Fun fact: Rick Derringer who played guitar with Edgar and Johnny Winter and many others plays on “Show Biz Kids” on Countdown (He also played on Gaucho and Nightfly). But ... He claims that Donald gave him his phone number years ago and said “Ricky, don’t lose that number.” While the song, “Rikki Don’t Lose that Number” is not about him, he claims he inspired the title. 😎😉✨🤪
They forgot about a song "Sign In Stranger" that is a joy, with a predominance of an excellent piano. I congratulate you for playing the music of one of my favorite groups. Saludos
Yes. And two years later, into your 14th year, may you both live long and fruitful lives and have so many more celebrations together. Both fortunately and unfortunately, I just turned 68 yesterday and so, I don’t know how many more of of your anniversaries I’ll get to see, but I hope a lot. And a lot more video reactions. I heard the track Deacon Blues on the car radio in 1977 and I was instantly hooked, I bought Aja the next day. I bought all the prior albums within 2 weeks. I was 18, I'm now 62 and still listen to them most days. I'm enjoying watching you repeat my own voyage of discovery.
I bought AJA in Sept 77 the year it was released, I was 18 also! Small world, still my favorite band always! Soon I after I went to buy a stereo set, and the guy pull,s out a copy of AJA to demonstrate the system, how hip and cool!😮😮😊
As a guitar player I get the Royal Scam preference, I feel the exact same way. Also, I think your Pink Floyd analogy was closer than you think---its the relentless pursuit of perfection while, at all times, remaining musical. Btw, count me as one of the folks who kept pushing the genus of Steely Dan, cheers!! Ps Dead-on regarding the NYC vibe!!! The song is about Puerto Rican immigrants coming to NYC..."They rolled in from the city of St John without a dime..."
That final track will always remind me of the cool streets in San Juan, Puerto Rico at night. I was on vacation there when I discovered Steely Dan, and this album I fell in love with instantly. It's my favorite work of art. That trumpet solo in the scam reminds me of the stray cats lurking around at night, looking for food. So vivid. This album is sacred.
Fez is the ultimate Dan tango tune from this album (preparing you for Goucho) Got to love that muted trumpet.... A whole New York vibe hangs over the "Royal Scam", the back allies, watching it all go by from a Checker cab. The movement of our heads is actually Dan's music making all of us into NY pigeons ..... Hahaha! Goucho... Well you will love it.
Really glad you started with The Fez- I think of it as SD's answer to the popular disco of the time, with their own quirky twist. Not deep lyrics, but funny instead. Royal Scam is just epic, no doubt about it. Always thought it was brilliant that they opened and closed the song with the same line (besides the chorus, of course!.) The solo trumpet in both R and L channels is the great Chuck Findley. So glad you enjoyed both cuts- we Dan-heads sure enjoy watching you experience them for the first time!! Love you guys!❤️❤️
The funniest part on the Two Against Nature DVD is when they ask the girl standing in line her favorite SD song, and she says "Year of the Cat"... and her boyfriend says, um, no, that's not Steely Dan.
Right! I remember that! And like Lex said: the two young girls who said everyone at their concert was bopping their heads in unison. And, Walter and Donald trying to hear the shade about what musicians are “mad” at them. And the music - the vocals, keys, backup singers, the guitar, bass, horn section and drums - delicious 🤤
Love it! And totally agree with Nick - Royal Scam is that wonderful transition between early 70s SD and the almost overwhelming perfection of Aja. Have really been enjoying your ongoing discovery of this great band.
Aja, Gaucho, and Royal Scam are my three favorite Dan albums, but you will find that ALL of the albums have great stuff on them. Looking forward to every Dan reaction (and every other reaction as well), you guys are the funnest couple!
