Jorvikson it’s not limited to one race, it started with black people because the Europeans that originally visited Africa felt threatened and devised a system to handicap a potential threat to their power...they apply the same racial bias to any non white culture that they want to exploit or denigrate. Asians, Middle Easterners, Latinos, Indians (from India), Native Americans, Inuits, etc, etc. How about you name a non white culture that European descendants have exempted from their racial bias? Don’t get me wrong I’m not talking about all white people, but definitely most of the white people that have power on national scale keep it by “managing” the potential or the exploitation of other cultures. Which leads other susceptible people to believe that that is the way to achieve success. Just imagine if an alien species came to earth and viewed European descendants the same way Europeans historically viewed other cultures, those aliens would be considered evil...
Humanity has created religions and cults and belief systems for centuries because it has always craved subservience in return for salvation. Superman gives us just that with the added bonus of him understanding the human condition.
Exactly. Superman offers all the benefits of serving a God while also having physical evidence the god actually not only exists, but is watching over you
Joshua Hamilton until someone uses magic to control Superman and team up to torture and degrade our whole race. Also, he still has kryptonite as a weakness and if he’s killed the world will experience a power vacuum, since we all depended on him.
How many times has he been attacked with kryptonite? eleventy billion or so? Dudes still here. At some point during his reign im fairly sure he will collect every chunk of his misbegotten shattered world that landed on earth and hurl it into the sun. Sure there will likely still be SOME around, but its a finite resource and every kryptonite lance, or room painted in kryptonite, or missile with a kryptonite warhead that gets used on him fails, there is that much less to use again. I realize that the standard argument for this setup is, "Its all well and good to give total power to the perfect man, but what happens when he gets a bellyache?" But this is superman, a being who will live forever under a yellow sun and is constantly getting stronger as time goes on.
Hey in the Batman episode, Katie was anti-Batman and now she's pro-Batman. I can't stand this flagrant disregard for canon in my cracked comedy diner series.
Not to mention Soren argued against Batman here by pointing out that all the villains only exist because of him, a point he refuted in the episode you talk about
Power Rangers, a world where no one group is in power too long and the leaders are regular people who are drafted to deal with a specific problem and are replaced periodically.
@@3oct1111 Except the leaders aren't everyday people. They're the mentors (usually hidden figures sometimes in charge of a larger organization) that recruit the power rangers. Zordon, Doggy Krueger, etc. Sometimes those leaders are also rangers but usually not
In her second argument more so, but completely Lex in her first against an alien overload. The Lex comparison also works for her argument about one rich (superhero) in power.
Her argument was that Superman is an all-powerful immortal alien whose motives and future intentions can't be anticipated and that humans have a right to self-determination. _Not_ that he was on a reporter's salary.
In a way, I actually think SUperman was right to take power.. Even Batman doubts at times whether Superman and Wonder Woman now also really do the wrong, by taking control to fight evil. They do not attack religions or politics, but exterminate oppression of women in the Middle East, liberate homosexuals, stop insane civil wars and remove every power of mad dictatorship in the world. (It is also very interesting that Wonder Woman's mother Queen Hippolyta agrees with Superman's decision and supports both him and her daughter in their choice of power to secure the world. For Queen Hippolyra is an impoverished Amazon that does not believe in humanity because of their violent groaning and oppression of women. So maybe such an old and clever person might be a better judge to assess what's best for everyone, not Batman. In addition, it is quite strange that there are no more people who support Superman in his decision. I mean, see what happened to Metropolis! 