    Nadal is one of a kind. Looks like he was born ready. It’s pretty rare to see someone with such personality and self-awareness.

    I am a Novak Djokovic supporter, but I can't deny the greatness of Rafael Nadal. Nadal has been battling injuries since he was 19 years old. He missed practice sessions, matches, and many things that life has to offer due to injuries. Despite all that, he won 22 GSs. Imagine what he would have achieved had he not suffered that many injuries.

    people who say they don't see Nadal in Alcaraz are crazy. Their techniques might not be similar but their tenacity and court coverage are.

    • @nate9198
      @nate9198 Рік тому +6

      Yes the aggression and heavy topspin for sure. But Alcaraz can hit both spin and flat, plus can lob and drop shot. He is also coming to the net and volleying early in his career. Nadal was very much a baseliner most of his career, Alcaraz I would say has more variety in his game. Granted, I don't think anyone will ever be as good as Nadal on clay, not even Alcaraz. But across all surfaces, Alcaraz has the potential to win many slams and challenge the GOAT's legacy if he remains fit and injury free for the next 15 years.

      Don't compare alcaraz with great rafa ..He can't be equal to rafa achievements in tennis..Rafa at age 19 defeated prime fed in semis and won 11 titles but alcaraz played Ruud in US Open to win his first slam ..Rafa has many unbreakable clay streak in teenage years but alcaraz is losing to guys like sinner ,norrie, newbie in Rome etc. There are many stats which says alcaraz achievements are not enough to compare with rafa ..don't fool yourself

      @@nate9198the main reason of alcaraz success because he has no rivals in his era compared to big 3 era ..sinner ,Ruud , Tsitsipas Zverev are struggling to win a slam but rafa , Djokovic,fed played many slam finals with many 5 setter victories and toughest losses

    Nadal had 17 titles or something before 20 including hard court masters and made wimbledon finals only to lose to prime Federer but some casuals want to tell me that Alcaraz at his age is "more complete"

      @AinSoph73 Рік тому

      Bruh if you can’t see the difference in the level of play that it takes to hold two majors at the age of 20 from 2006 to now then it doesn’t matter what anyone says to you. Alcaraz beat the guy in front of him - just as good if not better than Federer - in his first Wimbledon final; Nadal did not. The claim is legit.

      @@AinSoph73 Djokovic better on grass than mid 20s Federer ? And Novak didn't even play USO2022.

    • @AinSoph73
      @AinSoph73 Рік тому +1

      @@hardwarenoob0815 We will never arrive anywhere meaningful if I give a yes or no answer to that question - all I can say is that it’s reasonable to suggest so; if you disagree that’s also reasonable.
      Alcaraz beat a who’s who of in-form talent to win USO2022 despite not facing Djokovic. Nadal also dismissed premier talent for his first major, but the standard is arguably higher now.
      Overall, my point is that its absurd to dismiss someone as a “casual” because they note Alcaraz uses a significantly deeper bag of tricks to win matches than Nadal did when he was the same age.

    • @puul6303
      @puul6303 Рік тому +8

      Well you clearly don't understand what people mean when they describe Alcaraz as "more complete". Nadal's game was and still is adapted primarily to clay due to his powerful baseline game where he controls rallies with his high, looping, lefty forehand. Extremely talented of course but didn't get to where his net game is now until much later in his career, as well as his serve and shot variety. Alcaraz has improved his serve massively (still a long way to go), has incredible shot variety and also has a very solid net game at the age of 20, hence being "more complete". The vast majority of titles that Nadal won prior to being 21 were mostly clay with a few hard courts sprinkled in, whereas Alcaraz has titles on all three surfaces. The proof is in the pudding.

    Interesting how they both had the same first versions of Babolat Pure Drives called Soft Drive. If I recall it was Moya who introduced these to Nadal and other Spanish players in 1994 when Pierre Babolat went from just a stringing company(the oldest) to also a racquet company. Curious to know what exact strings they were both using even though Moya and Nadal mostly used RPMs. Looks like Hurricane strings for Nadal which he was using for ages.

    2024. Today I watched Nadal play 16-year old Blanch on Tennis TV - and credit to the kid for taking a game off Rafa in Madrid. I had forgotten about 16-year old Rafa. 🤣Not comparing at all, b/c it would be unfair, but love this reminder of a genius child prodigy on display. Having all the shots at 16 is impressive enough, but as the commentator said, to have the tactical awareness and shot selection under pressure is mind blowing. Funny that Rafa had such a man grunt even at 16 -- that hasn't changed at all. 🤣