Just got off work and am late to the PARTY! Been waiting for soooo long to hear your reaction to "The Fez" . So glad you got to these two tunes. I remember when this album came out (Yes I'm Old) and have been obsessed with this darker side of S.D. Thanks for holding off for so long . And, of course, Happy, Happy Anniversary! My girl and I came together over this album So, It's our Anny as well...We Love You Guys, Just know there will be there will become a day when you will stop annualizing S.D... Start enjoying this SOUND/FRAME because this music was meant for ALL OF US ...Love You Guys,
You have no idea what it means to me when I watch and listen to you both gushing about Steely Dan . I've been a fan since their 1st album came out in 1972 and still to this day marvel at how amazing they truly were/are. I can't compare them to any other band. I'll be 70 yrs old next month and Steely Dan is still played in my house and I enjoy them just as much. LOVE your hair Lex. 😎
Nick & Lex - what an interesting combination. The Fez - a song which is basically an instrumental and the The Royal Scam which is Steely Dan's most interesting "story" song. Very interesting combination. Know you didn't choose this order, but it is serendipity. The guys can't do anything wrong. Thanks for loving Steely Dan as much as I do. Ken
So pleased you guys completed the whole Royal Scam album now. I've listened to the title track countless times but still manage to hear something extra every time. Its one of their most magical tracks and totally unique. Glad you enjoyed it too.
Later this year will mark 50 years since the first Steely Dan release, "Can't Buy A Thrill", which was one of the first albums I bought as a kid. Half a century and the Dan catalog never gets old. Your "how can every song be so good?" reactions are totally unsurprising. You shouldn't be surprised to find there's more of that goodness to come. Looking forward to seeing/hearing you react to the Pretzel Logic title track... a Dan twist on the blues and some of Walter's greatest guitar work.
I came to USA in 1973.....Steely Dan...was...........Do it again....Great song....now I take your young view.......from the Band.....excelent job..............
I’m so excited for you both taking this journey down the Steely Dan rabbit hole 🕳🐇. Im very anxious for you to get to my all time favorite Dan song which is “Pretzel Logic”. I last saw Steely Dan in 1994 in Pittsburgh. It was an outdoor venue, and the show was amazing. They were so well rehearsed, it was like listening to the album, but with a live visual. “I stepped upon the platform The man gave me the news He said you must be joking son Where did you get those shoes” ❤️✌🏼😎
Their approach to music is so CORRECT. They took the time in studio to perfect each bar, each note. I can't say enough about Fagen's 'Everyman' voice. He wrote the stories of each characterization so masterfully, making them unforgettable and equal to the music! Fagen and Becker were intellectuals and lived in the highest expressions of American music.
!2 years is a great run and you two have many more coming together. You two were meant to be and we all appreciate having you in our lives. Congratulations and we are all looking foward to what you have next for us.
Hi Nick & Lex, Mark here from across the pond. The Dan have been my favourite group for over 50 years. Loving your videos and enjoy your new found love for The Dan ❤️ Keep’m coming. Take care and keep the faith 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great review. I've been listening to Steely Dan since High School (LOL)! Great band. Can't wait for you to do a review of "Reein' In the Years" (1972 album: Can't Buy a Thrill). Guitar World Magazine ranked the solo (by Elliot Randall) as the 40th best guitar solo of all time.
Happy Anniversary to you both ! What a great way to celebrate by releasing the balance of “Royal Scam” two days later ! It will be really fun for you to just “drop the needle” and listen from beginning to end! I’ll echo other comments who name “Countdown To Ecstasy” as my favorite if I had to name one … but whichever album I’m currently listening to seems to be my favorite. Not a bad tune ever ! First Fagen solo is up on top as well. Great to find more Dan Fans on UA-cam ! KEEP BOPPING to SD … means you’re genuinely becoming one with the music …You guys are the best!!! Here’s to many years of reactions to come.. “cheers y’all” !
That and Pretzel Logic are probably my over all favorites. They are the only real "band" records. I'd like to see them do Any Major Dude, Night by Night, Monkey in Your Soul, Razor Boy, Showbiz Kids, Boston Rag, or Bodhisattva.
