Ethiopians and Somalis are not only neighbors but also do share common ancestors, We wasted alot of our beloved sons and daughters in shamful wars in the past, organised by Arabs or non Africans with intrests of their own. In Somaliland we outgrow such stupidity and recently rejected Egyptian driven hostility against Ethiopia despite promises of recognising us. We told them our pact of looking our peace and security as neighbors will be more beneficial in the longer future than short term intrests. Sooner or later Somaliland will be a recognised sovereign state bordering Ethiopia and trading with them. Africa should remain peace and prosperity ever.

Wait until you see the giant port that was just fully constructed and will be inaugurated in a couple weeks. This facility will be the largest commercial hub in the whole of the horn of Africa and will handle up to 1 million TEU containers annually in a matter of years. The construction of a 250km corridor will also finish soon to link the port of Berbera to Ethiopia, making Berbera, and Somaliland as a whole, a gateway not only for Ethiopia but as far as South Sudan, CAR and eastern DRC.
Also, we just had a hotly contested parliamentary and local elections in one go. This is the 8th time that Somalilanders go to the polls either in presidential, legislative or local council elections since 2001. There where hundreds of international observers and they've all confirmed that it was one of the freest, fairest and most credible elections in the world. The ruling Kulmiye party lost to the opposition parties who will now take over the parliament and most local councils.
Previously, Somaliland's European partners used to fund most of the electoral expenses. This time, Somaliland decided to fund the whole process itself to the tune of 20 million USD. This amount might seem trivial, but it's a lot for a small, unrecognized country that receives no foreign aid, gets very little FDI and is practically under sanctions due to its limbo status perpetuated by Somalia, Africa, and the international community. Imagine what this place could have looked like if Africa did the right thing and stopped denying us our rights.

Ethiopia is the land wich started the divideness of Somalia. Thats how the civil war started. Ethiopia sponsored militias like snm usc and ssdf wich fought the government of Somalia. Snm was started from the north and they were trained in Ethiopia. Go look it up. Its a one clan militia who now wants recognition. Thats not gonna happen i can assure you that. Somalia is one. Please dont interfere in our country. How would you like if we would brake Ethiopia up right now and started giving arms to different ethnic groups like amhara, oromo and tigray. And these militias wanted to secede and become an own country? Africa needs to unite not divide. The world is changing and there is no time or place for a two city state based on one clan.