11000000. People slaughtered in 1 attack from a psychopath that Batman and Gordon could never stop. And who, along with a sea of other killers, constantly resigned from Arkham Asylum. (And then there's the big question about power) Darkseid is as powerful as Superman. Darkseid is a monster, yes. But he has chosen to use his baked to shape his world. Superman chose only to help and never shape his world. But because of it, dead people, wars continued, hate spread, lesbians and gays were persecuted and racism continued. And the people continued to slowly destroy the world. So the Superman dictates the whole fate of The Earth. In one way or another. Now he just takes control, and so people fight for their right to kill each other. So yes ... I would say that people and especially Batwoman = a lesbian - are hypocrite. Because she is fighting a man who rescues homosexuals from being oppressed and persecuted. ----------------- In addition, batman is no longer particularly moral. Even Lex Luthor says that Batman's methods are without honor and that they do not differ much from Superman's philosophy, because neither Batman nor Superman are 'good' people anymore. I mean look at what bats did in year 3 and 4. He poisoned Diana and Clark so they ended up in eternal coma - which is the same as killing them, even more pitifully. In year 3He brought the Greek Gods in to beat supes and because of that just put in another dictator. Remember when zeus shot lightning at every major religieus institute? How many people did that kill? Some may say it wasn't his fault and he was tricked by Ares but Batman still allowed it. He himself knew Ares wasn't to be trusted and he went along with it anyway just to get to supes. Batman's superpower is being the smartest guy in the room, how smart was it to enlist the help of historically most infamous divine dictators (Ares) as back up agaisnt superman, or worse put faith in one of them most Untrustworthy number? Talk about taking a bad situation and putting somthing worse in it's place. Il say it again both Batman and Superman have crossed the line here. ---------------------------- But the Superman is perhaps the one that is most logical because the DC universe is not a universe where humans can survive alone because of monsters like, Joker, Darkseid, Trigon, Ares, Braniac and countless other butchers that never stop. So what is most important? Is it life - that we survive, but without justice = Superman. Or is it justice - millions die, but we think that's right = Batman. Because survival is real. Justice is relative.
Soren is basically apocalypse Katie wants Batman Inc. to rule the world Daniel wants a twisted version of JL earth 2 And Michael wants Parker industries to rule the world
Kinda got a Justice Lord Superman vibe. although to be fair I think I'd be more likely to watch C-SPAN if every time a bill was taking too long Superman comes down and heat visions the offending congressman into a pile of ash. Ratings would definitely skyrocket.
I want Amazons to start ruling stuff. Seriously, they (under WONDER WOMAN, not her mom) have the most Jedi answer to all of our imperial and post-colonial and gendered problems.
What's their problem with good old democracy? I mean, sure, it's messy and complicated and bound to make mistakes. But the same goes for every other form of government, except in a democracy everyone is empowered to do something about it and make things better.
Katie literally just described the plot to the injustice comics... did they do that on purpose? probably, right. This plot line is also explored in the Justice league series, with the Justice Lords. yeah... I'm fun at parties.
Tim Karsanov I at first though they were somehow going to incorporate “Kingdom Come” because Katie said cut to the future, and “what could this Kingdom beCOME?”
It's honestly the only thing on Cracked that I still enjoy. Well, that and OPCD occasionally. I went on the site every day for years, but after a while it seemed like they were getting less funny and more preachy.
Funny thing about Katie's argument against Superman is that he's physically an alien, but him being practically born but literally raised on earth makes him human. Some could even argue that he is biologically human just with mutations that make him stronger and more durable than people.
Mainly scarlet witch who fucks over magneto when he tries to recruit her to help inslave humanity. She turned on the mutants, weekened their powers, and stopped mutant birth for the next hundred years.