@@frankmarsh1159 Yes! What HE said ⬆️ ! Both Countdown and Pretzel Logic have gems yet to be discovered. And that list of songs - I approve this comment! Haha, jk.
countdown is my favorite too! 1. countdown to ecstasy 2. gaucho 3. can't buy a thrill 4. the royal scam 5. aja 6. pretzel logic 7. katy lied 8. two against nature 9. everything must go
I saw them immediately after they released Countdown at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas with Elton John and som other English band. Skunk Baxter blew me away.
The “Illegal Fun” is Strong with this video! May the Dan be always with you! Haha 😛 So glad you can let this whole album play now ... and the other 2 tracks are good too. I think 🤔 with the Two Against Nature DVD, you can choose a Dolby or DTS surround sound in the settings to help improve the quality. And please feel free to bop your heads, play air instruments, interrupt to comment - we love that. It’s a Great day when we get a Steely Dan marathon. Thanks so much! “Countdown to Ecstasy” and “Pretzel Logic” are great albums too. And Fagen’s solo stuff. You still have diamonds 💎 to mine. Lol. Great reaction!
@@mikeminer1947 Agreed. But ...People may disagree with how many songs they should already know. My opinion is maybe “Bad Sneakers” and “Pretzel Logic” could be reactions before viewing the DVD. Others like Cousin Dupree, Janie Runaway, Gaslighting Abbie, What a Shame About Me can be heard live for the first time? Only because there’s limited time. But I think they’ll watch on their own. Although, it was fun to hear their thoughts about what they watched.
I'm guessing there are a number of people who think you should have experienced the Dan starting with album 1, then on to #2 and so forth.. The way you're doing it, however, makes sense to me. Now you get to observe their progression, having experienced their peak. You being a musician, that should be fun!
🤔 First time had to be 'Reelin in the Years' on AM 📻 Radio in the kitchen baking Cookies with my Grandma.🥰 She loved her Abba, Sonny & Cher and 5th Dimension. 😞 RIP Nana & her baked goods. 😌🐰
"The Barbarian" is coming, you know you want ELP, first song ever on the first album. It's driving you hard, slashing into your mind with brut force. Play it, PLAY IT!!!!!!!
If they took the pebble, and wanted to go FULL Barbarian . . . they can then take a Fates Warning, in search of "Fata Morgana" . . . Morgana: Your eyes never leave me, Merlin. Merlin: Can't I acknowledge beauty? Morgana: Can't you acknowledge... love? Perhaps you ache for what you've never known. Merlin: Perhaps you lust for what you cannot have.
Royal Scam. Very epic, cinematic song with lots of subtle touches about the Puerto Rican immigration experience to NYC and the subsequent “lie” that all was paved with gold. St. John = San Juan.
Hey Nick & Lex, You're taking me back to my childhood & to the beginning of my preteen years to the start of my teen years from ''75-79 and The Dan was a great part to get me through the good & the bad times and both The Royal Scam & Aja was a part of that musical soundtrack and I'm so glad that you are enjoying them and congrats again on your 12th. year as a couple and many more years to you!! Hope to hear from you soon!! Thanks & Keep Rockin'!!, Walter -
Great stuff folks. Please don't miss 'Third World Man' off Gaucho. I want to see the looks on Nick's face listening to Larry Carlton's very special guitar work. I enjoy your video's very much.
One of those tracks that just creeps up on you and then just takes over and you are more or less in a trance riding along with the brilliance until the journey ends.
This song is EAR CANDY, period. I get to absorbed into the multi layers of sounds that I overlook the lyrics. This tune is so complex. It's pure joy to listen to it expecially with headphones on. You two are doing a great job in reacting to songs like this. It's a treat to watch you and see how much you are getting into The Dan. Take care....
Thank you for your insight on one of the most unique bands I have ever heard due to the complexity of their lyrics, chords, harmonies and rhythm. Steely Dan is a generational band. My grandparents are fans as are my parents. The Royal Scam is my favorite album, of theirs as is their first album Can't Buy A Thrill.
Hi guys, I love you guys! I've been subscribed and watching your reactions since pretty much the beginning. Always a thumbs up... keep up the great work! - Brooklyn Mike
If your taste is more in the Royal Scam vein than in the Aja/Gaucho realm, then you'll probably like Countdown to Ecstasy the most (it's my favorite SD album). As usual, always a pleasure to see your reactions!! ¡Cuídense estimadísimos!
