I have very oily skin and tried it also today - it does work for me but you do need to powder the hell out of it if you want to use powder bronzer and blush afterwards. I also tried cream products only ( blush and bronzer ) right after the foundation, and it is holding up much better than powder ones . Thanks for the honesty love your videos
Pinning so that other people with oily skin can see this and try it to get this to work 😉. Yea I could tell right away that you'd have to powder it alot. Like I said it reminds me of the colourpop no filter Stix and I had to powder it SO much to reduce transfer and improve longevity, and even then it still didn't wear well at all on me. But I'm so glad you got it to work!
@@princessmowatt1015 you're right that balms are usually NOT targeted to oily skin because they would tend to sit on top of the skin and slide during the day. This one is very different in that the texture definitely sinks in after application and does not stay "balmy" which is why it works for me. It does have a radiant finish, not matte which is why i do need to powder before and after application.
How was your wear test? I also have oily skin and live in a humid country I wanted to buy this but it is pricey in my country. I don't want to buy it only to get disappointed afterwards. Saw this product get viral on Tiktok and I'm sooo tempted to be honest.
@@belindaginete2931 for me with powder right after skincare and SPF, and then the foundation, then powder again i do get a good 6h with no creasing whatsoever and no oxydation. For context I have no acne or much to hide, just acne scars and extremely oily skin. After 6h the cheeks will still look perfect but any area that moves ( i talk a lot during the day in meetings) the areas around the nose and chin will thin out and skin will start showing, but its not dramatic either, i could keep going without touching it up. I do have to powder again at that point near the nose and between brows to control shine but for some reason the skin still looks very good under it and it does not crack or sink into pores. It also "accepts" a new layer of powder without cracking up or looking patchy which I appreciate. That is actually probably why i like this foundation a lot. We all know foundations you can never touch up after the fact.... I think it is really a unique formulation that is worth trying but you have to work around the fact that it is not for oily skin by default. I tend to try every new product that comes out but if you are on a budget I would focus on matte foundations (original Fenty, and Lancome are my go to), and also make sure that your skincare underneath is not too dewy. For instance if I use a chemical sunscreen, or a glowy moisturizer under it no foundation will ever last more than 2h on me. With light moisturizers and a matte mineral sunscreen (there at least 2 good ones on the market right now with Supergoop and Skinceuticals) + powder on top before foundation + Setting spray after (I use Cinema Secret its made for theater and performances) I manage to create a matte base that makes everything last at least 4+h more, even foundations like this one.
All the other reviewers were hyping these product up; but they hide behind artificial lights, add filters or powder their face halfway through the wear test. Thank you so much for your honest review.
omg yes the powdering halfway through annoys me so much! I'm lazy I do not bring a powder compact with me ever. The most I do is have blotting sheets I am too lazy to be touching up unless it's a wedding or something
Just wanted to update: Since this video I have tried this foundation TWO more times (one time without setting my face at all and using NO additional products such as blush bronzer etc, and another time after that). I can CONFIDENTLY say that this foundation still does not work for me. The texture of the balm reminds of stick/cream foundations, and those types of formulas never look good on me so I can see why this foundation was not a good fit for me. That being said, if you were able to get this to work on you, that is great. As I said in my video, makeup is very personal to each individual. What works on me, may not work for you and vice versa. My wear tests are meant to inform and show you why a product may or may not work on MY skin, and I leave it up to you to decide what you want to do with that information.
My sister’s skin type is just like yours & she would struggle finding a good foundation to make her feel good with all her acne, scaring & redness. She has used so much from drugstore to luxury to get a nice smooth look but nothing would make a good difference until recently. She now uses a mixture of NARS & maybelline. The combo of the two makes her skin looks flawless. She also uses a brush to “pat” it on. Just throwing it out there for anyone who has a skin type similar.
