If Moss would of been as dedicated as Jerry was then he might have ended up being the greatest but Rice was just so competitive he was the Michael Jordan of wide receivers.
People who defend Moss are so quick to shit on Dante Culpepper. Culpepper's best season was 2004, where he had a 110 qb rating. You know what, Randy Moss was injured a lot that year and only caught a little more than 700 yards. He was a great QB. Culpepper's decline had to do with a massive knee injury, not losing Moss. Meanwhile Jerrys best season he had Elvis Grbac throwing more passes to him than Steve Young. Jerry made every QB look great.
With QBs I ask myself, "Would they thrive anywhere else?" Brady needs a good team around him. Rodgers would be a beast wherever. I don't even count rings. Those are team accomplishments. Who can make every throw, improvise, scramble, stare a rush down? Manning, Elway, Marino...so many QB studs many of whom didn't have the supporting cast but had plenty of individual talent.
At the same time, you really can't discount clutch performance and intangibles when it comes to QB's either and that's where QB's like Montana and Brady really shine
Physical attributes mean nothing if you lack the desire. The fact that he talked about down years is a testament to how good Jerry was.1200 at 40 is pretty impressive.
Randy Moss is probably the most gifted WRs ever. Jerry Rice is the GOAT WR to ever play the position; greatest work ethic, greatest competitor, etc. he was the Michael Jordan of the position. Jerry Rice was not as fast as Moss but just as fast with the ball in the air or the ball in his hands. We will never see another Jerry Rice. We will see players just like Randy Moss!
Fug Babylon lol where anywhere has it been documented Moss ran a 4.12? You know the fastest documented 40 yard dash was Chris Johnson which was a 4.32 forth yard dash. I know there’s probably some urban legend Moss ran an incredible 40 yard dash but 4.12? Come on Bruh check documented facts. Moss was great but how many times did you see Moss go over the middle? Rice was a complete WR; he blocked downfield, went over the middle, helped win Super Bowls, etc There is no comparison and any knowledgeable fan would understand that. Vernon Davis was 6’3, 260lbs, and ran a 40 in 4.4. All documented but it didn’t translate into greatness! Only 2 seasons of greatness. Moss was great for 4-5 years. Rice was great for an entire career. For Moss to even have to bring up how great he was should have the average fan doubt his greatness, Bruh !
Xavier Vega Your absolutely right; Moss played below his ability. Rice had the greatest speed from 10 yards to 50 yards I ever saw. He had exceptional football speed. Rice was the greatest WR, L.Taylor greatest Defensive Player, Joe Montana Greatest QB, Tom Brady greatest football player ever, period.
That goes both ways though. I do believe Jerry Rice is way better than Moss.they did change a lot of rules to favor the wide receiver they also changed a lot of the rules to go against the wide receiver. So yeah it goes both ways
Anybody who says randy moss was a better wide receiver than Jerry Rice just doesn't know how dominant Jerry Rice was and for how long. He's the only wide receiver in history to have been legitimately considered for MVP. He honestly should have won it in 1987 when he caught 22 TDs in 12 games
Tell em Mike! These fools talking about Moss is better than Rice need to be taught a lesson. I will add that Rice had 14 1,000 yard seasons! Let me repeat 14 1,000 yard seasons! No receiver has even came close to that including Moss. Moss only had 10. Additionally Rice had a better catch/ dropped pass percentage. Lastly in his best season Rice had over 1,800 yards. Moss only had 1,600. This debate is not even close. Men lie, women lie, but the numbers dont'. And lets not even talk about the superbowl rings. Man Ray Charles can see and Stevie doesn't have to wonder that Rice trumps Moss everyday of the week and twice on Sundays!

Until brees wins 4 super bowls and win 2 of them back to back without throwing an interception then ill consider having a conversation with you about that. And moss sucks ass. Dont compare a myth to a legend. Moss is a wannabe.