I had 2nd row center stage seats on their return to the road back in the 90’s...in Portland @ the 🌹 Rose Garden. I’ve seen so many bands but nothing can wear the greatness banner any better than Steely Dan. Saw then in the early 70’s and then twenty years later. Thank you Lord!
The best session band you will ever ever hear ... some great dope smoked in the 70s listening to the Dan ....I still listen to them love them .. My old School .. Black Cow 🐄
SD concerts are almost a religious experience - the audience is so connected to the music together - if you're not bobbing your head you're not a DANfan!
Congratulations on your anniversary. I have absolutely no doubt you will have many more. A beautiful couple. Thanks for taking the time to share your love of music.
Hi! Thank you for doing these ones! I recommend after you finish all of the Steely Dan regular albums that you check out some of the songs from “The Lost Gaucho” which is a series of demos that were never released for many different reasons. Songs like Kulee Baba and The Second Arrangement are some of my favorites.
Awesome! I’m glad you finished and can now listen to your hearts desire. I don’t think I would’ve ever been able to hear one Steely Dan song and then not play the rest of the album immediately and continue playing it until the next one came out. Looking forward to hearing your reactions to the earlier albums. I’m still gonna put in a suggestion of doing a marathon of countdown to ecstasies your gold teeth and Katie lied your gold teeth 2. I think that would be a funky jazz inspired throw down marathon. It would be Different takes on a similar musical idea, with very different outcomes. I also think you’re going to enjoy when you get into countdown to ecstasy as they were more of a band with set members. The guitarists in the first two recordings are Jeff Skunk Baxter and Denny Diaz. Danny Diaz plays one of the solos on Aja and he plays the jazzy solo on green earrings, and the the electric sitar on do it again. You have yet to be able to react to a Jeff Skunk Baxter solo!!!!! I recommend night by night, and my old school on countdown to ecstasy. The song bodhisattva is a great comparison of double solos by Dias and Baxter in that order. If you were react to Rikki don’t lose that number that is also Jeff Baxter on a mind-boggling solo. Everybody recognizes Beckerand Fagan’s great songwriting but people forget that Walter Becker is a really great bass player as well as a great guitarist. He plays all the bass on the first two albums before surrendering it to studio session players. Great can’t wait to see more and happy anniversary. Head bobbing is a sign of life and proof of soul.
The Fez is actually a euphemism for a condom. I've said before that their lyrics were often at odds with the music, quite often exploring the dark underbelly of society. Still a song about safe sex in 1976 was definitely a rarity. You should check out their second album Countdown To Ecstasy. Probably their most guitar orientated album after this one. Bodhisattva has some anazing guitar work, Showbiz Kids (in which they give themselves a namecheck), My Old School, The Boston Rag. Up to Katy Lied (their 4th album), they were more a fixed band with the occasional guest. Jeff Skunk Baxter left to join the Doobie Brothers and the original band fell apart not long after. Jeff's had a pretty interesting life, part of two of the worlds biggest bands and more recently a missile defence consultant for the US government. Maybe Donald could write a satirical song about it😄
as a life long Steely Dan fan I can't tell you how much joy seeing "my" band get so much love from you guys and others. Keep up the great journey and listing to the best band of all time in my biased opinion of course. ha
Is it just me or do these tracks just make you smile whilst getting into the groove.....and to see Nick's face, it's just so great to watch what most of us are feeling too! You are such a cute couple! I honestly could not pick one track above the others, they are all so good! Fez sounds like a movie soundtrack almost.
Happy Anniversary, Nick and Lex!!! In case someone hasn't mentioned this...the guitar solo on The Fez is by Walter Becker and Larry Carlton does the soloing on The Royal Scam.