I have 2 videos called 1.best/worst dewy, natural, hydrating, luminous foundations for oily skin and 2. best/worst matte foundations for oily skin and I covered basically ALL the foundations I ever tried so that might really help your sister in terms of suggestions. I LOVED maybelline but as of 2019 I am cruelty free so I can't purchase from them anymore but the Superstay was my JAMM

THE PAT is essential - I wish more makeup youtubers went back to talking about technique a little instead of mostly focusing on products. cause with texture, how you apply is often just as important as what you're applying.
I searched this foundation on here and all the reviews were raving, I then added acne to my search and found you! Thank you for your honesty! I don't have money to waste. New follower now :)

I swear the more and more reviews I watch on this I'm starting to see that if you're not a teenager or have 20-year-old skin without a bump or a flaw you're good oh and normal skin because dry doesn't work well and oily doesn't work well. I swear this stuff does not look good on everyone. I just watched a review and God love this girl. She wanted to love it so much she loved it. yes! I definitely think this is a product that may look good on camera and for short time spans but for longetivity, nah. and for the price point that's a pass for me!

Thank you for actually showing real close-ups!! Instagram almost suckered my textured skin/acne having self into buying this. It’s too expensive for me to even bother giving it a try.
yea I think I actually gave this MORE chances than I normally would (on and off camera) because of the price point but no matter what I did, it just did not want to work unfortunately!

This video was really informative, almost bought this foundation :/ It would be really helpful if you could a video on some of your favourite foundations for acne/textured skin!
I have 2 videos: 1. Best/worst/ Hydrating/Dewy/Natural Foundatioons for oily skin and 2. Best/Worst Foundations for Oily skin and when I did wear tests on those foundations they lasting really well on my acne/texture so those are the videos I recommend! (:
Omg thank youuuu I finally found someone with my skin ! I was about to checkout on the website since they have 30% right now but I said let me see one more time if I can find another video and bam here you go ! Just as you said everyone that is bragging about this has perfect skin !
yes exactly! and I was one of the first negative reviews when this came out and everyone said it was a "me problem not the product" and a couple weeks later all the review started to get negative and i was like SEEEE I TOLD YA SOO
It’s looking how it looked for me with the KVD lock it foundation. Thank you for this video. Everyone is hyping it because of the full coverage, but I remember when I had the Lock it foundation, it was great coverage but it would break up all over my forehead and nose especially. I don’t even have skin problems either but somehow the foundation made it look like my skin was peeling or something. I remember this one hot day at work I wore the KVD Lock it and went to the bathroom and my forehead was all patchy like so bad, I was so embarrassed, no wonder ppl kept staring at my forehead 😅 lol
oh no!! if only people told you!! it's like when I have stuff stuck in my teeth and people are too embarrassed to tell me. like noo you're doing me a favor let me know!! lol
Really hoping this brand would pull through and have something groundbreaking. Thanks for showing this I'm not wasting my money on it Uoma beauty still is a win
Glad you could save some money! I will say though so far I am the only one with a bad review (that I could find), but all the reviews I watched they had really good skin. So for now I'm DEFINITELY the odd man out with this foundation 😭
@@IvoryCherry I think you're the only one who was being honest on the review . Because I've used the old KVD portrait foundation and that thing was scary on me and it had the same issues as this Apple foundation.
i also have super bad acne and scarring but i have super dry skin so a lot of foundation for acne tend to be drying :((( none the less i really appreciate this review since most of the video i’ve seen are of people with perfect skin
I’m 43 and have mature skin and some wrinkles but I do have extra dry skin. I wore milk makeup hydro primer under and I wore it for over 10 hours on the first day and I really enjoyed it. I did use the KVD lock-it setting powder. I will say everyone that really likes this foundation have dry skin.
Yeah the elf cc cream didn’t work for me either. 😕 now, I don’t think I’m going to try this one either. Thank you for also trying it without your skin care to see if it made a difference.