@I’m wrong but i look at it like this. Brees can can break every single passing record he wants. Im surprised he hasnt broken it yet with how water down football is today. But the fact is he will never be the G.O.A.T. of qb's. You wouldnt be able to use brees name next to joe montana. It would never happen. So like i said if and when drew brees leads his team 4 times to the Superbowl then we can have a conversation about this.
Jerry Rice is the best. He was consistent over a 20 year career. He wasn't the most talented or the most athletic. You are hard pressed to find a spectacular acrobatic catch by Rice but what you will find is consistent route running and the ability to get open and make the catch when his team needed it. He was a machine and the master of his craft.
Randy Moss made Randall Cunningham and Donte Culpepper look like pro bowlers.... As great as Rice was, he played in a perfect system for his skill set. Not to mention he played for two HOF QBs in Montana and Rice, and another MVP in Rich Gannon.
Moss lined up with Chris Carter and Gronk. He had Duante Culpeper in his pre injury MVP level prime . Randall Cunningham during his Comeback year. Tom Brady ...plus DB's could throw WR's around like ragdolls in Rice's era. Rice went to Oakland in his mid 30's and became the No. 1 reciever while Tim Brown was still in his prime . Made two pro bowls while he was there. When Moss entered his MID 30's he was no longer a pro bowler nor a No.1 . No contest....RICE No 1.
Plus ...the " system " Rice played in was a standard offensive system that is still used by Tom Brady , Rodgers , Brees and Big Ben. If anything , Moss played in a more evolved version of the West Coast offense + enjoyed rule changes that benefitted the passing game .
@@cali4niasf well, Moss played 4 games with Gronk in his rookie year. Cunningham only had his "comeback" year because of Moss. Don't even get me started on Culpepper, that's laughable. T.O. believes the same about himself. Old news. All very talented, but Rice was much more disciplined about staying in shape, practicing hard. He was a mad man about his business, totally focused. Rice was no fluke.
Ha! 2019? late November 2020. Anyways, if you believe that the greatest wide receiver is second on receiving touchdowns and third in receiving yards, you are as wrong as 2020.
Randy would have been the best ever or could have been if he did not half ass it or take games off as he said he did...... The best ever never does that, he is no Rice because of work Ethic and attitude etc., he had so much potential and had a great career but could have been much more..........

I love Randy but this is not even a debate. Sure, Randy was a FREAK and probably Top 2-3, but just compare the playoff numbers. NO ONE in the history of the NFL was more clutch in big games than Jerry Rice. His Super Bowl numbers are untouchable.
Jerry Rice played with Joe Montana & Steve Young. With Multiple HOF players on the defensive end. Jerry can’t bring Super Bowls into this without bringing up all the HOF who won Super Bowls for him.
That doesn’t matter. He can’t change the quarterback just to put some Nathan petterman bum in. You can’t say that. Bruh you just have to go off stats and how they impacted the game, not their teammates. If you want to go off QB’s, Ramey played with Randall Cunningham as well as Tom Brady and gronk. Stop trying
The NFL itself voted Jerry Rice the greatest foobtall player to ever play the game. I could go on but it'd be a waste of my fuckin' time. This discussion is absurd on its face.
Moss was great and more explosive but he admitted he took plays off and was washed in his early 30s. Rice was the complete receiver could do it all and was still putting up 1,000 yard seasons at 40. Rice was 100% dedicated to the game, Moss was not.
Anybody who ever watched Randy in his prime knows who the goat is. The years he had a HOF QB he blew up the record books. Replace Culpeper with Montana and moss gets a handfull of rings too
Daniel Hardman From 2000 to 2004 Moss helped make Daunte Culpepper an All Pro. After Moss’s departure, Culpepper struggled to stay a starter in the NFL, ultimately playing five more years for four different teams, with a combined record of 5-22.
Jay Stein Because Daunte wrecked his knee in 2005 and was never the same again. Moss fanboys always conveniently leave that fact out. Plus it's laughable you want to give Montana the credit for Rice's record when fucking TOM BRADY was throwing to Moss when he broke the record in 2007.....and it STILL took Moss 4 more games.