You've got to listen to "Everything Must Go"! Their material from the 70's to the 90's (together and solo) are legendary. I've been a fan since I first heard them in high school in 1972. Their later music showed such impressive maturity (Two Against Nature and Everything Must Go, 2000-2003) along with the solo albums of Donald Fagen, but none of this comes as a surprise. Donald Fagen and Walter Becker constituted musical and lyrical genius, combining rock, blues, jazz, gospel, and funk. RIP Walter Becker.
The Fez... one of my favorites along with Janie Runaway and Kid Charlemagne.. I LOVE this band.. been a fan since my first taste back in like 1971? With Reelin in The Years from Can't Buy a Thrill.. I am now 62 and, like I said, they may be my favorite band.
It's really nice to revisit Steely Dan by way of your reactions. You two make a great couple, and congratulations, by the way, on your 10 years of marriage to one another. That's awesome!
Welcome to the rabbit hole. I love the new Steely Dan Fans. I was introduced to Steely Dan in 1979. I have been a fan every since. Now my son is as well. He loves Royal Scam. ❤❤❤❤
Been a huge Steely Dan fan since their first album. I agree with Nick. Royal Scam is my favorite album. Their others are all excellent as well. Something about the style of that album just connects with me. Sorry but that wasn't Larry Carlton on the Fez, it was Walter. Walter played rhythm and lead on guitar and sometimes bass on some songs. Love your reactions.
I knew you two cats would dig Hatian Divorce because it is such a story surrounded by a fabulous instrumentation and it's hard to keep one's feet still while giving it a listen to.
I hate divorce but I love Haitian Divorce. In fact, it is my favorite song of Steely. Due to the last minute after thought of Mister Becker to add the talk box, the song becomes the quintessential SD jam. Love the reggae beat. It's pure genius. But Gaucho remains my favorite album. It's perfection and grace. They worked so hard on that album they couldn't do another one for 20 years. Who comes back after that? Nobody but the two hardest working guys in the music world. Kudos to F & B. They went back, Jack, and did it again. I'll stop now.
The Fez! THAT'S MY GROOVE! As Mr Tayler comments below (or above), the only song that has a songwriter other than Fagen/Becker because it's based on a totally bitchin' keyboard jam from Paul Griffin. He was playing it waiting for the engineer to get ready, and Walter made him play it again. The next thing you know: magic! Personally I'm really looking forward to you hearing "Third World Man" the final track from Gaucho. Very moody, atypical SD, with brilliant (of course) guitar from Larry Carlton. For a long time we all thought it was the last Steely song.... Happy Birthday Donald Fagen. Congrats to you guys on your 12 years of togetherness. May there be 12x12 more! ❣
The background on the subject of the title track is really pretty interesting. Definitely worth doing a little googling! Another great reaction from you two!
On Pretzel Logic my favorites are Night By Night, Any Major Dude Will Tell You, Barrytown, the title track and last but certainly not least Charlie Freak you are going to love these. 🙏🏽✌🏽❤️

Great reaction and a roundup of this album, you can now play freely right through at your leisure. Finally ! Lol .... If you ever want a nice romantic evening with just the right mood music, may I suggest Larry Carlton's solo album "Fingerprints" It's a wonderful album. - Play the 1st track which is the title track - I wont need to explain any further. Best wishes X
Hi Nick, they used to call me 'The Dan Man ' at work in the 70's but i think i can officially call you that now and Lex 'The Dan Woman' lol! So glad you got to The Royal Scam at last and look forward to your reactions to Pretzel Logic.
I can almost guarantee you guys that you never need to ask your viewers to 'like and subscribe'. Besides, I doubt asking has ever gotten anyone to like and subscribe anyway. The reason so many people like and subscribe to your channel is because of 'you'. It's the way you come across that causes people to like and subscribe. Just keep doing what you do and being who you are and before you know it you'll be celebrating 100k subscribers : )
Nick @ Lex, you lovely goob/cat/dears are so wonderful to witness, share, and absorb. What you emit and share is glorious. Thank you. Steely Dan is so off the chart amazing, I could only expect you two being joyous about the whole blessed thing. Congratulations on the anniversary and on completing another Dan album! I'm still going to keep harping on about Countdown to Ecstasy. Bracketed by two of the greatest SD tunes, Bodhisattva and King of the World. Neither of which sound like any other Steely Dan song.