I’m glad I watched this. It’s finally back in stock at Sephora. It’s currently in my basket but after watching your honest review it’s a hard NO for me . Thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you so much for your honesty!!! Thank you for reviewing this product And such a very detailed review it wasn’t just all bright lights in your face making everything look smooth and perfect I appreciate it …
First time seeing your channel and this was one of the best foundation reviews I’ve seen in a WHILE!! Love how you talk to us like we’re right there with you!! New subbie brb gonna go binge ur videos 🥰
You look so good in my opinion. This is my first time watching you, I may have found my new favorite UA-camr. Btw good job on looking out for little tofu, we need more people like you to look out for animals. ❤️
I wouldn't use anything with Coconut. Its very pore blocking. Maybe it was a bit greasy under the foundation. A You tuber called Thrift Thick, tested this foundation as she has oily skin, she said as the day progressed it was like a oil slick on her face. I personally dont like these type of foundations, i prefer a liquid as they are more light weight. YOU ARE PRETTY.
I was looking for someone honest! I have super oily skin and some texture from acne scarring and I was hesitant about this product. Like you said, everyone has practically perfect skin, so it's hard to tell. I saw two negative reviews on TikTok (they got all the separation like you!), so I thought I'd hop on here and see what was being said. I think it works only on dry/normal skin. Anyway, I'm subbing! Going to see what foundations you DO recommend!
haha i'm like damnit it'll be easier if I just show you what I'm talkin about 🤣 and I absolutely agree the more normal your skin, the better results with this foundation for sure
thank you! they are from nail addict and the polish is named love fling (: I do have a discount code in my description box to save 55% on your polishes from them!
Thank you so much for your raw review, So happy I watched it. Although, I don’t really have acne prone skin I have texture and combination skin and I cannot find a good foundation so I try everything that comes out! Can you try the Milani cream to powder foundation. Heard it’s similar but better than Kat Von D.
My skin is combination but i feel like i produve a lot of oil when wearing makeup and the cakey and patchy breakage is exactly what i was worried about tyy
yes that happens to me too! Sometimes my skin is normal or (very rarely) feels a little dry but the minute I put on foundation...BAM it resets to oily lol
ooo that is a tough one I LOVE foundation and I love trying new ones ALL the time. I'd say my current favs are It cosmetics CC cream, urban decay stay naked, and essence pretty natural foundation (:
I'm a new viewer & already love how honest you are! I watch juicyjas she also is a youtuber & you reminded me of her. Straight up ladies who love drug store makeup!!💖 Going to subscribe to your channel beautiful!💕🦋
Really enjoyed your video! I just subscribed :) The foundation reminds me of the Juvias place stick foundation, that’s how it applied to my skin and made me break out. The only foundation that truly works for me and is my go to for the past 3+ years is the born this way foundation. Have you done a review on this? If so I would love to watch.
Lol “just come here” 😂 I appreciate the honesty about this !!! I kinda wanted it I kinda didn’t cuz I like medium (buildable) to full coverage. But I was also worried about how little it was inside. I figured this would be a perfect summer foundation though , but over all I probably won’t purchase unless if it goes on sale or something 🤷🏽♀️
if you are still looking for a full coverage ( I mean 1 layer full coverage) I have a video called Best/Worst Matte Foundations and I categorize the foundations by coverage so that might give you some ideas of what to try! Off the top of my head I remember dose of colors being full coverage in 1 layer!
The craziest thing is I always thought full coverage foundation is for people with more blemishes but this foundation doesn’t seem to help if anything it amplifies it
exactly!! people keep telling me "the foundation looks bad because your skin is bad"...thats the POINT? wasn't makeup invented to help cover up imperfections? so if it doesn't even do that are only people with perfect skin allowed to wear makeup? I mean that's the point of my reviews. To show that people with very common skin issues how a product will look and wear on their face. So I really never get why people come at me telling me the issue is me and not the product :|
I think first and foremost it just doesn't work unless you have bone dry skin. If you produce any oil it's gonna cause the foundation to basically lift and find every crevice and piece of texture to migrate towards. IDK why they're trying to advertise it as a one size fits all (because obviously this huge social media push was mostly undisclosed paid ads) when specialized foundations that work for a niche audience usually do better longterm than the ones that try (and fail) to everyone. I thought it sounded perfect because I have super dry skin (woo, that tretinoin life) but once I saw it was getting pushed to oily people too I realized it was probably just gimmick and removed it from my cart.