@@xaviervega468 Rice butt buddies always forget that rookie Randy Moss broke the single season scoring record in 1998 with a near 40 year old quarterback who wasn't even in the NFL prior to that season!! Randle Cunningham retired in 1996 and was working for a granite buisiness when coach Dennis Green called him up lolol!!! Due to Moss's dominance, Cunningham made the Pro Bowl that year lolol!!! 😆 😆
It´s not just about numbers. Rice played 4 SBs, won 3, scored eight touchdowns in those games and was mvp in one. Rice is in the debate about who is the greatest PLAYER of all time. When the conversation is about greatest receiver, well, there´s no conversation at all. Stickum? Moss played with better gloves than that and stickum don t make you run better routes or beat guys like Deion. Played for more seasons? Well, play for bigger time e still be a great player is a merit.
That's why I no longer have discussions about the best players in team sports. I wanted to play wide receiver my whole life because of Jerry Rice, when I got to high school nobody could throw me the ball. Even when you have a quarterback who can throw the ball he needs protection so you have to have a receiver who can run the route and have good hands, you have to have a quarterback who can throw the ball to the receiver, then you have to have an offensive line that can give the quarterback the time and protection to do that. Thats why Tom Brady has been so successful. Randy Moss is a better wide receiver then Jerry Rice because he could do everything Jerry Rice could do but Jerry Rice couldn't do everything Randy Moss could do. Unfortunately as you put it Jerry had great quarterbacks and Jerry also didn't share his catches with another great receiver like Chris Carter 🤷🏾♂️.
Ohhhh boyyyy I got some new ammo for you Jerry Rice haters “Jerry only benefitted by having 2 HOF QBs beside him” *Receiving Yards Per Game* Jerry Rice with Elvis Grbac: 96.9 Randy Moss with Tom Brady: 87.1 Jerry Rice was a wildly productive GOAT receiver with or without HOF QBs.
Moss says that then they brake out the stat comparison, haha! It’s a insult personally to Jerry Rice because he worked hard everyday off the field. Moss never matched his worth ethic.
A better debate is Randy Moss vs Terrell Owens. Two players with similar body of works, career stats, and even personalities. Both teamhopped a lot, both are ringless, both of their careers nearly overlapped. Now this is a real debate that requires actual thought. Because they’re both legends but so similar.
*Receiving Yards Per Game* 96.9 Jerry Rice with Elvis Grbac 95.5 Julio Jones 87.1 Randy Moss with Tom Brady 86.1 Calvin Johnson But yeah he only looks “good” because of 2 HOFs QBs
If Moss had the character, drive and work ethic of Rice there would not be a discussion, it would be obvious. Rice is the best WR to ever play the game and top 5 player of all time because of his character, drive and work ethic, not because he's taller, faster, jumps higher than anyone else, a true master of his craft. Not to mention off the field Rice is and always was a true role model, Rice affected an entire generation or more in such a positive way unimaginable to Moss. Jerry Rice in his 40s was catching TDs in the super bowl while Moss in his 30s still had the entitlement of a 19 year old. Hard works beats talent if talent doesn't work hard. Moss achieved everything he did because he was blessed with once in a generation talent, Rice achieved everything he did because he EARNED it.
If you watched Jerry Rice play, you KNOW he was the best ever. No disrespect to Moss' talents and accomplishments. It's just not even close how much better Rice was. I don't even think Moss is the 2nd best ever. Top 5... maybe.
He played with Montana Young and Gannon. 3 NFL MVP QBs 2 being HOFers 1 being possibly the best ever. Larry Fitzgerald is far and away the most talented wide receiver to ever step on a football field playing with guys like John Skelton and Drew Stanton
@@FTW54 What did Rich Gannon do when he didn't have 2 Hall of Fame wide receivers? And your point on Fitz is fair but there is more to the position than physical attributes. If talent equaled success, Desmond Howard would be in the Hall of fame. That is just not how it works.
I remember watching a segment back in the day where the other teams KNEW the Vikings were running the ball, because Randy would just leave the huddle and his "body psychology" basically told them.. that he wasn't involved in the play... so they knew it was a run.. because he could care less about run blocking.
