    I am halfway through Inferno and I love it. I have bot been to Florence, but Mr. Brown includes LOTS of interesting artwork and almost revolutionary literature. I quite like that. It's like the most condensed forms of learning the history without actually visiting there, all the while telling a story that is fast-paced and captivating.

    Dan Brown - is the ideal of modern writer. His books are very interesting, exciting and inspiring. He shows very skillfully the monumentality of works of art, and makes you think about a lot of different problems from a different angle. That's what I think.

    • @nikolasp2
      @nikolasp2 11 років тому

      Yes; the novel is about a big mystery that Robert Langdon tries to solve, with the help of certain verses from Dante's "Inferno". Therefore, the book is called so, I guess. And the nine circles are also mentioned at some point.

    Czytając kolejne książki Dana Browna czuję się jakbym słuchał listy przebojów muzyki Country (z góry przepraszam miłośników tej muzyki, ale dla mnie wszystkie utwory są takie same). Dobrze zacznę inaczej: jak zrecenzował kiedyś pewna sztukę jeden z wielkich pisarzy: "sztuka była jak miecz Karola Wielkiego - długa i płaska". Nie czepiałbym się tego, gdybym kiedyś nie oglądał wywiadu z pisarzem, który opowiadał jak długo przygotowuje się do napisania książki, aby od strony logiki, czy faktów historycznych była nienaganna. Może się czepiam, ale Uniwersytet Harvarda powinien podać Browna do sądu, bo jeśli profesor historii sztuki nie potrafi skojarzyć haseł: konie i Wenecja, to gratulacje. Mówimy o najsławniejszych rzeźbach stojących na frontonie najważniejszego kościoła stojącego na najważniejszym placu Wenecji (pomijam, że Brown przestrzelił datę powstania koni o ..osiem wieków). Zastanawia się nad "zdradzieckim dożą ?". Nie trzeba być profesorem Harvardu, żeby wiedzieć, że to jest Donadolo (starzec, który skierował krucjatę na Konstantynopol). Ale cóż, jeśli kurator muzeum Bazyliki św. Marka -Ettore Vio zastanawia się gdzie pochowano Dandolo - największego z dożów w historii - który rabunkiem Konstantynopola wzbogacił tak bardzo Wenecję - to ręce mi opadły. Cóż zostało mi jeszcze 120 stron i wyjazd bohaterów do Istambułu (właśnie przeczytałem, że historyk sztuki zauważył, że tajemniczą jaskinię podtrzymują jakieś filary uff - "Konstantynopol + tajemnicze filary w jaskini = eh). Poprzednie książki Browna były ok, ale koleś idzie już na ilość, a o jakości już zapomniał. Pozdrawiam czytelników

    overpoplulation IS a MAJOR problem. Denial is normal for the human brain to do when something so catastrophic in the future may occur. Its kinda common sense to me when it comes to how mother nature cannot handle the insane increase in billions of people since 1960 alone. I think it was 3 billion then. now its almost 8. Something needs to change....

    The reason I think he gets so much criticism is that a lot of his novels are controversial in that it plays devil's advocate to a lot of people's beliefs. The fact that he does research and uses a lot of factual elements, it makes people uncomfortable and forget that what he's writing is fiction.