Your review was really helpful cause all the other review were super positive but as you said their skin were flawless... Not my case!! It's the first time I'm watching your video but you mention another foundation Nyx can't stop won't stop which does exactly the same as this one for me 😥 Anyway thanks for you review and I'm off to your other videos 😉😁
Oh boy. I just ordered this yesterday.... probably gonna regret spending the $38 on it but I’ll give it a fair shot 🙃 I wonder if I’ll be able to make it 10 hours for a wear test 🤦🏻♀️ I like creme to powder foundations but if it stays “balmy” I probs won’t like it either
I totally understand the struggle but in my humble opinion, you should always wear primer ( I always do) cuz I know my skin don’t play and I can’t live without my Becca ever matte Poreless priming perfector and elf Poreless putty primer. They pretty much make all my foundations work!
Cream goes with cream...not powder on cream. Maybe it's just your skin type but I personally find this foundation to be AMAZING!!! Covers everything ..never had seperated and is flawless for long long wear .
I think it looks a lot better on day 2. But I do think it looks more makeupy on you. This is the first review that I watched so I'm curious to see how it worked for others.

I stumbled across your channel today and I’m very happy I did. I loved your honesty and thorough review. Subscribed!
thank you! so sweet of you to say!💖😘
What I love about your reviews is that they’re so real and remind me that every human has pores LOL , thanks for three review you saved me money!
Found this vid in my recommended! So happy for the UA-cam algorithm that I found u! I immediately subbed when you showed the shade match compared to ur face, I legit laughed out loud 😂 the struggle is real finding a shade online 😂😂
yesss it is SO hard!
Thank you, Ivory! I've watched 4 reviews and think I'm convinced, despite the hype. Pass. Not for the pricepoint! You're a true beauty and I love hearing your reviews!
thank you! yea I still hear mostly good reviews but even off camera when I tried it, it did NOT work for me unfortunately :/
Preach! Watching vids of ppl with minimal flaws on their skin can be so misleading. I’m glad I watched your review!
Glad it was helpful!
Ivory!! I’m so happy to see this video! You deserve so much more views and subs!
thank you!! 💖
Where have you been my whole life!!!! Randomly saw your video and now I'm obsessed! Thank you!!!!!!!!!
*💯
aww thank you!! you are so sweet!!
That dreaded online foundation matching, I know your plight.
Great video, always very thorough.
I literally will have 5 tabs open of the foundations shades I think I am and spend 20 minutes going back and forth trying to figure which one will work for me...all for me to STILL be wrong most of the time. This is my curse
@@IvoryCherry At least you’re wrong some of the time. I’m wrong 100% of the time. I have given up completely, if I can’t get a foundation in person, I won’t get it at all.
Great job on the color for this one. Too bad it didn’t work out.
Best review I have ever watched.
Most realistic review 😊
wow that means SO much thank you!!!
You know what’s crazy, your camera while zoomed out made it look so flawless!
I’m sad this one didn’t work out for you but also glad cuz you get that coin back!
I hope you've seen Clueless lol "she's a Monet. From far away it looks okay but up close it's a big ole mess!"
@@IvoryCherry 🤣🤣
This video was really informative, almost bought this foundation :/ It would be really helpful if you could a video on some of your favourite foundations for acne/textured skin!
I have 2 videos: 1. Best/worst/ Hydrating/Dewy/Natural Foundatioons for oily skin and 2. Best/Worst Foundations for Oily skin and when I did wear tests on those foundations they lasting really well on my acne/texture so those are the videos I recommend! (:
You have a new subscriber. So glad I found you!! We literally have the same skin match. Love all your reviews
yayy skin twinsies!! I love it!
I love ur reviews. I also feel like most of us deal with skin problems and we need realistic reviews
thank you so so much!