You see that's the problem with superheroes that I feel no one ever adresses. They are basically nukes with their own intelligence and free will. We must blindly believe that they are inherently good because if they weren't... oh boy would we be totally screwed!!!!!
Therein lies the problem with superheroes. We fear the powerful will go against us. We want to control them, out of a sense of self-preservation, but if we try, they rebel leading to the very thing we were trying to prevent. Look at Civil War.
That's the whole point of the x men... Not even at a deeper level, it's the message of the entire franchise. They get judged for their powers not for who they are, yes there are some bad nuts but to be honest there are more mutants trying to do good than mutants trying to do bad
No we believe *Superman* is good because he has proved infallibly to be good lots of Superheroes are assholes who switch between being a superhero and a villain if you would even go so far as to draw that line in the first place
Was going to comment about that. Soren's argument is basically the same as "an armed society is a polite society", which gun owners have constantly proven wrong on several occasions.
Pokerface lol like when a muslim extremist tried to kill people in a "draw mohammad" contest and within seconds of trying got shot by 3 gun carriers... i mean lets be honest if you have a gun you instantly deter most criminals
Well, it is a bit different though. Guns can be properly regulated with mandatory training and background checks. There are also limitations to what firearm normal civilian can own. But with superpowers, everyone will have it at a certain point, regardless of your mental health, and the lethality of powers can vary from a pointy rock to 500 hydrogen bombs tied together.
Except criminals have guns, too. The idea that "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun" is patently ridiculous, not the least of which is the definitions of "good guy" and "bad guy". The world is never so black and white, and it's dangerous to try to live that way. And when you really get down to it, how do you tell the good guys from the bad guys on sight? If you see a guy walking towards a school with an MR15 strapped to his back, is he on his way to kill children, or just picking up his daughter from school while exercising his open carry rights?