Jerry Rice had Joe Montana and Steve Young for almost his entire career. Randy Moss had: Brad Johnson, Randall Cunningham, Jeff George, Daunte Culpepper, Todd Bouman, Gus Frerotte, Kerry Collins, Andrew Walter, Tom Brady, Matt Cassel, Brett Favre, Alex Smith, Colin Krapernick, Vince Young, Aaron Brooks, Spergon Wynn, Rusty Smith, Marques Tuiasosopo, Brian Hoyer and Jay Fiedler Moss would have destroyed Rice's numbers if he had Montana and Young for his whole career

I really can't fault anyone for going with Moss but 3 Rings for Rice, the longevity and the multiple records get him the title GOAT. If this were a video game, maybe Moss is better, but in real life, no way. You can’t quit on your team like Moss did with the Raiders, and call yourself the best ever.
Ah, it's nice to see an educated football fan in this chat.
Culpepper was very good for awhile.
Moss is the most talented I've ever seen, Rice by far had the greatest career ever. This analogy also applies to Rodgers vs Brady in my opinion.
Jason Settle Great example!
This is a fair statement.
Or Brees vs Brady.
Jerry Rice was still going to the pro bowl when he was 40. He caught 22 touchdowns in a 12 game season.
BEST EVER, period.
He wouldnt do that in today's game.
@@chriswilson1968 you are right. Numbers would be higher. Game is way more passing friendly now.

Jerry Rice is literally the greatest FOOTBALL player ever not named Tom Brady.
Nah it’s Lawrence Taylor
Deion Sanders is
Between 1981 and 1994 there were two types of people in the NFL, Lawerence Taylor, and people Lawrence Taylor allowed to exist.
He’s the greatest ever not including QB’s. He’s top 5 all time including everyone.

You actually believe your going to see a 6'4 WR running a 4.12 = 40 yd dash?
*AGAIN* cmon brah what you smokin?
Fug Babylon lol where anywhere has it been documented Moss ran a 4.12? You know the fastest documented 40 yard dash was Chris Johnson which was a 4.32 forth yard dash. I know there’s probably some urban legend Moss ran an incredible 40 yard dash but 4.12? Come on Bruh check documented facts. Moss was great but how many times did you see Moss go over the middle? Rice was a complete WR; he blocked downfield, went over the middle, helped win Super Bowls, etc
There is no comparison and any knowledgeable fan would understand that.

Rice was a man of focus, commitment, and sheer f**king will. Something Moss knew very little about.
Very little ? Moss knew absolutely nothing about that !
Also Jerry Rice holds multiple NFL Records... Rice played in the 1980s and 1990s when the game was more aggressive....💯💯💯💯
Jerry Rice was also one of the best run blocking WRs ever.
The majority of people, especially those who matter or played the game, know that Jerry Rice is the greatest WR to ever play.

Jerry Rice is a savage. “You’re still trying to get your first Super Bowl”.
Jerry also played with 2 Hall of Fame Quarterbacks for like 15 years tho

Randy moss impacted the game just as much as Jerry Rice... the cover 3 defense was created for Randy Moss.. an entire defensive philosophy was created for him....
Eros Adonis nice facts,
I never knew fhat
+Patrick #PrimeTimeJr Peterson#P2Nation that
Eros Adonis Hold up.... are you really trying to say that moss was better than rice...Come on man stop it..y'all got to stop this shit...
moss would take off plays and didn't block like rice did..rice is the yac king are you serious..I like moss but he's not even close...
Smooth Criminal I'm not saying moss is better than rice.. I agree, rice is the pinnacle... but moss is in that conversation, he had just as much impact as Jerry Rice...
Jerry Rice is the best ever!
Chris Carter explained it best... And Chris is one of the best also
Well in Moss’ defense he didn’t have Montana or Young but Rice is and will always be-theeeee Best
He had Brady...
