My boys and I just came back from Japan. Absolutely stunning country, people and it's culture! Thanks mostly to your Top 5 guides, we had a blast. We took the Mt. Fuji/Kawaguchiko side trip, will try this Hakone route next time. Great job as usual!

I've planned about 80% of my next trip to Japan through your videos. You constantly capture beauty that I fell in love with while I was there. Always informative, always impressed
I planned all of my Kurobe/ Tateyama trip the same way. My only suggestion would be to include an extra one day, cause when you see these incredible places for yourself 3 days just aint enough.
As I will be in Japan next March your content has always been fantastic for ideas and planning but this takes the cake. I love nature and this is such a nice blend of city and nature. Thank you for this amazing content!!
I have been using the site for many years to plan my trip to Japan and never knew there was a face behind it. I always thought it was curated automatically by some sort of robot but today I finally saw a face behind the site. Thank you for providing me with very useful information about Japan for all these years. Really appreciate it! Since the Kizomizudera is still under construction, I can tell you took the video not long ago haha
We're glad you've found the site useful. Indeed each attraction detailed on the site has been visited first-hand by the editor-in-chief and usually at least one or more staff. Thanks for the kind words!
I love Japan so much. Because is it one of the most greatest country in the world. Japan is also nature and blend of city thank you so much Japan. I love you very much
I live in Tokyo. I recommend Shibuya, Harajuku, and Ginza. I have been to Hakone, definitely worth going for 2-3 days. I have been to Kyoto 6 times. I recommend renting a kimono for about 35-50 USD and walking around with a friend.
Was in Hakone and Kyoto last month. Truly, TRULY, something to marvel at. 😍 Hakone/ Kyoto. EDIT: and thank you for the upload. I too plan around your videos. Did so for the Kurobe/ Tateyama part of my last trip.
We just wrapped up this exact trip. We saved the video and recreated it with an additional day in Hakone. Perfect itinerary and the Japanese efficiency was in display. The Hakone Pass was super worth it yet the Kyoto-Osaka Kurama pass had fewer benefits as none of the buses and cable cars were included. Still. A wonderful itinerary.
The Hakone Caldera is magical: my partner and I visited it with a Hakone Pass three years ago, when the weather was glorious. We especially loved the (unexpected) art galleries and sculpture park. We even managed to get a glorious view of Fuji San. It's just a place to walk around.......whilst trying to forget it's inside a restless giant volcanic caldera. Staying in the Hyatt Regency Hotel helped to make our stay that bit more special.
I have been blessed with two whole food nods😭. Sam does such a good job and your guy's camera shots are so aesthetic. Really love the videos, wouldn't mind them being just a bit longer though. It always goes by to fast. Thank you for the videos.
As always, great video! Takes me back to Japan. However, believe me when I say 1-2 days in Hakone is not enough. I fell in love with the place, and will be back for sure.
Thank you for taking us through this magical journey of a gem called Japan. I remember once my Japanese client told me, to go outside of Tokyo to know the real Japan. Now I understand the meaning of his statement. Tourists and foreigners must know that there is much more to Japan than Tokyo and the madness in that city ❤️ Kon'nichiwa Japan 🥰😇☺️
I think I was there when you filmed this.. around early to mid June ? Absolutely loved japan. Hakone is a must do town... the onsens are amazing. Tokyo and Kyoto are great to visit. Love the people love the culture ... but what I love the most ...is the “way of life”.... wish i was Japanese!!!
Hakone is one of my favourite, we stayed full 2 days there, however when my husband and I visited there last year July the weather was not great, but still we enjoyed the ship and roaming around was amazing. Accommodations are expensive in Hakone specially in summer time where only few hotels open. Trains transport in Japan can be confusing, it's an art that you have to study well and it took us 3 days to understand and get used to it, specially in Tokyo area. Climbing to Mt. Fuji was one of the highlights of our 4 weeks Japan trip.
I spent 10 days in Kyoto. After a couple days, I stopped using public transportation because I enjoyed just walking around the city, and I found so many hidden gems doing so!
Nice, not long enough the videos. It is really nice to see your documentary. Im flying over this Dec 31st to January 11th. Always passing GION in Kyoto. Thanks for the info.
Impressive itinerary, I'll make a list as yours and go on Japan tour in Kanto to Kinki Region. This is somehow a nice reference. Good tour guidance vlog.
Been there. July 2019. Lovely place. Your video showed me places I had actually been. It is interesting to see it again through someone else's camera lens.
I'm so happy that I came across this video!! It's interesting because I'm planning my trip to Japan in 9/2022!! I'm hoping by then that this Covid-19 would have settled down a bit and life as we once knew it could possibly go on!! Public transportation is hugh in countries like this!! I was in Seoul last year and that's how everyone got around!! That's going to be my challenge for me as I've never used public transportation!! But I'am going to keep a open mind and hopfully by time I get there It won't be so scary to me!! I've subscribe to your channel!! And I look forward to more intel video's regarding Japan!! Thanks 4 Sharing🇺🇸❤🇯🇵
How did you get around in Seoul (and life) without using public transport? Its really a breeze and if you make a mistake most people will help you out. You also have time to study some basic Japanese to help you out during your travels. The Japanese people are very kind and helpful you will have no problems.
Nice vid. This guy's accent is bonkers - ahm tekkin a limited express out of the ciddy. Sort of a unique fusion of Wigan and Washington DC. Top notch filmmaking though.
Thanks for the feedback. Based on all the requests for longer videos, we did a video which was 24 minutes covering a three day trip across Kyushu (ua-cam.com/video/3N3XzdpLdmA/v-deo.html). If time and resources allow we would love to do more longer videos like this. Every video is a balancing act of final video length versus production time. Thanks again for the feedback and for watching!
Smaller towns outside the big cities will often be very expensive for a nice room (cheaper places exist but they have shared bathrooms or are hostels). I’m doing a roadtrip next month and most of my budget went to the hotels in all the villages 😭😅
@@OLGMC Not true....In Kyoto one can easily stay in a very nice hotel for half the price this guy paid. He doesn't seem to know the style of meal he had at that hotel.. He calls it a typical Japanese "course meal." ?? Maybe I'm just picky and a bit.. protective. For what it is worth, when not staying with friends, I have paid between $75- $150 and NEVER EVER shared a bath! For $75-- very small room. For $150-175-- MUCH better than any hotel in NYC at that price. THE THOUSAND would probably cost $400+in NYC! :>))) Of course I didn't get a kaiseki dinner, either. Even so, for that, I would not eat at a hotel...
@@billy5821 Yeah the price range "80-150$" for a hotel with private bathroom is correct, you're right but I called it more "expensive" in comparison with for example US or Europe where you have a lot of cheap hotel brands and "shared bathrooms" isn't a thing in those regions. I've been in nice hotels in the US and Europe for prices between 40-80$ so in that regard I find Japan a bit more expansive if you want a bigger room or private bathroom. I'm leaving for my roadtrip Japan in 2 weeks and like half my budget went to hotels😁 (I did pick private bathrooms everywhere though)
@@OLGMC I guess my point was that a place like THE THOUSAND in NYC would be way more expensive.A place for $80 in NYC would be mostly hookers. LOL...