INSERT USERNAME or was it? Say S man is moral, his morality reigns supreme as the ultimate, and non subjective morality. What happens when he is presented with a hard choice save many or a few, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, of course. But do they really a doctor is one person yet can save many, a scientist has a single mind but can find a cure to save millions, a diplomat is but one person yet he can prevent a war. Any "Objective" morality is inherently flawed any Utilitarian need of the many, ultimately becomes the Totalitarian "need of the people". And we all know how that ends, I'd rather have a committee of flawed immoral humans then one perfect Uber-Mansh. The bible told us do not kill, and yet the world was bathed in blood and fire by the Knights of the cross, and the believers of the Crescent. Morality can be only subjective and only a flawed human not a "god" can grasp it.
Justin Umali Dan's definitely more of a Benevolent Dictator kinda guy. Soren's isn't fascism, but I see it rather as really really hardcore libertarianism mixed with social darwinism. Michael's is meritocracy which devolves in anarchy, and Katie's is like a normal democracy that just gives the executive extra powers and responsibilities (in both cases to punch criminals with impunity).
Justin Umali The superman argument is actually more like a bureaucracy, since in a post-scarcity world controlled by a single government, all you'd need is people to manage it all.
Normally I would agree with the reading of Superman being a benevolent dictator, but the thing is, that narrative totally ignores the fact that Superman is a foreign power subjugating a people he perceives to be weaker and unable to rule themselves. That's Western colonialism. The fact that he's doing it for reasons he perceives to be "benevolent" is inconsequential; Superman is a foreign invader, an imperialist, and Dan tacitly approves of this, partly because he benefits from this system, and partly because he is blind to the fact that he is talking of imperialism.
Justin Umali But imperialism was only bad because the people who did it were bad, and Dan O'Brien specifically argues that Superman is incorruptibly good. Don't forget that tens of millions of people are probably slightly better off today because of western colonialism (billions if you count WWI), it's just that it did a lot of bad things at the time. Superman isn't racist, and he doesn't need to exploit humans in order to improve the world. Destruction of all large weapons, altering the climate through some kind of strength/speed thingy, and he could spend the rest of his days fighting militants and generating infinite power. People would still have prejudices, and there'd be disputes over resources (which he'd solve), but in a couple of hundred years we'd easily have a utopian society. And nobody even had to die.
"What about Iron Man?" That pretty much combines the Batman and Spider-man arguments but without the need for anonymity. Bruce Wayne, billionaire playboy genius inventor detective ninja, keeps his identity a secret. Tony Stark, genius billionaire playboy philanthropist, is out as Iron Man, meaning he wastes no energy on keeping his vigilantism a secret and he can actually capitalize on the inventions he uses to fight evil, the people close to him know what they're getting into being friends with a superhero, and he can be held accountable for his actions by the public and other superheroes.
Not really, in my hero academia they live with normal people and work with them. they don't try and rule over them, it is more if Charles got his way. There is even a registration for people with powers, which is against what Mageneto wants for mutants.
Gary Chief how? it is stated that saitama was the hero who caused the rise of the hero asscociation before him life was pretty ordinary. not alot of people have powers in the one punch man universe, where as in my hero academia 80% of the population has powers. and when/where did saitama get the one for all power?
Daniel: "Superman is incorruptably good!" 90% of Superman storylines in comics and movies: *Superman gets corrupted in some way and someone needs to get him back to how he was*
The Harley Quinn cartoon was right by making him a lovable himbo/loving but kinda embarrassing uncle which also I want them to add his son!!! Imagine the cute stories they can write!!! I want embarrassing father Clark!!!!
I mean, that’s the poetic irony of it. When we hate something enough, we become exactly that through our hatred. That’s why we value love, forgiveness, and humility over hatred, vengeance, and arrogance. Or at least, that’s why we should value them more.
Arguable at best. Mutants aren’t like normal ethic groups where the only thing separating them from the rest of the population is their appearance and upbringing. They are verifiably superior to normal humans in every way genetically. A frankly easy argument could be made that Magneto can see the writing on the wall and figures that pushing the humans off to the side will probably be better for their safety. It’s like normal discrimination, but if the oppressed were able to make things explode with their minds. And by that point, humanity would have screwed itself by trying to convince living nukes they had no rights and were freaks of nature. Magneto just wants to speed up the evolution process so that less people get traumatized, and more humans can live.
@@goroakechi6126 Not every way. They're more powerful, but their intelligence, moral character and strength of will seem pretty normal to me. Besides, mutants usually show up in universes with other superhumans of similar power levels but different sources.