6 more seasons plus spent most of his carrer with hof qbs
Only 5 more years. This is an old video that was made while Moss was still playing. Also Rice missed a year due to injury. Plus Moss couldnt play well enough to play more years
+SUPERSPORTS 5 more years is still alot theb you said rice missed a year ok still who had the better quarterbacks? who had the better team period? would you take daunte Culpeper over joe montana or Steve young to spend the 1st 80% of ya career with
Rarjahn Jenkins
Rice didnt spend 80% of his career with Young and Montana . It is more like 60% He still went to the Raiders at 40 years old and wen to the Pro bowl and took the raiders to the Super Bowl. Plus Moss Had Cunningham Culpepper who were both pro bowlers and Cunningham was the MVP twice Bret Favre and of course Tom Brady. So it is not liek he had a bunch of scrubs throwing him the ball
SUPERSPORTS jus now seeing this but OK let's do the math wen moss played with Cunningham (only for two seasons BTW) Cunningham was already a past prime quarterback with about 11 years in then with cullpepper yes he was good but wasn't no Joe Montana or Steve young and a lot of there game plan was to throw it up to randy and let him make a play then he went to Oakland and played with Kerry Collins then to new england and had 3 seasons with Brady he played 4 with them but in think he got hurt or something cause I know e didt play all game's of the 4th year then with Tennessee then back to the vikings then sf
SUPERSPORTS jerry rice played with Montana then Steve young then rich Gannon big difference plus rice was using sticky spray
Im here after hearing Moss say that Jerry Rice is #3, or 4 on his ALL-TIME list.. LOL!!
Always will be Rice its painfully obvuous and never quit on his team.
Rice was too competitive. Give me someone with a better work ethic and I'll tip my hat... you're the greatest Jerry. FLASH #80
Joe Marron Rice did have Young, Montana and Rich Gannon...Moss did what he did wit OK QBs
Totally agree
Moss had a one dementional game GOING DEEP. RICE COULD CATCH A 5 YARD PASS ONCE A WEEK AND TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE. HIS ROUTES WERE BETTER THEN ANYONE ! AND NO ONE WILL EVER QUESTION THE MANS WORK ETHIC. EASILY GREATEST RECEIVER ALL TIME, AND PROBABLY GREATEST FOOTBALL PLAYER EVER PERIOD!!!!!!!!!
A-M-E-N!!! ;-)
are you fucking high on meth? Moss is the most, the most explosive he could take it from a screen a slant anything and take it to the house. wayyyyyyyy more of an impact on the game, and I'm a TO fan personally.
1. Moss 2. TO 3. Rice
1. You're most likely young and never saw rice in his prime, moss could not even get near what rice did on a weekly basis. Or a crack head that grew up a vikings fan
Please tell these fools!!! Moss isn't even fit to wash Rice's dirty jock.
Chris D Moss had a chance to spout his BS claim directly to Joe Montana; but you saw he wasn't brave nor stupid enough to make that "I'm a better WR then Rice" to Joe!! LOL
Just ask Deion, he had to cover both of them in separate games, ask him which was harder to cover, he would most likely say Rice
Deion said Moss was the GOAT
@@vikingjedi573 Deion never said that, stop lying. What he DID say what that Rice was the only WR that kept him up at night before the game.
@@xaviervega468 Yes he did ua-cam.com/video/vsYohH_fLqo/v-deo.html
@@vikingjedi573 LOL that's your evidence??? He was talking about FISHING. Moss has a reputation as an excellent fisherman. Show me ANY TIME Deion Sanders went on TV and declared Moss the GOAT receiver. You can't because it isn't there.
@@xaviervega468 just watch the video. Deion point blank calls Moss the GOAT. Case closed.
Moss' voices always cracks me up.
JERRY RICE , RANDY MOSS , TERRELL OWENS .
ALL WORE RED & GOLD BABY
Rice Fitzgerald Megatron Carter Moss. Jerry was getting 1000 yards when he was 40 it ain’t close. 22 touchdowns in 12 game strike season
I repeat - 22 TDs in 12 games !!!!! ..nuff said.
I totally agree too many Madden players in the chat.
