops up....
I know BOTW/TP were done, however there were VERY SPECIFIC REASONS FOR THAT. And NONE of those reasons are around right now. Both times the original system FAILED, Switch did NOT, Zelda is a big system seller and they didn't want to waste all their dev time on a failure so they gave the games a second chance on the next system. TP got cross gen cause the Wii had a totally different controller aka motion controls, and as most of the world is right handed they had to swap the sword to Link's right hand in the Wii version and mirror the entire game world. That's why it got a cross gen version, it literally couldn't just be ported or be backwards compatible. Where as with BOTW, again Wii U FAILED where Switch has NOT, Switch was NOT backwards compatible with Wii U since they went to cartridges. Meaning a cross gen version had to once again be done. LASTLY both times the games ran the same on both systems. They weren't "improved" versions on the second system outside of BOTW loading a bit faster on Switch. No sit down kid and don't talk to someone who's far smarter the you out of arrogance again.

Making Elma's hair from the front simply be static is a poor choice. It makes no sense, clipping has never really bothered me, unless it's like a weapon on your back going through a cape or something.
Are you going to bitch about everything? Just don't even buy the game then if little changes are going to trigger you

Disagree, changing Elma's face looks worse. Her original face looking the way it did, made sense for the (spoiler reason) of who she really is. Changing her face to look more normal ruins that.
@@ItApproaches Although I agree with you a counter argument could be that we as our character didn’t notice *spoiler* and looking more “real” would help that plot point.

@@ItApproaches take your own advice. The spoiler about Elma is real. Your head canon reason her face looking the way it does in the OG playing into her spoiler is invalid. Her new face model falls in line with her original drawn key art. You can stop now.
Scarlet and Violet weren't on wiiu. You're rage bait to a T
Switch is objectively more powerful than Wii U. Not by a lot but it absolutely is.
@@pugetsoundwaves In order for that statement to be true, that points to ONE conclusion....the devs on Switch intentionally chose to release worse running games that are not optimized then when they released games on Wii U.