My superpower would be the ability to make the best possible decision in any situation. Kinda like precognition but you get to choose which future you want to exist in.
The worst part of the X-men ruled universe is that most powers will inevitably be weak in comparison with others. Like one guy can telekineticly lift some small stones while someone else has the same powers but it's enough to lift a house. It's pretty much random who's in charge. Also we know that breeding for powers doesn't work since magneto's kids don't have magnet powers, instead one is really fast and the other ... i don't really get what scarlet witch does but my point still stands
This video was uploaded like 5 years ago and I just want to say that for the last five years I haven't been able to hear the word Magneto without immediately thinking "First Magneto is right because he kills nazis with flying daggers"

7billion humans each with nuclear level superpower, we disagree about everything even what restaurant to go eat. The planet would lost by the end of the day.
I always wonder if Soren and Daniel's dialog is shot at a separate time than Katie's and Michaels because you never see Soren and Katie or dan and Michael interact, and vice versa, maybe they've never actually seen each other, because they're never in the same shot...
Older videos have them getting face to face. Also the outtakes at the end of several videos shows them laughing at each other flubbing their lines. So its likely they are sitting together but the side to side shot is just easier to film and since normally each has their own views it works. Also the Jock/Nerd and Hot Girl/Creepy Guy thing is kind of in consideration I believe.
They basically film it twice at different camera angels. Once with the cam on Soren and Dan' side and once with the cam on Katie and Michael's side. So that way the dialogue can still flow as they film it.
Well, it depends. In those comics where they presuppose that Superman is fallible just like an ordinary human, then Superman would not make a good leader. However, under the premise of a Superman that is *infallible* which was more prevalent in older comics, then Daniel's point rings true.
this is one of the things that annoy me because of injustice story arc superman is easy to corrupt & never point out that the one most likely to be corrupted is batman talk about shit storm
+Oscar Alvarez I like to think that since Injustice is an alternate universe, Superman isn't necessarily the same guy as he is in mainline continuity, they don't show any evidence of this, but it's not hard to believe even the slightest incident could alter him without anyone realizing. Also, as for Batman, I blame the fanboys.
I've already watched every single after hours episodr with this original cast. I'm just here doing it all over again because it's that good. I wish they would all get back together
There is a single superpower which, if everyone had it, would result in a true utopia. Empathy. If everyone had true empathy, there would be no conflict. If you could feel the harm that you were inflicting on someone else as if it were happening to you, you would stop. If world leaders felt the oppression that they imposed on their people; felt their people's hunger pangs their greed caused; felt the burning, agonizing deaths of the people they killed - there would be an instant worldwide peace. If corporate executives could feel the sorrow and stress and pain that their greed caused, everyone would be paid a livable wage. If people felt every blow struck, felt the sorrow of loved ones left behind, felt the violation of their victims - there would be no crime. Even ideological conflicts would resolved without the harm we have now. There would be an understanding that, despite not agreeing, we are each doing what we believe is right. That our differences of opinion aren't a result of stupidity or malice, but simply of a difference of experience. If you realize that the person sitting across from you is just like you in all the ways that count, you'll be more inclined to listen, and to seek compromise. The world would reach a state of harmonious balance where everyone has what they need and no one is trying to harm someone else to get ahead.
Empathy has it's own problems though. Because sure, you feel all the pain you caused, but at the same time, you also feel all the hatred people feel towards those responsible. Everyone would feel it. Hate is an unbelievably powerful emotion. You're approaching this from the aspect of only world leaders had the empathy to feel the pain their people are going through, but imagine if someone on the street could feel the pain and anger of someone whose husband was shot by the police because they thought he was a criminal just because of his skin color? If everyone could feel everyone else's pain, then they would feel the anger and frustration that pain causes. You say no crime, I say bullSHIT no crime! YES crime! Human beings are already easily swayed by their own emotions. If everyone in the world felt all the emotions of everyone else in the world, then emotional restraint would topple like dominos. People getting swept up in protests and anger? Imagine the entire planet feeling anger and suffering towards the people they view responsible for their own hardships. Suffering is not a manmade occurrence. Everyone working together to achieve world peace would get it- for as long as it took until a drunk driver kills someone on accident. And then anger and frustration begins to take hold of that person's loved ones, and everyone feels all of that. Your beliefs might stop intentional acts of cruelty and suffering, but accidents happen and people want someone to blame. It's a GOOD thing we can't feel everyone's pain, because if we did, humanity would turn into an angry mob looking to exact vengeance upon the next person we feel is responsible for our pain.
Hands down, the best government to live under is Doctor Doom's. Sure, the leader is slightly unpopular with the rest of the world, but nobody short of immortal cosmic entities would willingly fuck with Latveria because DOOM REIGNS SUPREME! Plus, I hear his country has universal healthcare, and it covers everything, including mystical curses.
i think in the MCU Doom's country is actually the best place to live, and Doom was nominated for the Peace Nobel (dont ask how i know this, it's random facts), so yeah sign me up for Latveria any day!
Actually you're right since Latveria is one of the closest things to a utopian country. Top tier education, defense, and health care. Plus Doombots roam the streets so everyone is constantly policed by an unbiased bulletproof machine. And the President is an immortal technologically genius sorcerer who can defend the country with his own two hands without even having to resort to his army of robots and soldiers and his nuclear arsenal. Only problem is the occasional invasion invasion by the Avengers and Fantastic 4.
Walter Kovacs, That Latverian Utopia sounds like a dystopia the writers haven't gotten around to exploring. Automated drones roaming the streets "unbiasedly" enforcing the laws divined by a mentally unstable wizard tyrant. Education basically just forcefed propaganda. Health care only so that you can continue contributing to Dr Doom's master plans. Your entire country is basically just a game of SIMs or civilization to the all-powerful sociopath running it.