Randy only beat that record by 1 td and that was in 16 games. Hands down Jerry was the best there was and ever will be. Most likely. He was a freak of nature 40 years before his time.
This "Rice did better cause of Montana and Young" argument is BULLSHIT
when did RIce have a complementary receiver like Chris Carter to stop defenses from triple covering him like Moss did in Minnesota?
Rice had 14 1000+ yard seasons
Moss had 10
Rice had 4 100+ catch seasons
Moss had 2
Rice was a 13-time pro bowler and 10-time all pro
Moss was a 6- time pro bowler and 4-time all pro
Also wanna point out that Rice had a 92 catch, 1211 receicing yard 9 touchdown game AT 40 YEARS OLD WITH RICH GANNON AS HIS QB, NOT JOE MONTANA OR STEVE YOUNG.
One more thing
Career Record for Receptions (season): Jerry RIce
Career Record for Receiving yards (season): Jerry Rice
Career Record for Receiving touchdowns (season): Jerry Rice
Career Record for Receptions (playoffs): Jerry Rice
Career Record for Receiving Yards (Playoffs): Jerry RIce
Career Record for Receiving TOuchdowns (Playoffs): Jerry Rice
This argument is over. Rice > Moss and it's not even close. Moss is a top 3 all time WR tho.
BLOOD RED BLAZE moss was triple covered and still caught touchdowns LMAO
Kelvin Morris rice is the GOAT until someone passes his records he will continue to be the GOAT
Arion Black he's the best to ever wear stickem gloves
People acting like Rice only put up those numbers because he played 20 years. He only played 20 because of what made him great, his work ethic and attitude towards perfection. Moss may have been physically more gifted, but Rice is the GOAT.
Moss did more with less. He made Gus Frerotte and Jeff George look good.
He also played with Randall Cunningham and Tom Brady....
@Nightstalker_55 Moss played with 2 HoF QBs one of which is top 2 of all time
And Culpepper and Cunningham
@Nightstalker_55 Moss had the GOAT QB of all-time in the Super Bowl and still underperformed.
@Nightstalker_55 Yeah but Brady has 6 rings without Moss and none with him.
Rice is pretty much the Michael Jordan of wife recievers, He has no blemishes on his record, His stats & Perfect Super Bowl record automatically make him the 🐐
Giio TM Rice took an L super bowl 37
Rice took an L in 2002 vs. Tampa Bay when he was playing for the Raiders.
Giio TM Rice took an L to Tampa
Giio TM "wife" recievers? funniest comment all day
Giio TM kareem has better stats than mj
No question -- Jerry Rice was the greatest wide receiver of all time.
Stickum, not natural, Randy didn't cheat
@@strictlybusiness1679 Jerry only used stickum the first 2-3 years Jerry>moss bum ass
@@ymgloveblue9618 only 😂😂 you didn’t know he used it before he said now you just believed it was 3 yrs 😂😂😂 you the bum sir ... T.O the goat
Give moss a HOF qb for at least 8 years, 20 years worth of stickum, and team stability… debate over… #Mossgoat
Don't talk about what if's talk about what IS ...... Jerry is the Goat
What ifs??
Moss was a incredible receiver with skills Rice was also but Rice was a more determined receiver than Moss .Terrell Owens was a faster stronger Rice but his hands not like Rice.
Is it coincidence that this is recommended on Jerry Rice’s Birthday? Makes you think...
Had Randy played with Tom Brady for 10+ years we may be agreeing with Moss. To be fair, Jerry did have Montana & Young throwing him the ball for 14 of his 20 years. 3 seasons with Brady got Moss 47 TDs and 3700 yds from age 30 to 32. I really can't fault anyone for going with Moss but 3 Rings for Rice, the longevity and the multiple records get him the title GOAT.
Edit : correction 2008 Brady got hurt so 11 of those 47 TDs and 1008 yds were from Matt Cassel. 2 years with Brady netted Moss 36 TDs and 2700 yds
You have to get open or it doesn't matter who is throwing the ball rice was always open because he was the best route runner ever
@@donaldduvk9226 Well Randy broke Jerry's single season TD record in the 1st season he played with Brady at age 30, which also allowed Tom to nearly double his previous career high in TDs for a season with 50 so that evidence refutes your asinine statement.