The solo trumpet in both R and L channels is the great Chuck Findley. So glad you enjoyed both cuts- we Dan-heads sure enjoy watching you experience them for the first time!! Love you guys!❤️❤️
It would be hard to name another band who is able to produce so many different sounding and feeling songs!
Yes, But ... they still have that recognizable sound. I could always hear it. Cheers ✨🤪
Beatles id say
So great to see how far you have gone on your Steely Dan journey. Hard to believe 10 short months ago you had no idea what you were entering.
sounds just like me, Stella although I have you beat by a year!!!!
Ken
You've probably heard this before, but Steely Dan has been characterized as your favorite band's, favorite band.
So pleased you guys completed the whole Royal Scam album now. I've listened to the title track countless times but still manage to hear something extra every time. Its one of their most magical tracks and totally unique. Glad you enjoyed it too.
LOVE IT!
So happy you both enjoy (love) Steely Dan!!
Such a great band!
Can't wait for your next reaction to SD...
Regards,
ALinCAL
“I stepped upon the platform
The man gave me the news
He said you must be joking son
Where did you get those shoes”
❤️✌🏼😎
OMG! That bass line is hypnotic. Thanks so much for loving this music.
“cheers y’all” !
their second..Countdown To Ecstacy is my fave.. Every album is its' own flavor.
Haha, jk.
I always try an recommend The Boston Rag to channels to react to. The breakdown and guitar solo on that track are both insane.
countdown is my favorite too!
1. countdown to ecstasy
2. gaucho
3. can't buy a thrill
4. the royal scam
5. aja
6. pretzel logic
7. katy lied
8. two against nature
9. everything must go
I saw them immediately after they released Countdown at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas with Elton John and som other English band. Skunk Baxter blew me away.
The Royal scam is just relentless…..and the lyrics so powerful.
Loved seeing you guys discover Steely Dan. Hope you get to see them live! Your happiness and enthusiasm is refreshing. Great video!
I switch to DTS in 5.1 surround-sound. Incredible amount of clean, deep bass and crystal clear sound. Only wish it were on BluRay.
I'd love to have a Two Against Nature DVD watchathon! Sounds so good.
What Michele Michele said 👍🏽👍🏽
@@mikeminer1947 Agreed.
@@mauriciodelarosa2449 🥰🥂✨🤪
I'm guessing there are a number of people who think you should have experienced the Dan starting with album 1, then on to #2 and so forth.. The way you're doing it, however, makes sense to me. Now you get to observe their progression, having experienced their peak. You being a musician, that should be fun!
The Royal Scam....One of my Fave Dan tunes. S.D's production values are soooo crispy! Thanks N&L.
🤔 First time had to be 'Reelin in the Years' on AM 📻 Radio in the kitchen baking Cookies with my Grandma.🥰 She loved her Abba, Sonny & Cher and 5th Dimension. 😞 RIP Nana & her baked goods. 😌🐰
Hahaha! "We kind of don't listen to the lyrics, but then they come." Well, let's just be glad they had their fez on.
Some things never change, now they are doing the same to illegal immigrants, welcome to; the royal Scam"...NYC...
As I said before the Great Steely Dan won’t never let you down. Every album and song is a phenomenal journey thank you for the reaction guys ❤️☝️💫
Hey Nick & Lex,
You're taking me back to my childhood & to the beginning of my preteen years to the start of my teen years from ''75-79 and The Dan was a great part to get me through the good & the bad times and both The Royal Scam & Aja was a part of that musical soundtrack and I'm so glad that you are enjoying them and congrats again on your 12th. year as a couple and many more years to you!! Hope to hear from you soon!!
Thanks & Keep Rockin'!!,
Walter -
Yaaayyy!!! A SD marathon!
Pretty sure Walter plays lead on "The Fez."
Yes and a very underrated guitarist.