I love your make up here it looks sooooo pretty !!
Thank you so much for the honest non-filtered review!! I am acne-prone and think I will leave this out too!! take care xx
Thank you for testing this!! Was so curious on how it worked for people with human skin
This is dead helpful, thank you so much for doing this video!
Awesome review hun! Tfs with us. Have a blessed week 💜👍🏾
@@alittleoddme1940 oh no! I never tried that one! Thanks for the heads up, now I never will haha
Im so so glad I discovered you! You have such a sweet personality 🥰
Thank you so much!!💋
thank u for your honesty. u r right everything is not for everybody's skin. u and other UA-camrs have saved me so much money from purchasing this.
Glad I could help!💋
i also have super bad acne and scarring but i have super dry skin so a lot of foundation for acne tend to be drying :((( none the less i really appreciate this review since most of the video i’ve seen are of people with perfect skin
I know your pain! I have oily skin but the skin over my acne is dry since it scabs and stuff so alot of foundations cling onto it horribly
@@IvoryCherry yes omg it sucks :((( i hope to see more foundation reviews though youre doing such amazing things for us acne prone girl ❤️
I’m 43 and have mature skin and some wrinkles but I do have extra dry skin. I wore milk makeup hydro primer under and I wore it for over 10 hours on the first day and I really enjoyed it. I did use the KVD lock-it setting powder. I will say everyone that really likes this foundation have dry skin.
just found you and i i love this review you are doing for the acne and oily skin people. more power to you!
Yay! Thank you! 💖
Yeah the elf cc cream didn’t work for me either. 😕 now, I don’t think I’m going to try this one either. Thank you for also trying it without your skin care to see if it made a difference.
you are so welcome!
I’m glad I watched this. It’s finally back in stock at Sephora. It’s currently in my basket but after watching your honest review it’s a hard NO for me . Thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you so much for your honesty!!! Thank you for reviewing this product And such a very detailed review
it wasn’t just all bright lights in your face making everything look smooth and perfect
I appreciate it …
You're so enjoyable to watch! So happy I found your channel 💕
thank you!! so sweet of you!
Amazing and thorough review! Subscribed!!!😁
thank you so so much for your support! have a great weekend!! 💖
Also, your fostering work?! Dang. I cannot applaud you enough! ❤️👍🏼💪🏼❤️
Thank you! It really is super rewarding and alot of fun to do!
Thank you for this review! I have acne, dark marks and texture so this is refreshing to see! ❤️
happy to help!!
What an interesting product. Thank you for reviewing this! Can’t wait for the rest of haul!
Hello I love your reviews 😃Great job 💖
Glad you like them!💖
First time seeing your channel and this was one of the best foundation reviews I’ve seen in a WHILE!! Love how you talk to us like we’re right there with you!! New subbie brb gonna go binge ur videos 🥰
awww thank you so much!! so glad this was helpful for you! 💖
Congratulations for over 6k subscribers 🤗😍!!!!
Thank you!! 😘😘
New subbie!!! Thank u for doing real close ups...yeah ppl w problem skin (even by the slightest) gave 👎 reviews.
yea the tide is definitely turning with this product! it seems pretty polarizing depending on who you ask lol
You look so good in my opinion. This is my first time watching you, I may have found my new favorite UA-camr. Btw good job on looking out for little tofu, we need more people like you to look out for animals. ❤️
aww thank you! & Tofu did eventually get adopted and she loves her new forever home!!
YOU ARE PRETTY.
yes I prefer liquid too!! and aww thank you!!
Also my favorite part was when you were like, "Just come here!" 🤣
haha i'm like damnit it'll be easier if I just show you what I'm talkin about 🤣 and I absolutely agree the more normal your skin, the better results with this foundation for sure
I just discovered your channel and I’ve already subscribed! You have a similar skin type to me, and you seem really genuine and chill :)
thank you so much for your support! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 💖
Been looking forward to this! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts! 😊
I stumbled on you channel and I enjoyed your review. Great review!