Jonathan Deegan You do know Jerry had to complete with All Pro's own his own offense for the ball. He also had QB's named Bono,Garbic,Garcia,Kemp, and others but his touchdowns looked the same. At 40 years old he had over 1,000 yards rec and has 209 touchdowns with over 23,000 total yards. All you have are what ifs and T.O has had more QB's than Moss and their stats are similar. While T.O didn't have a Brady.
@@richmass6556 Trust me, there's nothing about the NFL you know that I don't lol.
T.O. should've been 1st ballot over Moss imo and if you read my original post I said Jerry was the GOAT, but that Randy has an argument and many NFL players have said they'd take prime Moss over prime Rice. And Your point about Rice playing with All-Pros works against your argument because they couldn't double Rice like they did Moss (damn that hurts). You also forgot Rich Gannon for the Raiders who was also an All-Pro. Who else wants to get served?
Jonathan Deegan Oh really what was the Two mandates the NFL had in 2005 if I can't tell you something about the League! To help you out about Rice all his touchdowns take up 46 minutes on UA-cam so check it out. Your welcome
Proclaiming your the greatest is a bad strategy, I was fortunate to watch both careers, both incredible careers randy moss had a shorter career but was spectacular in a shorter time, but Jerry rice was overall greater for longer period of time and I agree with Jerry let your fans decide,so I decided Jerry rice
Randy Moss led the league in receiving yards 0 years. He led in receptions 0 years. He wasnt that good at much except jumping high in the end zone. Jerry Rice caught 1850 yards with Elvis Grbac throwing to him most of the season. Not even close.
Always knew Montana was overrated. D'OH!
@@coolguy02536 He might have been. Montana was a great QB and rose to the occasion in big games. But he's sandwiched between Jared Goff and Carson Wenz on the all time QB ratings. I think he benifited more from Rice than vice versa.
Moss could have been , but he lacked the work ethic of Rice .
You mean Moss didn't cheat like Rice did
Not even a competition. Jerry Rice retired with over 100 NFL records...100! The dude had 10 RUSHING touchdowns and was ultra durable. He was tough, smart, ran amazing routes, had crazy good hands and ran better after the catch than any other player in NFL history. But the 208 touchdowns and 22,895 yards with essentially 15 yards per catch says it all. Rice is the GOAT.
He just wouldn't have had those numbers without playing with Hall of Fame QBs, for 15 years, not to mention the pass happy west coast offense and the great teams he played for with multiple weapons on offense.
If this were a video game, maybe Moss is better, but in real life, no way. You can’t quit on your team like Moss did with the Raiders, and call yourself the best ever. You can’t be in the prime of your career and have two different teams trade you because you’re such a problem off the field or in the locker room, that they feel they’re better off without you, and still call yourself the best. Is Randy more physically gifted? Yes. Did Randy do everything he possibly could to make himself and his team better every time he stepped on the field, in the weight room, or in the film room? Nope! He’s no different than other great talents like Antonio Brown, and OBJ. They can certainly put up big numbers in the box score, but none of them are winners.
Exactly. All these clowns saying Moss is better must be basing their opinion off of playing Madden.
Well said ....kill them with facts beyond stats.....work ethic, team morality, organizational competence, etc ...... big disparity and vast difference between the two....same with TO....gifted and had the work ethic but also a malcontent at some at each stop.....issues with organizations
I've watched them all over the years and no wr comes close to Jerry Rice! Heck he is arguably the best NFL PLAYER ever, forget the wr position!
he cheated tho
Rice is voted best player of all time BY the players so what does that tell you? Rice is GOAT Moss is second.
Karo French Even Chris Carter, who mentored a young Randy Moss says Rice is the best!
@@delerocky Mmm no, Carter appropriately called Rice a cheater after Rice randomly threw him under the bus lol