"Maybe you can't trust humans at all and expect a good outcome..."
This hits hard in 2020.
And every other year since the dawn of humans inventing governments.
This is why I vote for technocracy. Rule by true artificial intelligence!!!
Hits even harder in 2021.
Oh boy, you are going to love 2021! :D
You're gonna love 2022...
The writing on these is just spectacular, even rewatching these years after they aired.
So...
Katie = Lex Luthor
Soren = Magneto
Michael = Doc Ock
Dan = Zod
I'd say Katie is more of a Ra's Al Ghul or Court of Owls
In her second argument more so, but completely Lex in her first against an alien overload. The Lex comparison also works for her argument about one rich (superhero) in power.
So her argument was that Sups was on a reporter's salary.
In all seriousness, her estimation was WAY off about Superman
(And then there's the big question about power)
Darkseid is as powerful as Superman.
-----------------
In addition, batman is no longer particularly moral.
----------------------------
But the Superman is perhaps the one that is most logical because the DC universe is not a universe where humans can survive alone because of monsters like, Joker, Darkseid, Trigon, Ares, Braniac and countless other butchers that never stop.
So what is most important?
Is it life - that we survive, but without justice = Superman.
Or is it justice - millions die, but we think that's right = Batman.
Because survival is real. Justice is relative.
Soren is basically apocalypse
Katie wants Batman Inc. to rule the world
Daniel wants a twisted version of JL earth 2
And Michael wants Parker industries to rule the world
Daniel seemed more superman red son to me
Kinda got a Justice Lord Superman vibe. although to be fair I think I'd be more likely to watch C-SPAN if every time a bill was taking too long Superman comes down and heat visions the offending congressman into a pile of ash. Ratings would definitely skyrocket.
I want Amazons to start ruling stuff. Seriously, they (under WONDER WOMAN, not her mom) have the most Jedi answer to all of our imperial and post-colonial and gendered problems.
Noah Grayson injustice comic series
What's their problem with good old democracy? I mean, sure, it's messy and complicated and bound to make mistakes. But the same goes for every other form of government, except in a democracy everyone is empowered to do something about it and make things better.
"I'm not even sweatin' it. Slaughter the Humans, it's fine." lol
Katie literally just described the plot to the injustice comics... did they do that on purpose? probably, right.
This plot line is also explored in the Justice league series, with the Justice Lords. yeah... I'm fun at parties.
Lana G I noticed that too.
The "band of plucky humans" line made me thing of The Boys instead.
Tim Karsanov I at first though they were somehow going to incorporate “Kingdom Come” because Katie said cut to the future, and “what could this Kingdom beCOME?”
But Michael wanted a good superman doing it instead
I love after hours so much, been watching since 2013 and it's still just as good as ever!
Thanks!

It's honestly the only thing on Cracked that I still enjoy. Well, that and OPCD occasionally. I went on the site every day for years, but after a while it seemed like they were getting less funny and more preachy.
anyone else miss these guys every few years or so?
I miss them wverytime im glad youtube still recommends them to me. I almost memorized their dialogue
why did they cancel this show? you can't really trust humans afterall hahaha
"You want to live in the midst of a brewing race war? 'Cause I got good news for you..."
One of the best lines in After Hours imo.
1:11
Have any of you guys played injustice? That’s basically evil superman as a dictator
Or the Justice Lords arc in the animated series.
The Injustice comics have a better story..
Funny thing about Katie's argument against Superman is that he's physically an alien, but him being practically born but literally raised on earth makes him human. Some could even argue that he is biologically human just with mutations that make him stronger and more durable than people.
with Soren's mutant universe you would also have to deal with reality warping mutants
Time Travelers, weather manipulators, animal talkers, etc.
Mainly scarlet witch who fucks over magneto when he tries to recruit her to help inslave humanity. She turned on the mutants, weekened their powers, and stopped mutant birth for the next hundred years.
Yeah, Franklin Richards and Matthew Malloy just ruin his argument. They are basically God.
I found these a little after my dads passing and I won't lie... It helped me through a dark time. I don't get to watch movies with my family anymore and when I watched these it brought back great memories and also opened me up to new things. I just wished they never stopped and fired everyone.. I wish they would do these on their own. Miss these after hours.
All these years later and After Hours is still one of the best and funniest things on the internets! Thanks team!
kingdom come Flash , he is so fast that nobody even notices crime in the town because he stops it so fast. bam, perfect city (till he dies , but the speed force is some bullshit so its probably fine).

