I am trying to remount my loose mirror. My discovery shows that a previous owner tried to use silcone on the rain sensor to attach to the screen. I have the mirror dislodged from the rain sensor but its dangling and the rain sensor is also dangling. I feel like these are preventing me from getting the plastic piece to adhere properly. Do you think I can remove the 2 pieces at 3:09 and get access to the rain sensor plug or do you think I need to take all the trim pieces off to do this. This is 9 year old plastic and it likes to break.
I'd be removing all the trim to get access to it and see where the problem lies and remove all the silicone from the previous owner. Getting access to the rain sensor and plug I think it going to be difficult without removing the trim. Note that for the loose mirror, there have been numerous instances where the metal tabs on the mirror get bent out a bit, and so bending them back will have the mirror be held much more securely.
I'm a bit lost and I hope you can help. Just got 2013 Boxster S and FM antenna has almost no signal. Dealer changed the windshield and it did not help. I know the cable should be somewhere on the side but not sure what trim I should pull to inspect the connection before removing the radio.
The connection points are behind the A pillar trim. Take a look at the dash removal vid that shows the connection points. Link here starts where I show the trim removal, then after it shows what's underneath with the antenna connections. ua-cam.com/video/Es844YoCr5s/v-deo.htmlsi=OQgaH5EjxwcBsA11&t=561
@@jeffrichardsoncardiy I took the antenna from my base 981 and swapped. Looks like whoever was installing the windshield damaged the cable and it looks like it's cut half way. That explains signal issues.
All cars are fitted with the sensor, but it's not activated unless you pay for the option. Or you can code yourself using PIWIS. See this video. ua-cam.com/video/aZ551l9bbCc/v-deo.htmlsi=_Jhi9WKpSmwi-t0p
Thank you for making these videos! These are a gold mine being a 981 2.7 owner!
Happy to help. Glad you are getting something from them.

@@Beyond_Repair That's good you got to the bottom of it.
How do you incorporate the rain sensor into the car. Is it an additional options?

Do you happen to know where the DAB radio antenna is located?
Don't really know, but I suspect it's in the windscreen.
@@jeffrichardsoncardiyThank you, your videos are fantastic really, really useful.
