I've finally released my first editing tutorial! Be sure to give a thumbs up if this video helped you, and tell me in the comments what you'd want to learn in future videos!
Nice run down of the edit panel in Lightroom! For Saturation and Vibrance - Saturation will saturate all the colours overall - what Vibrance does brings lesser saturated colours up to the same level as the most saturated colour in the image. I usually like to scale back my saturation a tad and increase the vibrance a bit. :)
Thanks so much for that insight, I learn something new everyday! Super useful, thank you! Yes I find on some edits if I'm going for a more moody look I will also scale back the saturation. Cheers!
Thank you very much Alvin for that tutorial! Finally, some Lightroom instruction that uses aviation for the subject (instead of waterfalls/sunsets/landscapes etc etc). Very useful, and much appreciated.
No problem Greg! That’s exactly why I made this, most of the tutorials are on landscapes, so thought it was about time for one focused on aviation photography!
Awesome video Alvin, a great insight into a true master editer! I thought I knew my way around lightroom but I learnt so much, especially the sharpening masking! Any chance you could show us how you use Topaz and how it can help us with editing in a later video?
nice video bro. good to see you in my inbox. loved getting a look into your thought process when editing, I thought I knew a fair bit but turns I dont. You learn something everyday.

Yup, it’s a great lens to have in your arsenal. You might also want to look into something with more focal length like a 300 or 400 for the farther shots.
Amazing video Alvin! I don’t use lightroom but this was very interesting to watch! (If I say this you will know exactly who I am: At least here I can’t comment with the wrong account😉😂)
I personally don't have much issue with the Instagram compression. Another thing you can do is to resize it down to something like 3000x2000 on export.

NIce job on explaining the various tabs in LR. Question for you, where did you shoot this from? I know this is LAX. Be well!
Is the canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L usm lens a good starter planespotting lens?
Yup, it’s a great lens to have in your arsenal. You might also want to look into something with more focal length like a 300 or 400 for the farther shots.
I’ve always wanted my aviation photos to be more glossy than matte, but I never can get that magazine look

Thanks for your presence Vivek!! :)

(If I say this you will know exactly who I am: At least here I can’t comment with the wrong account😉😂)
Hahaha! Thanks Alexander! Glad you found the right account to comment with :P Curious, what software do you use for your editing?
@@onemoreweektogo I use Pixelmator Photo on my iPad. It works really wel actually!
You export at 100%. Do you find Instagram compression reduces the image quality on upload? I've seen others suggest 70%-80% quality. Wdyt?
I personally don't have much issue with the Instagram compression. Another thing you can do is to resize it down to something like 3000x2000 on export.
what type of lightroom do you have? i purchased adobe lightroom but it looks much different than yours and doesn't have the same features
Maybe you are using Lightroom CC? Mine was the classic version
Youu aree baackk?
Yep! Will be doing editing-focused videos in the short term but got some trip reports lined up for later this year!