Superman may technically be an alien but he was raised here in Kansas by a kind loving couple and is essentially the most human out of all of us.
Yeah and good fucking thing because if he wasn't we'd all be fucked. He'd be like Homelander except able to destroy the planet in an instant if he wanted to and we'd all be forced to bow to his every whim unless we wanted to die horribly. Every world government would be forced to surrender to him.

You get it….
I’m not sure that Kansas is the most human place on earth. The place is basically one big cornfield with some weird churches in between
You see that's the problem with superheroes that I feel no one ever adresses.
No we believe *Superman* is good because he has proved infallibly to be good lots of Superheroes are assholes who switch between being a superhero and a villain if you would even go so far as to draw that line in the first place
uhm, but if they do evil things, then they're just super villains which the super heroes need to confront.
At the point that we're totally screwed, we just call them super villians and point the nearest super hero in their direction.
*The show I subbed cracked for*.
*4 of my people talking*.

WHEN DID SHE BECOME A PERFECT TEN STUNNER, WTF!!??
Yeah, it was 2 years ago, BUT I LOVE KATIE'S HAIR IN THIS.
Girl, you rocked that look. Just sayin'.
Respectfully disagree
Aye, she's a bonnie lass 😊
The mutant section reminds me of the argument on guns.
Was going to comment about that. Soren's argument is basically the same as "an armed society is a polite society", which gun owners have constantly proven wrong on several occasions.
huh. that's so weird. i wonder if they realized that when they wrote it.

Nope! Just freelancing as usual.
I will never stop re-watching these.
well according to logan, all it takes to topple a mutant oligarchy is corn syrup. 25 years of mutant killing corn syrup
Was that what it was? They couldn't conceive more mutants because corn syrup made them infertile? Dang.
Jonny Lupus The gmo corn syrup controlled the genes to within regular human bounds
I guess i just figured the cure from X-Men: The Last Stand worked a little too well in the alternate timeline.
Imagine trying to fill your taxes in the X-men or Spiderman universe... You think filing them sucks *now* try when the government changes on a dime.
Don't do taxes. Just have them be collected by the government with every purchase, and forget about April 15th.
But.... magneto WAS right. If mutants didnt fight, they would have wound up in the same position as he had been in WW2
Unless Xavier got his psychic head out of his ass and used even the most subtle suggestions to not only end anti mutant slavery, but racism, sexism and other -isms, or did anything in the political spectrum that actually aids his own cause. Instead we have the current fact that you are right magneto is the most correct option as his opposition does nothing actually positive with all the literal abilities to do so
@@HovektheArtist xavier dowfall is his pacifism, he thinks he do not need to control people, if he was more than just mutant ( like black or female) he problably would do that

And we all know how that ends, I'd rather have a committee of flawed immoral humans then one perfect

The bible told us do not kill, and yet the world was bathed in blood and fire by the Knights of the cross, and the believers of the Crescent.

Dan is a colonial imperialist
Soren is a fascist
Katie is a social democrat
Michael is an anarchist.
Did I get that right?
Justin Umali +
Superman being in charge means the injustice universe comes to fruition and look how well that acted out
"What about Iron Man?"
That pretty much combines the Batman and Spider-man arguments but without the need for anonymity.
I never thought about it til now, but the anime 'My Hero Academia' is pretty much the X-men universe if Magneto got his way.
Or One Punch Man, which is the exact same world in my opinion.
Tribal2199 +
the one punch man world is decades after Academia, Saitama got 'one for all' after it has grown even stonger.

Well. That was... kinda depressing... Yup.
Humanity does suck.
I love this series with a passion.
I love how magneto hates nazis then does exactly what the nazis did
I mean, that’s the poetic irony of it.
Magneto just wants to speed up the evolution process so that less people get traumatized, and more humans can live.
true to life, just look at how Israel treats Palestinians

My superpower would be the ability to make the best possible decision in any situation. Kinda like precognition but you get to choose which future you want to exist in.
The worst part of the X-men ruled universe is that most powers will inevitably be weak in comparison with others. Like one guy can telekineticly lift some small stones while someone else has the same powers but it's enough to lift a house. It's pretty much random who's in charge. Also we know that breeding for powers doesn't work since magneto's kids don't have magnet powers, instead one is really fast and the other ... i don't really get what scarlet witch does but my point still stands
And then there's freaking Legion who can just delete the universe