Great stuff folks. Please don't miss 'Third World Man' off Gaucho. I want to see the looks on Nick's face listening to Larry Carlton's very special guitar work. I enjoy your video's very much.
I’m sure you’ve heard this 1 million times but You two are such a lovely couple. Naturally endearing and a pleasure to watch
Enjoying your Dan journey guys! It's like watching my own journey with the Dan back in the day! Awesome. 👍😀
I've listened to this a hundred times or more but never notice the Beatles' influence in it...super fun.
Our patience you have earned, because you keep providing quality output!
Been listening to and loving the "Dan" for years, great to see someone else finding them and enjoying the great music.
Hi guys, I love you guys! I've been subscribed and watching your reactions since pretty much the beginning. Always a thumbs up... keep up the great work! - Brooklyn Mike
Happy Anniversary Y'all!
Y'all make the BEST couple. I wish you MANY years of joy, laughter, music, and life.
ALL THE BEST!!!
If your taste is more in the Royal Scam vein than in the Aja/Gaucho realm, then you'll probably like Countdown to Ecstasy the most (it's my favorite SD album). As usual, always a pleasure to see your reactions!! ¡Cuídense estimadísimos!
The only album I ever bought twice. The first one melted into the shag carpet of my bedroom when my parent's house caught fire...
Two Against Nature is incredibly underrated,, although it won Grammy album of the year. Seen Dan 5 times 💕
Don't forget you've also got the album 'Katie Lied' to get to. Not sure why that one gets "forgotten". "Doctor Wu" is a personal favorite.
Mine too.
Oh, don’t worry 😉. We’ll make sure we get to it. Are you with me, Doctor Wu?!! Lol. ✨🤪
@@michelemichele3375 ...are you really just a shadow...or just an ordinary guy...
I feel like Dr. Wu doesn’t get the love it should. It is one of my absolute favorites.
@@elainemarsh5170 most of the time, is my #1
Thank you so much for doing this album. I can't wait for Pretzel Logic as it's my favourite Steely Dan album.
Always nice to see that you just can’t help yourselves! 🔥
Don't Forget 'Katy Lied' ! 1975.
You guys are fun to watch.. "STEELY DAN' perfection!
Maybe Donald could write a satirical song about it😄
Thanks Gary Bick, You saved me a lot of typing and time, my comment would have been very similar to yours👍
Agreed. That album was very guitar-centric and Bodhisattva was simply an awesome example of it...
the fez is officially a womb. so much for patriarchy
as a life long Steely Dan fan I can't tell you how much joy seeing "my" band get so much love from you guys and others.
May be?
It's really nice to revisit Steely Dan by way of your reactions. You two make a great couple, and congratulations, by the way, on your 10 years of marriage to one another. That's awesome!
Welcome to the rabbit hole. I love the new Steely Dan Fans. I was introduced to Steely Dan in 1979. I have been a fan every since. Now my son is as well. He loves Royal Scam. ❤❤❤❤
Your son is very lucky, as are we!!
Ricki Don’t Lose is a song. Album is Pretzel Logic. Looking forward to it!

On Pretzel Logic my favorites are Night By Night, Any Major Dude Will Tell You, Barrytown, the title track and last but certainly not least Charlie Freak you are going to love these. 🙏🏽✌🏽❤️

Nick @ Lex, you lovely goob/cat/dears are so wonderful to witness, share, and absorb. What you emit and share is glorious. Thank you. Steely Dan is so off the chart amazing, I could only expect you two being joyous about the whole blessed thing. Thank you again and if you're at all curious, my favorite two songs of all time are Turn of the Century by yes and Little Green by Joni Mitchell .Bless your souls.
Congratulations on the anniversary and on completing another Dan album! I'm still going to keep harping on about Countdown to Ecstasy. Bracketed by two of the greatest SD tunes, Bodhisattva and King of the World. Neither of which sound like any other Steely Dan song.
Hey Nick N Lex, I have so enjoyed your voyage into Steely Dan so far and I love how you both dig the vibe in the music and can't help but to move to it. I'm the same way. Bop away. Keep up the good work.
