This engine has to be the best most reliable turbofan ever made

180 min etops on twin jets not bad for a jet engine designed in the late 1960s early 1970s plus its a Rolls Royce rb211 and who doesn’t like that engine

For those who aren't aware - the very tip of the spinner cone is made of rubber!

Imho, it is best sounding engine along with soviet turbofan engines Solovyov Д30КУ ("organ") and Ivchenko АИ25 ("whispering"). They have bad fuel efficiency but really nice sounding

Love Iceland Air and the 757.
It was always a blast to spot the plane between 2500 and 3000 ft with this extreme thrust applied.
Plus they always hand-flew from EDDL, otherwise they would have never ended up above our property regularly. Such a cool plane and the engines… dreamy.
When you‘re beneath it and they give it full whack. Just insane…!