Only a very small minority of mutants are that powerful. Most of them just have wings or are really hard to kill.
The planet would be lo...
the movie Forbidden Planet.
Daniel arguing for a dictatorship is the funniest thing ever considering he’s a writer on last week tonight
Pretty sure I remember Soren and Katie getting all worked up about batman and making out lol
They basically film it twice at different camera angels. Once with the cam on Soren and Dan' side and once with the cam on Katie and Michael's side. So that way the dialogue can still flow as they film it.
"Superman is incorruptibly good"
>Injustice; proof that the Joker can corrupt ANYONE
... which is what makes it a lousy, lazy Superman story.
@@TJStellmach Yes, I agree with that now. I was a sheep three years ago, clearly.
"Don't you want to see what we can make of ourselves on our own?"
No, I think I've seen enough already.
If you can't trust humans, that just proves Daniel's point that Superman (as an alien) is the best choice! :)
Well, it depends. In those comics where they presuppose that Superman is fallible just like an ordinary human, then Superman would not make a good leader. However, under the premise of a Superman that is *infallible* which was more prevalent in older comics, then Daniel's point rings true.
Cause things worked out swimmingly for krypton.....
this is one of the things that annoy me because of injustice story arc superman is easy to corrupt & never point out that the one most likely to be corrupted is batman talk about shit storm
Yes and, in a way, it's what we have been doing since forever with religion but this time, the god is real and tangible.

The world would reach a state of harmonious balance where everyone has what they need and no one is trying to harm someone else to get ahead.
cryofpaine And lo, the masochists would finally rule us all.
@TheAgentJesus - I'd rather be ruled by a masochist than the sadists we have ruling us now.
cryofpaine eyooo!!

The whole "everyone has a power" thing is basically the anime Boku no Hero Academia.
Close, but not everyone there develops powers, including the protagonist himself. xD
I really miss these guys
Hands down, the best government to live under is Doctor Doom's. Sure, the leader is slightly unpopular with the rest of the world, but nobody short of immortal cosmic entities would willingly fuck with Latveria because DOOM REIGNS SUPREME! Plus, I hear his country has universal healthcare, and it covers everything, including mystical curses.
Steven Davidson sad part is that's true 😂😂
i think in the MCU Doom's country is actually the best place to live, and Doom was nominated for the Peace Nobel (dont ask how i know this, it's random facts), so yeah sign me up for Latveria any day!
it's also been stated on several occasions that doom cares deeply about his people.
No Sokovia Accords mention? I feel like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is covering part of this topic now
Watching old After Hours over and over while rocking back and forth and reciting them off by heart...
The ability to control claws with my mind.
That's a stupid power. You're stupid.
*Claws fly out of nowhere and stab me through the face*
You guys are THE BEST! After Hours is always classy and hilarious.
Soren's not actually saying Magneto is right, he's saying Appocalypse is right
So glad Katie is sticking with that hair for now
You guys should totally do a Rick and Morty episode.
they totally should!!!!! 0.0
Back to the Future comes up a lot on After Hours, a Rick & Morty topic is inevitable.
+game master Closer to chaotic neutral. He does stuff he wants, regardless of consequence, but he doesn't necessarily do it with intent to harm.
They forcibly imposed *their* order on the earth Rick stopping them could be seen as maintaining the Earth's own natural sense of order. On the surface he did it for his own reasons but we do know there were others on earth that wanted the federation gone and the Ricks labeled him a traitor and were trying to kill him and convict Morty and Summer.
He is chaotic neutral because he is opposed to order and control of all forms of morality and he does want he wants, also regardless of the morality. He also just enough of a moral code not to be evil
I occasionally come back to watch this series again
rest in peace
What Soren wants is My Hero Academia!!!
*BOOM!*
