I'm really digging the series so far. One suggestion I would make is to enable viewing file extensions in Windows explorer. When Ableton created the clip settings file your listing showed 'Kick' and 'Kick.wav', when in reality you had 'Kick.wav' and 'Kick.wav.asd'.
This is a great new series! So long I struggled with the piano roll and no one got granular with audio and midi like you did here. I will continue, and of course reciprocate. I'm also, like many others, very happy to have you back. Thanks again.

Under Places in my browser it just says Packs, User Library, and Current Project. No add folder option. Clicking and dragging does not work either. What am I missing?
Hey Man, really appreciating all this info. Just made the switch from FL to Ableton, Is there a way to make playback start from where I have clicked my marker in session view? I'm aware that [ctrl + space] works in arrangement. It's frustrating me that you'll have to listen to all the 12 bars or so before to get to the point where you just made a change..

12:45 Not to be rude, but if someone doesn't understand that by altering how a file one has imported into a DAW sounds, - one isn't changing the actual file, - one shouldn't be learning Ableton or any other music software. One should be first learning the basics of a Personal Computer use!! I mean, come on, - this is the same with ANY software out there, including Office. The original file remains what it is NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO TO IT unless you alter it and save it under the EXACT SAME NAME, in which case a program (Open Office, Audacity, Filmora, etc. etc. will warn you that you will actually REPLACE the original file with its altered version!! This is something one learns at the age of 5 or 6 these days, and adults who don't understand this and ask odd questions like: " I downloaded a file from the Internet but I no longer need it, - how do I upload it back?" shouldn't be learning Ableton! They should be learning the principles of basic computer use, and only then can they tackle specialised software like Ableton. I do appreciate that you're trying to help people learn Ableton, and you have a wonderful technique of underlining portions of the screen with a marker, which is rather unique and it helps people visualise the theory better. But TBH, - a lot of your tutorial contains unnecessary explanations which take up 60-70% of one's time. My advice to you would be this: Imagine this is apprenticeship and your student is getting a hands-on experience. Use Ableton the way you use it to create a track by playing or dragging sounds into clips, then importing them into Arrangement window, then downmixing and saving them step by step, explaining each step along the way. And your viewer will copy your steps, only using their files, or their MIDI keyboard. This way you will explain a lot more in much shorter period of time, and the viewer will learn Ableton theory through a hands-on method, developing motor memories. You made your tutorial assuming someone who watches it has barely used a computer in his or her life, and this will not be the case with 98% of your viewers. More than 50% will be those who already know how to use another DAW. More than 80% will be proficient with other software like Photoshop or Office, and more than 90% will understand that original file doesn't get altered or destroyed when you import it into a program and play with it. Make your tutorials based on Probability Theory, and they will become shorter, each video 15 minutes instead of 1 hour long, and you will get a lot more views. Probably more than anyone else, too, owing to your marker technique. The key is to not separate theory from hands-on experience, for example" each video topic not about part of the program but a manual how to do one specific thing such as "lining up beats" or "importing and using VST plug ins for instruments and effects" etc. Peace.
Really love the way through stuff at a steady pace! Plenty of explanation of what something is and how it works. Some people find parts easy that might be difficult for others. Thanks for taking the time to record these free in detail guides Sadowick! Much Appreciated!
I completely disagree. Good pedagogy is a rare find. Believe me i have been involved in education for over 30 years and I can say that all his steps are steps that very few teachers on you tube take. Just one or two steps missing means folks give up and go back down the ladder maybe never to return. Just look at all the encouraging comments accompanying all his videos :)
