I love this video and the info is great, but Neil please leave the jump cuts and annoying jump cut sounds back in 2009 where they belong. Check out Dhruv Rathees videos as an example of engaging, yet informative videos. I'm sure if you just make some small tweaks (and also up the length of the video for longer watch time), they'll do much better. Best wishes and thanks for the info!
I noticed there are a lot of freelance sites offering services to improve YT SEO by growing one's subscriber count and increasing watch time on the channel to achieve monetization goal in say 30 days - can this be done legitimately?

You can run ads for super cheap and target people in the US, that will drive that traffic to your channel and lead to more views and subscribers. Hope this helps --from a fellow UA-camr :)

Are you taking a picture of yourself with a green screen behind you when taking the thumbnail shot? As for secondary keywords within the description, that's a biggie I'm not doing and will see about that for sure. I am an UberSuggest subscriber so I'll use that along with Answer the Public, which looks quite useful for new ideas. Thanks a lot!

I disagree with what he said about the color red, I studied psychology and the colors red, green, and yellow stand out to the cones in our eyeballs, which leads to more clicks. I think it's okay for you to stick with that color. I know lots of UA-camrs who are successful and use that color. Hope this helps--from a fellow UA-camr

I wouldn't listen to anyone who says they can promise you results in a short time period. There are never any guarantees in white hat SEO.

I have someone take pictures of me in front of a green screen :) It can feel weird at first but you'll get used to it.

I'd test with different color thumbnails and see if it makes a difference for you :)
