I personally do not, But most everyone else does. I keep them occasionally. I typically catch more then I keep. But looking for blood marks is always a great way to find a good spot when ya can’t get on a good bite. Some of these guys go out at 10/11pm and fish until the morning but still Leave blood marks for us to find their spots. 👀👀👀😜🫡🎣 Happy Fishing 🎣
It's the best time of the run. They are gathering at the mouth/entrances of the harbors and feeding like crazy. I had a 35mm camera flash that I would use to flash the glow in the dark lures with the flash. It was better than holding a flash light over them. When the first north Easter comes through it was always a sure sign that the salmon would be charging into the harbors. They were extremely aggressive then. Five star video!!! If you can learn something from watching a master. You have gained a life time of wisdom! Gracias Jorge!
The length options are less then an inch difference and doesn’t matter. What matters Is that your buying the deep diving version and color your most confident in. Happy Fishing 🎣
Government pier in Waukegan is probably best. Chicago Diversy harbor and Belmont harbor are known to be better because that’s where they release the Fry. Kenosha, Racine Milwaukee all probably best. Indiana is successful too but primarily steel head and coho not as many kings. Michigan … Prob one of the best when it comes to all Great Lakes species. Happy Fishing 🎣
Glow spoons or lures. A lot of people use a flasher to get them to be bright In this video I just used my flash light to get it to glow. Night is best time for king salmon and glow spoons/ cranks are prob the best. Coho you can catch night and day. Happy Fishing 🎣
Never caught one before but want to catch one this year should I wait to go or go soon? Are they like fully in the harbors or in the mouths ? Any tips are much appreciated I am in Chicago area too
Go now! My first year in Chicago took over 10 trips but mainly due to poor timing. Go out to any harbor mouth and start casting. Fishing Tighter pinches in ANY harbor will funnel movement and increase your odds!
Congrats on that awesome catch! I'm fairly new to your channel. I use to do some fishing here and there over 3 years ago but I let the hobby go... now I'm trying to pick it back up. You ever do any meet ups? I live in the Burbs.
Many start casting in august for harbor kings. But yes The time is now several fish have been caught in Chicago Harbors, Waukegan, Kenosha, Racine and Milwaukee. Go get em! Happy Fishing 🎣
@@JamesLee-zr1er I say it several times in the video. It’s a crystal A minnow. Made by Yozuri. But you can reach out to @Jasonspecial_custom @jasonspecial or something along those lines on instagram to get your own custom painted glow crank. Happy Fishing 🎣
This year I’ll have more of a Wisconsin focus on salmon. It’s already been exciting. Those thousand cast don’t apply once you leave Chicago. 🫡😎✌️🎣 Happy Fishing 🎣
There’s only one way to find out. And it’s not sitting at home. Let’s put it this way, In Wisconsin. Fish are already moving into the rivers. That means you better light a fire under your bASS and start casting!! Your Chicago king awaits. Happy Fishing 🎣
Great catch man 😊 they put up a real good fight!
Great video !
So jealous I’m itching to catch one .. I will try this weekend hopefully 🙏🏼
One thing I’ve learned is you def can’t catch them sitting at home. 🤣✌️🫡🎣 Happy Fishing 🎣
Not wrong my dude, I still haven't caught my first one after a few seasons. I'm up next :D
Do you bleed the fish on the pier ?

It’s clearly stated at the end of the video. Happy Fishing 🎣