Hey just dropping by to say this review is 🔥. Thank you!
awww thank you love!
Love your reviews so honest
Max Factor miracle touch looks to be a similar formula and has been out for awhile. The shades seem to come out very light with KVD.
Wow amazing review, very thorough 🤩 thank you 😊
love your reviews!! plz do the new lys foundation!
I added it to my list of foundations I'm interested in!
Love your nail polish, what is the color and brand, thanks your the best
thank you! they are from nail addict and the polish is named love fling (: I do have a discount code in my description box to save 55% on your polishes from them!
Girl thanks !! I thought I did something wrong. Mines looked bad right after I put setting spray. I’m not happy either
YAY! the first person who agrees with me!! thank god that makes me feel better I'm not alonee lol
We have very similar skin types. Thank you for your honest review
YES! I think that is the next one I'm going to try!
@@IvoryCherry Awesome, keep up the great work!
This is what I’ve needed!!
I will never find a foundation that works. Bless you for trying. I’d love to know your favorite!
ooo that is a tough one I LOVE foundation and I love trying new ones ALL the time. I'd say my current favs are It cosmetics CC cream, urban decay stay naked, and essence pretty natural foundation (:
I'm a new viewer & already love how honest you are! I watch juicyjas she also is a youtuber & you reminded me of her. Straight up ladies who love drug store makeup!!💖
Going to subscribe to your channel beautiful!💕🦋
awww thank you!! yess drugstore makeup is the best!
Thanks for the detailed review! What is the puff tool thing you used to apply setting powder to your jaw area?
It's from Tati Beauty (:
Really enjoyed your video! I just subscribed :)
The foundation reminds me of the Juvias place stick foundation, that’s how it applied to my skin and made me break out. The only foundation that truly works for me and is my go to for the past 3+ years is the born this way foundation. Have you done a review on this? If so I would love to watch.
I did do a review on the born this way foundation!
@@IvoryCherry You're absolutely right girl! I appreciate your perspective 100%
I love this review. You definitely have a new subscriber.
thank you so much for your support! 💖
Your review was really helpful cause all the other review were super positive but as you said their skin were flawless... Not my case!! It's the first time I'm watching your video but you mention another foundation Nyx can't stop won't stop which does exactly the same as this one for me 😥
Anyway thanks for you review and I'm off to your other videos 😉😁
Thank you so much! I'm so happy that this was helpful for you! ❤️😘
Oh yea at first I thought it looked so good because of the coverage but I had a blissful 10 minutes with this before it went downhill lol
So helpful! 💕Wish I had seen this video before buying this lol also question, what sponge did you say you use?
The microfiber sponge by Juno and co! they sell them at target now too!
I totally understand the struggle but in my humble opinion, you should always wear primer ( I always do) cuz I know my skin don’t play and I can’t live without my Becca ever matte Poreless priming perfector and elf Poreless putty primer. They pretty much make all my foundations work!
Thanks for this review. We need a good face foundation that is worth it specially for people like us with acne prone skin.
aww look at Tofu sitting nicely!!
Haha she is such a good girl! I'm snuggling with her in my lap right now as we speak! 🤗🤗
This is a very good review, thank you!!! Subscribed!
Thank you so much! your support means soo much to me!
Make up will always look like make up no matter what skin type you have. I tried Fenty and the hype is well just that.. Hype!.
omg I feel you on that girl!!!
Can you do a review for the kvd lock it powder foundation please! (Unless you did and I just can’t find it 😅😊)
Cream goes with cream...not powder on cream. Maybe it's just your skin type but I personally find this foundation to be AMAZING!!! Covers everything ..never had seperated and is flawless for long long wear .
I also wanted to buy this but I have oily skin.
I think it looks a lot better on day 2. But I do think it looks more makeupy on you. This is the first review that I watched so I'm curious to see how it worked for others.
yea I saw NO bad reviews (but I tried not to watch too many) and I really feel left out here
